Morrigan nodded in agreement with @Maia saying she would speak to Roan and Aquila, "You might call for Cassandra as well. She likes to plan that sort of thing, and she is Heiress now." The Greyflood imagined the Tolkien and her daughter would get along fairly well. The conversation turned to specifically the mess that had transpired in the wake of Cassandra's challenge and Morrigan's expression darkened. "She certainly sparked something larger, but it was only a catalyst for the ongoing war, really. I have no doubt the same will happen again, I'm afraid. We've already lost another soldier to the fight," she said, speaking of Saga. "I suppose we just need to have faith in ourselves and our gods. It must all happen for a reason." Perhaps all this was leading up to something they just couldn't understand yet.

Maia nodded. I believe Cassandra and I have met in the past, but not one on one. It would be good to have a conversation with her. Perhaps if Jafar does not want to be Sovereign alongside me, she could rise to the position until one of my children are old enough. Maia comments, knowing that Cassandra just wanted the opportunity to shine. But at @Morrigan's comments, Maia nodded. You're right, she certainly did. But the Sigrún-Rike feud has been going on for quite some time, I believe. Her actions were just the catalyst they needed. Though, mention of losing a soldier caused Maia to frown. Did someone else die as a result of that war? She asks, oblivious to Saga's death and the uncertainty the Sigrún might be feeling at this point.

The ashen lioness turned her attention back to the icy plains that lay out in front of them, and she sighed. Faith is all well and good as long as lions believe. I fear some don't. And this weather will only put further strain on lion's beliefs, including my own. I do wonder what exactly this world has in store for us. Perhaps good things, but the weather and increase in spontaneous events caused Maia some concern.

Though she does seem to have found happiness in the Brook again," she mused, unable to fully speak for the daughter who was so much like herself. Perhaps softened around the edges by Talisa's touch of course. But her expression darkened from her look of pride at the very mention of the Rike name. "For generations," she correctly darkly, broadening the scope of just how unlikely it was for peace to ever come between the two clans. "They killed Saga, but she took out three of theirs first," she informed, unable to keep from boasting on her fallen comrade just a bit. Saga had been a force. "Faith is all some of us have left I'm afraid," she murmured. The Greyflood woman found herself easily enjoy the company of @Maia and so she would be content to sit and discuss anything else for a while until the cold became too much for them at least. exit via fade

Maia nods. I have often seen her recruit in the Passage with me, especially when I was back in the Mire. She certainly has a talent for neutral politics. She comments, looking to @Morrigan. You should be proud of her. Maia remarks with a grin.

Conversation turned to Saga, and Maia was surprised to learn such information about the former Jarl. I did not know that she had been such a warrior. That really is impressive, to kill three of your enemy before sacrificing yourself. She will become a legend, I am sure. It was an impressive feat, and Maia could never imagine what it was like to challenge someone to the death. It must be something done from a large amount of courage inside, courage which Maia did not necessarily have.

Topic of conversation continued to roll from their tongues and for once, Maia was quite content to remain in the company of another until the sun faded, or until it was too cold for either of them to sit still any longer. What Maia did know, however, was that she had found a friend in the Greyflood lioness.
