Despite everything he felt towards his current situation among the Brook. Eskel would never miss a hunt. The snow had come, as winter always did- and that certainly did make prey harder to track and yet... this impala had seemingly walked right into their paws. He almost snorted with amusement from where he crouched in the brush- yet, he remained poised and silent- ready to chase the beast into someone else's waiting claws should they be ready to make the kill. He did not need the glory of ending such a small beast's life for himself, anyway.

3 years, no bonus

Cassandra wasn't a stranger to prey animals making their way into the brook, but it would seem that this was a lone impala that had wandered into the brook in an attempt to find food with snow covering the ground. She had scented the animal while doing a border patrol, and had veered in the direction of the source. Scenting the air, she noticed that the only one who had arrived thus far was Eskel. After learning what she had regarding the larger male, her feelings towards him were mixed at the moment.

He was still a valued member of the brook, but she didn't 100% trust him anymore like she did her family. He'd have to earn that back. At least he was starting with what she'd asked him to do, helping provide for the pride with hunting. The Queen would position herself just to the left of Eskel in the bush as well, waiting to see if there would be anyone else joining them in this hunt today.

The bronze male found himself following after a scent trail through the snow. It ended up leading him towards an impala and a couple of other members of the pride. They were the usual faces that were to be found at these sorts of events. He expected Heloise to show up soon after all well. Perhaps, at least, one of his children would be here as well.

The maneless lion sidled up next to Cassandra in order to stand next to her and watch the impala. "Easy enough?" He spoke softly so as not to spook the creature.

Seven years, no perks

The call for a hunt was as familiar to her as the whisper of the spirits, and she answered it just the same. There were few there at the moment, but judging by their quarry they wouldn't need many. Not like they had needed for previous hunts. No doubt this would be a simple endeavor.

She did move to stand on Caligula's other side, an ear turning towards him as he spoke. Indeed, it would be easy enough, as long as they didn't do something stupid. Stranger things had happened, but she doubted they would do that. They were a well oiled machine at this point.

four years, no perks

He was slowly getting better at this whole hunting thing, but he'd admit that it was easier to do that when there were more of the rest of the pride around to help cover for him. There weren't nearly as many of them around right now, so he was going to have to step up and pull his weight here it seemed.

He stood slightly behind the group that was forming, waiting for instructions, noticing the other man not too far away from them but still separate. He'd seen him around at most if not all of these hunts but they'd never really spoken to him.

8 years, no trade bonus, pride tier 1
Numbly patrolling the border back and forth, back and forth, and never finding anything of note. Every day he searched for something beyond that never came and he could tell that there was something coming. A nerve in his body telling him to be on his guard and to not let him. Don't let weakness win by calling it quits but the nerve never told him not to take a moment to focus his sights elsewhere.

So as he rounded the last bend of the border and took a few minutes look around. Stretching his sights down the border as well as outside of it, he could not see any new trailmarkers that might have been left. No footprints that had crossed in from the most popular path in and out and so, a break would be had.

With a deep exhale of air did he turn to venture deep into the Brook. Seeing all of the familiar faces and giving a vague nod to each of them as he settled in to assist his pridemates with whatever strength he could give them for an hour or two.

Dice were rolled in discord by @Sylvey. you can play out the remainder of the hunt however you’d like.

The hunt would be successful after they were joined by a few other members of the Brook. A nod would be given to the other three as they joined herself and Eskel. Thankfully, since their target was a simple impala, the group that had gathered would be more than enough to successfully taken down the target. Her and Eskel could've probably taken down the impala on their own, but it seemed like the pride was eager for something to do.

Once they had taken it down, Cassandra would stand next to their kill and look around at everyone else. "Shall we go ahead and get this taken to the pride's cache and get it stored away?" She suggested, breathing a little heavily from the action of actually participating in the hunt. But she wanted to get it to the pride cache before it got too cold and chilled on the ground.

Not too difficult of a quarry, he thought, but honestly that was fine by him. He wanted to be able to help feed the pride, and surely they would be able to bring down the impala that he could just barely see through the foliage.

Indeed, they were successful, and he couldn't help the little happy tapping of his front paws even as he caught his breath. Cassandra asked for some to help haul it to the cache, and knowing his bulk would be useful for that he nodded in agreement and stuck around, willing to continue lending a paw. The more help he could give, the better.
