Prompt: A pair of rhinoceri have decided to do a polar bear swim. Or more like a polar bear wade as they remain within easy reach of the shore.

[OOC: 5 years old, no bonuses] The splashing caught her attention as she ambled that direction, pausing far enough back to watch the two armored giants wade in the frigid waters. Sangria smiled almost ferally as she shifted to crouch near a large snow covered Boulder. In the cold of the north her pelt kept her warm, and it wasn't something that bothered the Amazonian. Still, she knew no matter how large she was, hunting rhinos solo was a fools errand. So for the moment, the Rainforest female simply watched and waited. Bi colored gaze continually sweeping the area for signs of others.. those interested in the hunts and those interested in other things. Roan had said the pride had no enemies, but she knew it was only a matter of time until someone decided to test the mostly unknown members of the rainforest.

4 Years old, no bonuses He was feeling better, more like a living thing and not a wetted down lump of meat and fur. But even if his body was healing that still meant he need to keep himself fed, sure as hell no one else was going to do it. Grigori had seen many a strange and oft horrifying thing in his life, but this was something new. A pair of massive beasts with horns that sprouted from the tops of their noses were wading through the lake before him, they didn't even seem bothered by the water despite their lack of any meaningful amount of fur. How...strange. But also potentially edible, and judging by a nearby scent on the air he wasn't the only one to come around to study the pair of animals. The hunter was foolhardy but even he knew better than to waltz up to such large beasts with only himself as the cavalry. So he would hang back for the time being, waiting to see if anyone else would appear to make the odds more even and by extension see how the lions in this land felt about sharing the spoils of a kill.

She'd have liked to see it when snow and ice still dominated the slopes, as it would've reminded her so strongly of her homeland then. It's still beautiful in its own way, though, leading her deeper into her exploration rather than turning her away as the slopes sank toward water. Down she goes, unaware of the sight waiting to greet her. She can't smell this one, isn't led to it by scent, merely by coincidence. Yet rounding a corner and spying the large.. whatever they were.. in the shallows there piques her interest nonetheless. They're bulky and massive, heavier than perhaps all the lions she'd ever seen at once. Yet a pair of lions linger nearby, watching and waiting, so Urs wonders if perhaps they intended to hunt these monstrous creatures. It makes her wonder what they'd even taste like, but she suspects they'll need a few more bodies to give her a chance to try.

Compared to the others, Avaneira felt more at home. The bitter chill of the north even as the winter receded felt comforting to her thicker pelt; she bristled against the wind, maneuvering comfortably between the trees as she came upon a scent, and another gathering group. This one appeared smaller so far, and whether there would be less of them or if Avaneira arrived early, only time would tell. Their prey, however, was particularly tricky. A rhinoceros had strayed far north from its herd, and would not do well to linger in these northern territories for too long. How unlucky it would be however depended upon the group's success, and Avaneira was keen to see if they could take such a creature down.

Kasia seemed to be doing rather well to continue stumbling upon these things. The extra small lioness is just out and minding her own business when she happens to find a group of lions standing around and staring at prey. This time there were rhinoceri. And the size of the group didn't look anything capable of taking down the pair of large beasts. Maybe more would stumble upon them as she had done.

The lioness crept slowly closer towards the water's edge. She didn't want to spook the animals. Not that she was so worried about them getting away but more so because she didn't want to get trampled upon in the process.

Spring came creeping up from the south and the thick-pelted lioness limped north. She sorely missed the theft of her seal. She wanted bigger game. If it were not so hot then she could have defended her kill better. She walked slowly to avoid overheating. She enjoyed the chill running through her fur. It would help her when they all started to run. Because there was something here, a familiar scent that she had tried to take down before and failed, but lions were gathering and drool flecked down her jowls as she padded to join them. She shouldered through them boldly assuring for herself the most prominent space at the head of the group. She had chased a rhino before. And she was hungry. She had shit to prove and they were gonna listen! "OK! We hungry!" Toothily she beamed at them. Good way to start off! "They got sharp horns! So we go bite them in da butt. Most of us go for da butt... and some jump on their backs so they no turn so fast." It was a brilliant plan that had not taken her any time to put together because she was totally talking out of her ass here.

"2 years, no bonuses" This place was absolutely freezing. Sarabi couldn't help but feel that it had been a mistake to come here, her coat was definitely not built for this kind of weather especially so early in the season. Whatever. Something else here was more interesting than complaining to herself about the chill, a hunting party and prey. She hoped those pointy nosed idiots froze out there, but not before she could get a hold of them and at least a few mouthfuls. However this went down, Sarabi was not going into that water when the air temperature was enough to make her shiver. So she crouched lower, listening as one of the gathered hunters called out about avoiding the faces of their quarry. Yeah, it sure would suck to get speared by one of the world's most lost rhinos. How had they even gotten here!? "1/2 Ranger: +20 Join another rangers hunt 1/2 Ranger: +20 Join others in a random event hunt 1/2 Ranger: +10 Rolled hunt"

The mottled feline came upon the scene as instructions were being given out. He look from the small group of lions to the two rhinos that were being considered. The odds didn't really seem to be in the favor of the lions. "So that would be four per rhino? Two at the butt and two on the back?" He queried, trying to figure out where the lioness's head was at. He's never hunted anything this large before and she seemed to be the only one with a plan currently.

If it worked, great. If not, then they knew better than to try that again. Still, it would be a pretty decent haul if the lot of them could manage to take down the pair.

The feeling of the cold wind blowing against her hide made her feel alive. The snow under her paws that crunched with each step tickled her ears until her nose picked up the scent of prey and the voices of others. Slowly she moved to join the gathered. Scanning each one she took in the sights around her. There was many here but the prey of choice would require all the help they could get. It would be tricky. Not just one but two rhinos. “Hmm…” The sound slipped her lips if she wondered if perhaps greed was getting in the way of logic. Though she wasn’t the one leading this hunting party. She would however offer support to the hunting party. Perhaps she would be able to snag something to take back to the Bluffs with her. She did have chargers to take care of and feed. Not just little charges either but an adult who she had promised she’d feed until he was fully healed. Call her a softly for her friends but she needed to make sure she could feed everyone she had promised to provide for. So she waited in silence for the hunt to begin.
