Success! The lioness would fall, releasing her hold on him as they fell with him landing on top of her, his limbs braced around her, so that he didn’t completely lay on her, the position reminding him of the position he and Adalwolfs wife had ended in. He’d refrain from raking down this woman’s belly- if only because before he could even get in a position to put his hind leg up to her stomach she was kicking him in the gut. Ronin would flinch, snarling one last time to remind her just how vulnerable a position she was in before stepping back away from her. It was clear who the winner was here.

Seems I do belong here. He would rumble, catching his breath from both the exertion of battle as well as from her kick to his gut- which still hurt by the way but he wasn’t about to let that show. Ronin was about to tell the woman to tend her cub elsewhere, but a familiar form would draw his attention, lips twitching ever so slightly, threatening to further unveil his elongated canines. Slaine. The warmonger would shake himself, trying to rid himself of the tension that her presence suddenly caused him. He wasn’t sure why he felt such anger at her presence, perhaps it was because he felt she was catching on to the game he played…perhaps it was just because of her choice that he couldn’t be okay with. Hell it could have been both. Their last real conversation had left his feelings raw and angry rather than hurt and sad.


Ronin would incline his head ever so slightly, waiting for her to either approach or to leave.

Protectively, Slaine would stand with the child as her mother battled with Ronin in the pit. Wide eyed and fully alert, the queen would observe the match with an increasingly concerned expression. What exactly was Ronin doing? The question plagued her and bunched her shoulders into a tight knot of anxiety. Was this all just unfortunate coincidence or was her ex-husband purposely firing warning shots at Ecrosia?

The match came to its conclusion and Ronin emerged the victor. In the not-too-distant past, the clanswoman would have celebrated his win with him but the expression that marred the mire queen's features was anything but happy at that moment in time. Too concerned for her pride and the potential target on its members.
"Go tae yer ma, wee one." The lioness instructed to @Imrae, hoping that the cub would seek out the protection of her mother, leaving Slaine free to consider her next move without being weighted down with worry for her out in neutral lands.

Eyes had seldom left the figure of @Ronin and saw then that he had spotted her too. Sapphire meeting the mismatched gaze of her former lover. Breath hitched and she is not so far from the woman she was. The longing she has always felt.
The warmonger seemed to be waiting for her.
With slight trepidation, she inhaled deeply and set off down into the crater. Each stride taking her closer to Ronin and into a confrontation neither she nor her heart was prepared for.
"Another Ecrosian." Pale lips parted to state tersely as she swayed her athletic body to a stop a few meters from the hulking form of Ronin.

She knew she was beat, and aside from the kick to his gut that had landed, Tanaz made no further effort to engage him. Instead, she rolled from back to belly – aching and sore and bloodied, and exhilarated by the movement and engagement all the same. She shook the dirt from her pelt gingerly, and would tilt her head sidelong to consider the brute when he spoke. A wry smile wove its way across her chestnut features, and she would lift her chin a bit and flick the tip of her tail in a semblance of impish pride. I admit, you fight well for a wounded beast. She concedes agreeably – for how could she not? he certainly fought better than she – and pointed ears flicked back against her skull as she leveled an appraising and curious look on her unknown opponent. Who was he?

Only then to have her attention pulled by the approach of her azure Sovereign, who was descending from the cliffs and into the pit, her destination clear, and the atmosphere seemed to shift around them as she did so. Hazel eyes sought the small figure of her daughter in reassurance that she was safe, and the new mother felt suddenly and immensely grateful that the monarch had been present during this match. But the Evengard woman sensed there was something bigger going on here than just the simple spar as her gaze shifted between the two of them, and so she would take her leave without much more fuss. Only when she passed Slaine would she dip her chin in respect, gratitude softening her expression for a moment – but would not attempt to engage the sovereign in conversation. Instead she headed back up the cliffs, to retrieve her daughter and return to the mire.
