Snake's tail swayed rhythmically as she watched her… acquaintance tried the herb. Watching his face morph through several stages of grief before settling on a forced smile was priceless. A series of whistles escaped her nostrils as mirth set her features alight. She rolled her eyes and shook her head. It wasn't that bad. She pointed to the remaining half of the herb, clicked her teeth into a mock bite, then shook her head. She tilted her head, watching to gauge the giant's understanding for a second. 

The medic then patted her stomach and made a broad circular motion with her nose. She paused again, this time flicking her ears inquisitively to her now student. She could only hope some semblance of her knowledge was being conveyed properly. He was rather intuitive though, and from their limited interactions seemed to be able to decipher her a fair bit. More So than she can accredit to most others she'd had the pleasure or displeasure of meeting.

"If you're asking if it cleared my sinuses." Faust sniffed, one side of his mouth twitching as he did, "It most certainly did."

But he felt that was not quite the message that was meant to be conveyed, and so came another lesson in interpretation.

The series of motions and indications played over again in his mind; the half eaten root with a shake of the head, a pat to the stomach and a motion of something circling. Faust put together what pieces he could, at least what made sense. "Eating too much will make you feel ill?"

The angel chuffed a rumbling laugh, "That sounds like something you wouldn't want to rely on for food then, is it?"

Perhaps she'd built up some sort of immunity to whatever effect she was trying to warn of, from what he gathered it certainly didn't sound like it was something on the good side of things. A head shake was something universal, it crossed language and sometimes even species in its meaning. As for the other parts of it, Faust could only guess.

Snake tossed her head back into another wheeze of silent laughter. Perhaps a side effect she wasn't aware of? She'd have to keep that in mind for the future when using it. For now though, she shook her head. That was not the desired message being sent. She paused as he continued attempting to solve the puzzle. When he spoke again, Snake felt her lip curl upward into a warm smile. He was trying, and she did appreciate the gesture. 

However, his answer earned him a noncommittal response. Her head swayed side to side, shoulders shrugging slightly as she gave a half nod. He was partially right in his assumption. Too much consumption could lead to a sort of… Indesirable blockage, or otherwise. However, there were pros to be had with this feisty foliage yet! She pondered how she would get him to understand what it was she meant. She looked around a bit. Her ears perked with an idea.

She bounced on her paws, hoping to get the giant's attention again before she knelt down to her piece and clacked her teeth at it. She picked it up in her jaws and closed her entire mouth over it. After a heartbeat or two, she dropped the whole piece back onto the ground, forked tongue lolling out of her mouth before she shook her head again slowly. After a short pause, she ducked back down, this time rather than such a sizable bite, she pretended to nibble at the root instead. She went so far as to bite off a small chunk of plant flesh before chewing it to a paste and swallowing it. She nodded as slowly as before and sat back up then.

She tilted her head, ears perked to the angel before her.

And now she'd entirely lost him.

Progress had possibly been made and then fallen behind, but that was the way of things. Whatever she possible could have meant by all of that was falling more and more between the gaps of his grasp.

"You don't want me to tell you what I think that means, mirn maura," He shook his head. Perhaps it was that the angel was a young male, at that age where his brain was finally able to fully appreciate and realize certain things that had not felt quite so...present before. But it was hard to imagine the rather salacious display with Snake's mouth and the at this point rather thoroughly gnawed on root as entirely innocent.

Quite honestly? From the story he was getting; the biting and gnawing, the swallowing, the rubbing of her belly. He wasn't truly sure he wanted to know where this ended.

"You've lost me, unfortunately," He clarified after a few heartbeats.

Snake shot an uncharacteristically sharp glare at the massive lion at the hint of what he could be getting at. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. Well, maybe a lion of his stature wouldn’t have to rely on roots to survive anyway. It would, however, still be a good skill to possess to know how to identify them if he did ever need them. He’d have to learn their potential side effects on his own if he gorged on them. Preferably while she was not in the vicinity. The lioness rolled her eyes and flagged her tail, beckoning him to follow her. She moved back over to her little treasure trove a shrub before the other decided to pursue or not. She sat back down by her plant, her paws digging once again at the dirt.

With a little bit of effort put in, Snake plucked the rest of the plant from the ground. She held the remaining pair of roots by long stems crowned with large, flat leaves. She turned to her companion, her head tossing back a bit to drag the fruits of her labor into view. She plopped them down onto the ground and pawed at the leaves themselves. Placing a broad paw beneath one such flatheaded leaf and held it out to the golden furred male.

OOC: Mature post for crude language


Faust offered a non-commital shrug at the glare he'd received, he'd only been trying to decipher what she said. He wasn't the one gnawing and fellating tubers, was he?

But that was an awfully vulgar line of thought wasn't it? Still, he wasn't the only party involved.

Watching the odd little serpent scurry about once again, Faust raised his brows at the rather exaggerated summons he was given. Truly, she wasn't helping the situation by flashing him but he hadn't the time to continue his thoughts on what counted as good pantomime and what counted as accidental and admittedly awkward seduction.

As he fell in line and observed her present the plant though, she was going about it at a different angle. Something about the leaves this time instead of the tuber itself.

He hummed, accepting the leaf and using his claw to flip it over a few times ro observe it.

"I assume it has an effect?"

Snake smiled up to the larger feline, eyes bright at him catching on. The dark hooded lioness nodded before setting off into her next display of mentoring. She all but wagged her tail before circling around herself and settling into a comfortable lying position. She slotted her eyes shut and began to take in deep breaths in an exaggerated pattern, her sides rising and falling in time to her own heart beat. After a couple of seconds, the smaller lioness blinked her eyes back open, gave an overacted yawn, and bowed into a deep stretch with a wide smile. She shook the building dew from her fur before unceremoniously sitting and curling her striped tail tightly around herself. 

She looked to the other with a questioning expression, her head immediately tilting after her performance. She had seemed to have overestimated his intuition previously, as well as his maturity if the subtle tips were anything to go by. What else could she have meant? She had faith that her acting would serve him well to guide him to some of the effects of this herb. She didn't realize how exasperated she was becoming, nor could she even try to hide it if she had noticed.

Back into the fray.

"So, what you're telling me is that the leaves are a sedative?" He questioned, observing as the rather theatrical display came to a conclusion. It was a good thing that she hadn't decided to share a salad of leafy greens with him instead, not that he quite trusted her enough to not let her eat something first before he let it touch his tongue. She had been openly snacking on the roots, so he figured that would be the last of his worries if she took the bite.

Whatever adverse affect the tubers had, likely he wouldn't have to worry about it. He'd eaten much less than she, after all.

The knowledge was not without merit however. It was...good information to know, should he ever need it. Perhaps later he would look more into the tubers and their effects, along with some other interesting plants that he had spied on the cliffs here.

"Mu ro maurrom...," he hummed to himself quietly, turning his head to one side as he tapped his claws against the ground in thought. "Hus rrahoi ro grirra."

Oh! This she wasn't expecting with the way the conversation had been going prior. She nodded excitedly, happy that he could at least take that knowledge with him in his travels as well. Her ear twitched at his murmurs in his foreign tongue, interested in what words he whispered to himself. He seemed… Intrigued. Which in her mind was a good thing! She circled around herself excitedly, just happy that he seemed to be starting to like the herb. 

She yawned, truly this time, her face turning to that of content now. She looked past the spotted lion and to the sky, the sun had crawled considerably higher than it had when she first arrived. The sky was now a shade of cool blue, and from the looks of it, it appeared that the fog had also rolled its path down the mountain. She was in awe. The view was so beautiful. She could see the shimmer of water droplets clinging to clean vegetation just a ways down from their perch, as well as just how green this peak seemed to be off in the distance. A vastly different shade from what she had grown accustomed to prior to traveling to said mountain. 

She rose to her paws and padded once more to the edge. She sat down, taking in the crisp view. Today seemed like it could be a good day. Morning birds fly overhead, their gentle twittering adding to the scene of it. Between the view, the score, and the company, it already seemed… Nice. 

A nice change of pace for the young lioness.

As Snake stood and took in the sights, Faust kept his eyes trained on the leaves that she'd shown him. He made sure to commit their shape and color to memory, as well as the same attributes of the roots. He'd certainly not forget the taste or smell of the tuber when it was cut.

It was only when he'd had his fill of mentally photographing the plant that his gaze went to where the serpent had slithered off to. She seemed very pleased to have gotten a rather complex point across, through much sweat and tears.

It wouldn't become the angel to receive information and not give anything in exchange. It was a shame that the other rogue seemed content to eat sour roots like some sort of rabbit, so, perhaps he could pay the information back with something actually substantial.

"Mosnem-nisaa, now that you've satisfied your taste for plants perhaps you would like to hunt something with more meat." He shook himself, padding along the edge of the overlook and past Snake. "Follow me, or don't."

He then turned and began the trek down from the lookout.
