it seemed as though the brook was becoming a common stomping ground for the impala herd, considering that the pride had taken down one not too long ago within their borders. agian, today, nymeria was disturbed by the sound of racing hooves, prompting her slow, methodical approach beneath the cover of the trees. by this point, night was falling across the valley and the sky remained overcast with scattering of dark, gloomy rainclouds -- if she were to be so lucky, the cool embrace of the shadows would serve them well in taking down the pair of creatures, and securing but another successful meal for their growing pride.

finally, the sovereign settled beneath the cover of the canopy, releasing a series of low, quiet chuffs for the company of her kin. it was not the most difficult feat that they had faced as of late, but she still knew that she could not do it alone -- and so, it was patiently that she would wait for their arrival, eyes shifting casually between the prey, and the surrounding bush.

Every day was far better than the last and when his bride called for those to join her in a hunt, he did so without hesitation. Strolling quietly but peacefully through the Brook and toeing the line between knowing this was his pride and still feeling like a visitor sometimes. Certainly took some getting used to but as soon as he would spy her, everything made sense. Eagerly pushing towards her and brushing down her right side from flank to the back of her right ear with his own nose, pressing it gingerly there for a moment before withdrawing. Giving her one last loving look before he centered his gaze on her findings. Not a difficult task but he was happy to help her when she needed it.

3 years, no bonus

Steadily walking through the territory and towards the call to hunt, Talisa felt the itch to action and move. Desperate to cling to some sense of normality even if it was looking to be a rather small group, they could surely take down an Impala with just the three of time. A part of her longed to see her sisters and maybe Farrow participating just to see them but perhaps they were simply busy doing their normal routines. Or figured that they had the easy prey with or without them so chose to lay off given how confident a setting it was turning out to be. With Gareth and Nymeria, the three of them could accomplish it but there was always the more the merrier.

Life in the Brook had been pleasant, slow. Farrow did not mind watching the political chaos from within the safety of their borders, so long as @Talisa and the cubs were there to keep him company, but every so often he found himself itching for some form of excitement. He had almost left the borders of the Brook that day, but just as he was about to embark on a small expedition, the smell of impala and the call of a hunt quickly stayed his paw. He turned, averting his original path until he came upon the forms of his mate, @Nymeria, and @Gareth, another man he'd yet to meet quite before. He came up beside Tali, brushing his shoulder against hers, as he waited for further instruction on their next moves.

when @Gareth approached her side, it took nymeria a moment to settle into this new, and euphoric, life that they now had. she had spent so much time wondering what it would be like to have him here, all the time, and now she was lucky enough to not have to wonder about it anymore. leaning into his touch, the valour planted a brief kiss upon the edge of his maw, albeit the fact that her eyes remained carefully upon the resting impalas, revelling in the warmth and the simple comfort that his presence brought to her. she was confident in their abilities, of course, but was further relieved when @Talisa and @Farrow both joined the hunting party -- for, surely, the four of them would have no issues in taking down today's kill.

and so, after a brief but flurried hunt, the vermedans stood victorious once more. it prompted a wide smile to bloom across the queen's features, eyes searching for her kin as she swelled a foot of space between her and the carcass. "well, that was a nice double-date!" she cooed cheekily, flashing a grin whilst her tail gave a brief flicker, before settling her haunches down against the earth. giving the rest of them an opportunity to have a bite, nymeria would wait patiently until they were all clered and finished, before moving the meal back towards the cache for the rest of the pride. exit.

To be fair, Gareth would have done anything and everything that @Nymeria asked him to do without question. After all, she was everything and then some to the wayward life that had lived and while he was still getting used to the Brook, he couldn't imagine being anywhere else. So long had he looked forward to being by her side more permanently and here he was getting his whole dream and then some.

To be teaming up with Talisa and what was assumed to be her new beau @Farrow was unexpected but wonderful all the same. They did their work flawlessly and as the two pairs seemed to coordinate with their own significant other, Gareth found a certain thrill in seeing the romance blossom. After all, he was a hopeless romantic that would give anything and everything to see love shared between one and another. A great team-up, he addressed easily as he eyed the other Valour pair before sneaking a bold nuzzle to his wheat beauty. Knowing full well that he would die for her if need be, all she had to do was say the word.

To that he was quiet as Talisa prayed, Gareth being a few seconds late to bow his head in respect for what she was doing. While he wasn't exceptionally spiritual, he had met Maua and knew that they existed. So it was with that knowledge that he at least knew who he was praying to and could picture them in his mind as he did so before following Talisa's words and helping to get the other one. Offering with a single look to @Nymeria that he was happy to carry the brunt of it on his back so that she didn't have to lift a toe. exit gareth

Talisa was thrilled as the hunt came to a close and she was able to catch her breath, more than happy to have @Farrow at her side. Even if he was a mild distraction for her and made her feel all the more giddy, knowing that this was still a fresh face among the Brook. Morrigan had never been to a hunt before since she wasn't a pride member but she was more than thankful to have her stud of a mate here to witness.

A lovely date indeed, she cooed as she brushed the top of her head underneath the strength of her soldier's chin. Love and appreciation simply oozing out of her like -- well, she'd probably say sap but sap was too slow. Perhaps blood but again, too dark for Talisa. Because there was no rhyme or reason for Talisa to not say her prayers before indulging in the feast or the carry of their meal. It was respectful that she give thanks where it was necessary and given that the hunt ended well with no one injured expect their target, it was a good day, indeed.

Let's take this back, shall we? Talisa began to hoist a part of the one of the impala's knowing that her beau would help her with it and likely lend more strength to it than she could. exit talisa
