Summer
With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! The days are warm, though comfortable, and peeter off into more mild evenings while the humidity remains low. It is the perfect inbetween until things transition towards more sweltering temperatures, so best enjoy it while it is here.

She was rather fond of this ledge. Her lithe frame was stretched out on its side while her head daringly hung partly off the ledge. She looked at the land sideways while her tail tapped the rock idly. She occasionally rumbled to herself, a quiet sound. The view was stunning. It never failed to seize her attention and she liked to hang out up here in the silence. It was far above the chaos of the living where only the avians were consistent company. Her jaws parted in a wide yawn before making a soft click sound as they came back together.

Vitala often enjoyed finding secluded spaces to spend some time getting lost in thought. Her aimless wanderings on this chilly day found her climbing in elevation and navigating the rocky terrain of the peaks that she often looks upon from the sands of the lagoon. She kept her head low, level with her shoulders, as she rounded a bend. To her surprise, the storm-pelted woman happened upon the resting form of another. "Oh," she murmured quietly, "Sorry, I didn't think anyone would be up here." Vitala explained, pausing a moment to test if her presence was going to be cast away or, perhaps welcomed.

It seemed another would follow a similar line of thought. Her voice broke through the silence long after the sound of her footsteps did. Naeina's skull would lift and roll in @Vitala's direction with curiosity written across her dark features. A long moment passed before her head tilted in an inviting gesture. "Come see." A casual offer that would lead the shadowy lioness to get up into a sitting posture to allow the stranger space on Naeina's personal favorite spot. She felt strangely personable, decently into having some kind of company. The whole reason she even ended up in a pride to begin with this time around,

It be seem that she would not be requested to leave. Instead she was beckoned closer to look at whatever the other was looking at. Vitala dipped her head and strode forward until she was beside the shadowed woman, electing to sit down, as well. Crimson eyes scanned the view from where they sat, noting the landmarks she could make out from these heights. Seeing the world she lived in from such a view was truly a sight to see. She was always a fan of finding different perspectives. "It's beautiful up here," Vitala said after a period of silence while they admired the view.

As @Vitala approached, she sniffed quietly. She smelled like the sea and the sand. It reminded her of the pride Crina had taken them to before disaster brought them here. Or... simply brought Naeina here to her knowledge at least. "Yes." She would agree with the other's statement, casting her dual-hued gaze out over the edge of their perch once more. "You can see the herds from here too." She would lift her ink dipped foreleg in the direction of the open space of the fields where it was easy to see the collective groups milling around undisturbed for the moment.

Her eyes found the fields as she pointed them out, looking over the herds and other creatures, watching them go about their day. "Would you look at that," she remarked with a short exhale, pleasantly surprised at how well you could see them. This would actually come in quite handy when she needed it. A much easier way of tracking the herds and their patterns, planning hunting parties. She would have to tell her sister about this sometime. "Do you often come up here to look out upon the lands below, shadowling?" The larger lioness asked, moving her gaze from the view to @Naeina for a brief moment before turning her head back to the horizon.

Naeina had found this perch helpful with hunting too. It was easy to see the area's herds frequented as the time of day and even season changed. She was pleased to share the helpful information, which based on the response was indeed helpful. She may have to go visit the small game later. The question would draw her hellfire gaze towards the grey pelted lioness. "I do." A small point of likability in Vitala's court due to being called 'shadowling' which the vampiress found as an appropriate nickname. "It is peaceful. Quiet. A source of information." She'd answer with a slight nod as she spoke. "Do you?" Question returned with a subtly raised brow.

A low hum reverberated from her chest, nodding in response to @Naeina's answer, feeling likeminded to her. "Peaceful and quiet places are surely much preferred." Though, it purely stems from Vitala's introverted desires. Over the years she has gotten better about branching out and socializing, but she couldn't claim she was very good at it. At least, she didn't feel like she was most times. Since taking a higher position in the lagoon, she has worked through those feelings more and more. "I've only come here once in passing. I didn't take the time to appreciate the view."
There was a moment of silence before she spoke again. "You smell of a land unknown to me," Vitala stated. Of the information she has gathered over her time here, there were still lands and prides she had yet to encounter herself.

"The underground is good for peace." If one could handle being beneath the earth they walked on. Some were likely not as fond of them as she. Naeina had found being alone easier without Crina around, though she had always been the silent observer who preferred to be far from the subject of attention. She'd spent more time outside of groups than in them. @Vitala would ask her about her scent, something Naeina hardly thought about. "Bluffs." She answered simply. "Their banner, not much time in it." She would add with an idle flick of her ear. She actually had no idea about pride relations, nor did she really care unless she had to.

The woman shook her head with a brief chuckle that faded quickly after it was born. "I'm not one to turn my nose up at small spaces, but underground living would be too much for me. As much as I like the darkness." She explained thinking back to the darkness of her birthplace. Her sister had lived in the underground for some time and she wasn't exactly sure how she managed that.
"I'm not familiar with the bluffs," Vitala admitted, but she noted the scent in her memory to recall upon some other time. Couldn't say she'd even run in to anyone with this scent before, either. Her gaze fell on @Naeina, tracing her features, admiring her unique mohawk.
