He would have been a cub just barely weaned when he was taken by a lion known only as ‘Sir’. He was trained to be an assassin, pledged to a king he’d never met, and promised fame and glory for the work he would do.

He was still young when Sir came back with Zaynab, a tiny pink cub that struggled to adapt to her new life and he immediately took up the role of showing her the ropes. They trained together, they played together, and they comforted one another when they needed it. Feelings bloomed between the two, slowly but steadily, and their bond only grew stronger as they grew older. There was once a time they had fooled themselves into believing that nothing could come between them, that they would become a notable assassin team, and raise vicious little cubs together.

Despite their closeness, there was one subject they never discussed: the jobs they were training for. Their future ranks were classified, only to be disclosed to the public when they were ready. They were forbidden from telling one another, and neither of them broke that rule.

They always expected that he would be given his rank first, as he had gone into training before her, but Sir had favored Zaynab.

She was given the title that he was supposed to have, the title he’d been training for his whole life. He only found out they’d been competing against one another the whole time when it was announced to the pride that she was being named the king’s Adviser. He was angry, he felt wronged and betrayed by her and by everyone he’d known. He challenged her for the rank, and despite besting Zaynab in the physical altercation, the king was not swayed. Zaynab was the Adviser, and he was left with nothing but small jobs .

The resentment between them festered and grew, both of them feeling betrayed by one another. Zaynab thought he should be happy for her, and he felt that she’d stolen what belonged to him.

When the king was suddenly found dead, and Zaynab gone without a trace, it was him that was sent to find her. To kill her.

Note: Adviser was the title given to the kings assassin. This lion would never be far from the king and would attend every outing the king went on to keep up public appearances, but their primary function was to act as an assassin and carry out the kings dirty work.

Zaynab is my assassin girl that I have in Wolfbron Bluffs and I’m adopting out her would-be lover turned rival. This unnamed boy would be a bit older than her, with assassin as his master trade. Sub master could be anything, but would most likely be something to help make him a better killer. Something like bard or nursemaid would need a good backstory behind it to make much sense. Name and design are completely up to the adopter, and if the design isn’t too painstakingly complicated for my amateur skills I will be making free arts for him.

I really want some tension and drama between these two, so I of course would like him to be active. If the character does fall inactive I reserve the right to reclaim him.

Personality: Kamau was always a happy cub, sticking near his dear Zaynab doing is best to protect her while young, seeing her as his closest friend- and one day his lover. But as soon as he discovered that She of all people would be given the rank of the king's advisor, his heart shattered. His promised fame and glory was snatched from him by the very one who claimed to love him like no other could. He wanted to be happy for her- in fact he was, happy and proud, but also crushed. He had trained so hard, to be one thing, the one destiny he saw himself fulfilling and in a moment it was gone. Bitterness and anger clouded his judgement, he acted out. For while Zaynab got the glory and fame, he was cast to the shadows being ignored by all. Did he love her? yes. But for what he had been denied, what should have been his and yet was taken, would leave it's mark on him. He became praise seeking and focused on the task ahead constantly, never wanting to disappoint and never hesitating. He's friendly and strong willed nature was replaced with coldness, sarcasm, anger, dishonesty and a determined need to take back his rank, to become who she should have been. Kamau is stealthily, only looks out for himself so why was a part of him still craving the closeness to Zaynab? He won't be cast to the shadows no longer, he was a emotional wreak, but he will commit to the task at hand. So why do his memories of cubhood and his youth with Zaynab make him hesitate? Why does he still dream of times long past, of love and cubs that will never even exist? He feels so torn, so broken.

How does he feel about being sent to kill Zaynab?
he's uncertain, having great doubts about having to kill his old lover, part of him still chases their dream- of children and great teamwork, another part wants to take his leap of faith to finally claim his chance for glory.

Does he miss her or regret pushing her away?
He sees Zaynab as his other half, his one true love, the mother of cubs who should have been, , regretting them falling apart, but desperately holding on to all the work he put in to becoming something that she then took from him. He wants her close, to things to be like before, but has to face the task at hand. He must kill her- to avenge the king and fulfill his mission. Bus his heart is divided.

What does he think happened the night the king died?
He has his doubts that it was Zaynab, but tries to push them aside- Zaynab has the blame and must suffer the price of those crimes, but he can't help but wish with all he is that it's not her, that it was someone else. Maybe Sir? or another cold blooded monster. He certainly knew enough! Who wouldn't hesitate to kill the king. But he has no proof, only what he's been told. He's forced to face his task, kill Zaynab, and rerurn home a hero.

But Kamau isn't sure he has the heart.
