She caught up to the striped form of Aidoneus about the same time as a small lion whose pelt was cloaked in night. The male seemed to have a tactical mind, she noted, ears twitching slightly as she caught a few of his words. The success she’d had in previous hunts had given her a boost of confidence, and so she followed him to help execute the plan, hopeful that her peach-toned pelt would blend with the red canyon walls enough to allow her a stealthy approach.

The plan is sound, and the wildebeests are unable to escape even Adrien's grasp, trapped between multiple predators as they are. Once it was all over, the French woman would send an appreciative look @Recluse's way. “That was quite a clever strategy. They had little hope of escaping us.” She complimented him with a gentle inclination of her head. "Merci."

With that, she would take the opportunity to dig in and gather up her own share of the meat, before heading off to hopefully find a nice place to eat that wasn’t entirely littered with the corpses of so many insects.

Yellow eyes fell on the unfortunate prey, finding a pair of wildebeest, who of course didn't stand a chance against the hungry lions. Hungry from the lack of prey and generalized devastation. Alma herself helped with bringing one of them down, taking the chance to jump into it and cut the air supply from the animal.

Dead she looked at the others, quiet yet questioning what they would do. She of course planned to gather all the meat for her pride. Leaving for others but ultimately thinking on her own. Selfish but it was them or death.

Taking a big chunk she left. Saying nothing. No need for words right now. Exit

With most taking their share and moving on now, Fissure would finally find the fellow Cove lion, receiving some praise from two of the lionesses for his part in the hunt. A tiny little casanova over here it seemed, which the dark lion was amused by.

Despite enjoying the show, he was ready to remove himself from the mountains of dead bugs crunching underfoot with each step. Better than all of them still being alive and flying into his face he supposed. "Come, let us return some of this to the Cove little man." He called, his tone making it evident that it was not intended as an insult. He was quite fond of the lion despite them never actually exchanging words.

Recluse was pleased with how well the pincer move had worked, resulting in them bringing down substantial prey. One wildebeest would have been plenty, but they had managed two of them.

More surprising for Recluse would be the offer of praise from two of the lionesses involved. It was not often others commented on his prowess as a strategist and a hunter. "The strategy was sound, everyone did their part to make it work." He assured, not sure what else to say. This was a victory for everyone.

Fissure would speak to him them, making him feel awkward, which was something the black male seemed to have a talent for and enjoyed doing. Recluse would only nod his head, helping to bring back what he could to the Cove.

despite all the swarmin' bugs, they're able to have a successful hunt. the wilderbeest, it seemed, had the same idea of comin' here to hide out from them. a shame, then, that they were all waitin' with claws and jaws. doe grins as the beast hits the ground, delighted in their victory here. the others had worked smarter, not harder, and he could certainly appreciate that. him, though? he's always happy to barrel right on through to the easiest destination. he licks his lips clear of the blood once he's ate his fill, listenin' to the others exchange little words of pleasantries. once it's all done he seeks to head off, tryin' to get out from under the swarm of bugs. and out, too, of the heat of the day.

she grins, truly delighted, at the dark-pelted man's words. there is a melody in @Fissure's voice that causes her ears to prick forward and her cheeks to turn ruddy beneath her fur. not quite embarrassed, but instead enthralled. it will be worth it! she says, a little promise as she tries to alleviate his worries. and, it is. the food is certainly worth the effort and her smile is bright once they are successful. it was a good hunt with a worthy feast at the end of it; if only revna was here! she'll hear all about it, though, once eira gets back to the brook. thank you! she hums with appreciation to the others gathered, smiling at them happily.
