It wasn’t what he had wanted, being stuck between rivals, but he would make it work. The warmonger wasn’t sure why Ryker had abandoned the Oasis, but Ronin was not going to miss his chance, not now. The beast would walk into the pride, head held high, a bellowing snarl roaring from his jaws as she turned, toes digging into the sand eagerly, waiting for the challenger that would come to try and take this from him. It couldn’t be worse than the swamp….right? Nothing could be worse than that… or so he thought. He could handle the heat, it couldn’t be worse than his former homeland, where everything was dying off. At least…here there was some green, he would note, as he looked around. Yes, it was survivable.

It’s empty - it’s free. Scorpius had loitered around to see the dust settle, and wastes no time in beelining for the center of the Oasis. He calls, roars - lets everyone know that this is his and they will have to rip it from him before he leaves again - but he is too late.

"Who are you?" Scorpius demands of @Ronin, a stranger. He will fight, of course, but his body is still wounded from his run in. "This is my family’s land, for generations." He would not see it simply handed over. It is his duty, even if the fight is impossible.

Still got miles to go before all is revealedThis was getting funny, in a horrible, utterly fucked up way. How much turmoil did one land breed? Apparently it was endless and deep as the ocean thar hugged Amaryllis, a name that the yearling had come to associate with many things, mostly blood.

The Geminus heir had been lingering in the area since catching the faintest trace of Dubhán's scent in the gorge a bit further out from the area. So when that old familiar call went up, he heard it loud and clear. Another call, another challenge, and maybe a lot of red sand. He was doubting that he would be seeing his brother at this one either, but any gathering needed to be checked. So, steeling himself, Darcia made his way closer to the point of entry to this newest wound being torn into the social fabric.

The storm had washed away the scentline of the pride who'd resided here before, allowing the boy easy entry. If anyone was lingering that might feel different them he expected they would have their paws full shortly with the crowds thst always followed such a call.

Darcia found him a spot where there was shade beneath a date tree, studying the two larger figures that appeared to be sizing each other up, and on the fringes, a girl with an interestingly swirled pelt.

Carina was, for once, exceptionally early. She had been scouting the drier climate of Amaryllis for herbs that would be able to withstand the salty sting of the Lagoon's air when she noticed the strange lack of scent. The challenging roar of a stranger on the wind as she moved towards the Oasis.

Normally, she was told by Tiamat, prides wouldn't let you trespass but seeing as this was not a challenge of a current leader but someone was calling to claim it. To challenge another outsider to battle -- it meant that there was no one to tell her not to trespass.

So she took that as an opportunity to roll through the desert sands. There were a lot of decent plants to be had in the sandy territory but her attention was quickly enraptured by the alexandrian senna. Movements were quick as she moved to snap a few branches off before skittering away. The leaves and pods would come in handy but she would only have enough room to travel with a singular branch today.

Finding a nice spot, she set her branch down and looked to the challenger and the challengee. Intent to watch them fight so she could analyze their wounds and figure out, essentially, what she would use and if they would care enough to call for a medic afterwards.

Ah, the cacophony of a fight just beginning. It was like music to her ears. Paws knead briefly in the sand with excitement before the woman bolts in the direction of the sound. Slowing only when she reaches stale scent borders skewed by a recent turn of natural events, the dark woman slunk into the unfamiliar land with a spark in her fiery gaze.

Already the opponents were there, one going for blood. Salmon tongue swipes at her lips, almost as if she can taste the crimson ichor herself. Hopefully this brawl would be worth her time. It'd been a while since she'd seen bloodshed outside of scraps over food.

Settling off to the side, the woman would stray close enough to see the blood fly but far enough that she'd hopefully avoid being trampled. These beasts were all unknown to her, but perhaps soon enough the she-wolf would familiarize herself with them. Would they be good allies for her new-found home?

He had not returned to Amaryllis long, and the land sang with the chaos of upheaval, and war. Things had changed, something in the air felt electrified with the symphony of battle- a feeling he thought he had long escaped. On his quests to figure out what had changed and what had not, he was checking out some of the desert when he neared the borders of the once proud pride... to find it empty.

Like fate itself had rang a bell, a challenge rang in the land- answered by another and he moved forward- low and slow, aiming to move upwards and around the call to find himself a place in the sparse brush to remain potentially hidden to watch the fight for the territory- to see who may take over this home and become it's new leader- his eyes narrowed to see males he did not know, and he wondered... how many rulers and potential rulers would he not know?

The Oasis is not somewhere she had been before. The desert made her feel out of place, rusty pelt warm beneath the fierce light. No shade, no shelter, she didn’t understand why anyone would want to live out here. But she would drop by to investigate what all this roaring was about. it seemed to be another challenge, and the last few had been absolutely fascinating. With a swish of her banded tail she closed in on the pair.

A dark brown patched beast with a dense mane, and a striped, piebald younger man with bright red eyes. Neither she knew, but perhaps sticking around would let her glean more. In the very least, it would be a little entertainment for the day before her hunting plans that evening.

Leila settled down to sit on the sand in the slight shade of a weak-looking tree. A little bit of respite to the desert heat.

As expected, the challenger would come. This time in the form of a titan, coat freshly wounded, but still he came. A quirk of his lips would show a form of amusement and respect on the warmongers countenance. Ears would twitch at the words that came out, first as a demand. Who was he? Well, soon, they would find out. Wouldn’t they?This was his home, for generations. The statement would strike the beast, causing a slight tilt of his head in curiosity. He could understand fighting for ones home, fighting for what was perceived as theirs. Really…it was all for the taken, only the strong would hold it. What would strike him more, was the youthful tones the boy had. He was young, freshly matured. Tongue would roll over his muzzle, pondering for a moment.

So be it. Fight for it then. He would rumble, guttural voice low, challenging. He would test this boy further than many others had, there would be given no quarter given as he stepped forward, stride slow, practiced, methodical. Toes would flex in the sand, gripping the slippery substrate as he closed the distance almost casually. Until, suddenly, he wasn’t. Muscles would flex and he would surge forward, rushing into the fray as if he rushed to hug an old friend. Really what was battle to him but an old friend? Jaws parted, loose and waiting, but it was his claws that Scorpius needed to worry about.

Left paw would hook into the sand, coming up in an attempt to throw sand into the face of his adversary while his right paw would come up, in attempt to strike the man in the face. Ears tucked against his skull, tail lashing behind him for balance. It was a dirty move, but Ronin had never fought honorably before, he wasn’t going to start now.

All was fair in love and war.

Boy, this was a turn. Nephthys couldn't deny she was ecstatic to see the man dethroned, but her reasons were purely selfish. Seneca and her father had been friendly enough and the last time she'd seen her father had been the day she had gone running to sob on his shoulder about Bhaskar. Maybe it wasn't the best memory, but it was hers and she knew her father adored the desert. The dunes were in her blood, too, weren't they? Maybe this would end up being okay. Although she assumed Scorpius would want nothing to do with her being anywhere near the pride if he should win, Nephthys wouldn't deny seeing a Miroslav back on the throne would be nice.

Then again, she was sleeping with the other guy. Hm. Decisions.
