He emerged from his temporarily disadvantaged position to achieve success. He had braced for the impact of his skull against her chin, whereas she seemed stunned. She had failed to anticipate. He failed to plan ahead so many times! It was wonderful to meet another with the same failing, and even more wonderful to come out ahead after all the cards were thrown down.

He narrowed his eyes against the light ringing of pain, focusing on pursuing this opening to its savage end. He straightened his front limbs to achieve greater height, bringing his jaws above her skull once more and snapping instinctively for his first target, that of a bloodied ear. It had eluded him during his first attack but he would take what he had come for (even if what he had come for was a whim; her tail tuft was already gone, so all other prizes were equally valid). He snapped to grab it fully around its base, getting long yellowed canines and scraggly middle teeth into the action, and yanking it away to leave a jagged line of flesh along her scalp where the ear had been. He took his prize mostly intact, though sodden with blood and drool, and he grinned.

Can you hear that?

There is a sound like the ticking of a bomb, the trickling of sand through the hourglass. It is the sound of her heart beat, drumming a fickle pattern along her ribs.

Her body collides with the hardened dirt beyond the pair. When the dust settles it is all she can see: @Aidoneus trapped beneath the claws of that man who stinks of blood and despair, the yellow of his fangs glistening in the harsh light. Inching closer and closer to the vulnerable expanse of her throat.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

The seconds that passed seemed more like hours.

She didn't see the others scrambling to save her too. She didn't hear @Cerberus' roar across the battlefield or see @Gauthier's struggle. Wounded. Bleeding. She saw only the rise of @Kieran's head, the exposed tilt of his own throat as he bent to find her cousin's skin. She saw only red.

The red of his skin. The red of his blood.

And she would have it.

She turns on her heels and collides. Her body meets his, a shoulder tucked under his armpit and thrust upwards to dislodge him from the small frame of her cousin. She heaves against him, the breath leaving her on impact, and she topples over him as they both hit the hard earth together.

Head bent. Legs tangled. Their breathe lingering on each other's skin. A snarl perfectly poised on her rosy lips.

"Touch her again and I will kill you."

Their voices — the demands, their words like scythes to smote her panic, to smote the fear. Extinguishing thoughts of peril, replacing it with strung along bewilderment.

Rosie? Cerberus? How — but the question lay flat, fettered by the understanding that sometimes fate was as fickle as they, that it too had known to have a sense of humour. She nearly laughed, nearly; it too, lay snagged by the jagged reality set across her path. With @Euphrosyne thrown into the fray, at the ready and in a tangle of violence, Aidoneus struggled to find her feet, to gather her breath, to collect her senses. And it is there, she finds her brother, @Cerberus, and then that quick hound, that loyal friend free himself from the chaos surmounting, driven to aid, called into action the same as those nearest to her heart.

Mystified then, by the bellicosity in their eyes, the thunder behind their stiff warnings. Standing, bolstered, made complete by the suddenness of their presence, by the stalwart and wholeness of their company. Tears threatened to find her cheeks, to stream from gelid eyes. But ice instead collected there, instead a gnash of pearl was revealed with the curl of her lip and heat rolled from a glowered scowl.

Leave him. Let's go. she decided, shouting across to them both. Knowing it were better then, to collect themselves, to depart, and to be free of the chaos. It was not their war, this was not their game. They were but an audience swept into the fervor of ill hearts that weren't their own. Spying @Gauthier's state, she found herself sweeping to stand across.

Help me, she plead, her eyes grasping for her brother and their cousin; not knowing who Kieran was to any, not knowing she meant to rescue her ally from the clutches of his own fellows. Freed from her own peril, and with war having found its' broil — no, this weren't the time to think, to consider, to take note; it was a time to act, and all Aidoneus knew was she needed to see him helped.

Amara's spider monkey attempt seemed to work as she clawed into his skin once again and it's enough to get him to let go of her neck. The freedom was all she needed as they fell to the ground. His claws dig in but with the release of her neck, she is able to see his attack coming back at her and she went in for her own bite at his face while her claws dig into him and she manages to get out of the grip and find her footing. She stood quickly and her sharp daggering golden gaze was locked on him as she stood labored in her breathing unaware of what was happening around them. He was still down and she wasn't. She had won. That simple. Amara wasn't one for long and lengthy speeches and that wouldn't change now. Just remember that all of this was started by your family. We are only protecting what is ours. You will be doing the same now. Her voice was low and for him, as she left him in his muck and blood She moved to her pride members who were in different stages of fighting. Bleeding and wounded she would watch to see if anyone else needed to have their ass handed to them. She didn't fully understand what everyone was doing and had no idea that Cassine and her daughter had been challenged for as she tried to figure out who was doing what. The form of @Alaric not fighting was all to clear to her as her gaze swept around the pit. She hadn't heard his words and only saw his actions. A low growl rolled through her chest as she sides heavied as she looked for her next fight. It didn't matter that her body was bleeding, she would stand and fight with her pride in this until she no longer could.

He could feel everything all at once around him; the chaos of battle, the sound of teeth on teeth. Of wailing, crying, screaming. But through that haze of noise and movement, @Aidoneus stood out, so perfectly still, doe-eyed, breathing. He could see her every breath, every gentle rise and fall of the plush plume of her breast. His gaze lingers there, his claws etched into her delicate skin, her throat so close, and yet it felt so sinful to kill. Perhaps that is what causes him to enjoy this so much. To destroy what was most desirable. Oh, what a delicate catalyst of war she would be.

But Kieran would not be given that final surrender.

Perhaps it had been his hesitation, the way he'd stayed his hand to admire the lioness who lay beneath him, the raw power he felt looming over her. Or perhaps it were @Euphrosyne's love, loyalty that propelled her faster and stronger than he. Connecting, falling. Kieran stumbles away from Aidoneus as her beloved cousin looms over her. His eyes, wide and furious, his ears pounding once more with the raw, real cacophony of battle.

Touch her again and I will kill you.

Kieran smirks. Toothy, furious.

“Come and try, petite fille. I doubt you will be so lucky again.”

His attention is swiftly drawn away from her, however, his gaze following the forms of @Amara and Leander as they wrenched away from their fight and left his wife the clear victor. His nose crinkled in a snarl, sparing one final, angry glance toward the two lionesses before stalking wordlessly toward Amara. He brushes past her, and began to make his way home. No more battle would be fought by Kieran that day, but he would not so soon let Euphrosyne slip through his fingers.

She tastes @Narsil's blood for only a moment, the flash of her teeth slicing through the skin on her neck — this, she knows, is her fate. To always find another battle, to defend her home, her family. She has long since lost her hunger for vengeance; something deeper and more carnal drives Beelzebub, and it always has. At the root of all things: Odin.

The Tollaire pivots, and her teeth hook into the flesh of Bee's lower neck, padded by a thick layer a fur but enough to draw blood all the same. With Narsil's teeth at the left side of her neck, the Bezra seeks to drop her skull off to the right, attempting to bulldoze a step into Narsil and smack her skull against the left side of the woman's head, her teeth trying to sink into her neck just behind her left ear.

Her step forward means that her opponent's claws slice through the front of her paw and foreleg, but without gaining enough grip to pin her foot back down; Beelzebub seeks to use that raised paw to try and curl her claws around the back of her adversary's right wrist, hoping to sever the sensitive tendons there.

Gaping jowls meet flesh, claws bury into the soft skin of the monochrome target. Victory is immediate. Too fast, Apollinaire thought. There was little struggle, little to stop him from taking a piece for himself. An eye for an eye. And so it was. And so it will be.

But this droplet of blood was not enough to satiate him. It only ignited his flame, and awoke the serpent inside that chanted blood! Now it stirred, rising from the dark. Its stomach grumbled terribly, loudly. The metallic taste on his tongue was aggravating. He peered from above at his opponent, at his defeated shape. He spat out blood to the side. "You zhaste appalling!" His nose scrunched in disgust. "Répugnant. Vil. Unworthy of even breathing zhe same air as moi." He placed a bloodied paw across his chest in an over-done gesture, before turning around to leave.

Narsil takes a step forward towards Beezlebub, her jaws attempting to drag down Beelzlebub's neck towards her shoulder while she moves. Bee's head then instead would collide with the side of her neck causing her to cough from the sudden winding, snarling she felt her neck throb from the impact. Jutting her shoulder forward she attempted to slam the front of it into Beezlebub's face, the contact would have hopefully stunned her a bit! Meanwhile she was returning her paw to the ground when she felt claws hook on her foreleg, but they luckily missed the vital tendons. Instead leaving deep painful lacerations in their wake. Narsil would turn her paw to attempt to hook her claws onto the outside of her opponent's extended foreleg and pull back sharply. Blood for blood. Meanwhile eyes remained narrow, her chest heaved with exertion and adrenalin, her ears back against her head. This wasn't over.
