The cold heart truth was that perhaps he did love her, or maybe he didn’t. Maybe there had been something troubling his heart that he didn’t want to tell her. Or maybe he was just selfish and using her emotions as a way to control her. They had talked about having cubs but only if she had joined him in Scilla Lagoon because it was too dangerous for her to travel to him from the Bluffs with cubs and he didn’t want to go to her since he had others to love. Honestly she didn’t realize just how much of a harem the lagoon had been as she never visited it due to him asking her to stay away. That should have been a major red flag on in itself.

“You. I am starting to see that. You haven’t been the only one to say that.” she softly yet calmly said replying to the comment about her mate. “Love blinds the truth sometimes.” She mused with a sigh.

“I need to pluck up the courage to go to the Lagoon and talk to him, but I am afraid Oberon might really hate me for it. He did tell me to stay away from his home while I still live within the Bluffs.” Turning her head she looked towards the way that leads to the lagoon but didn’t stand to go there. Not yet. She was worried he wouldn’t love her anymore and would want nothing to do with her. Still she was so close she should just go get it over with and ripe off the bandaid.

So he wasn't the only one that had told her about that. Had thrown the truth in her face. Interesting. But it was how she said it so calmly that caused him to really watch her closely. "It does. But sometimes it also helps us understand the truth." He would admit. "Your first love is always the hardest. Sometimes it can be the best thing to us and last forever, and sometimes - just sometimes - our first love is what tears us apart to only make us stronger." His first love, if you want to call it that, was Philo. She was a delicate flower in his barbed treasure and had been his peace. Or so he had thought. Gala had been his fire, but Hecuba? Hecuba was everything that he needed and wanted. She was his fire and peace. The key to the deadbolt that locked away the dragon.

"That should've told you he didn't care for you. I once lived in the Hollow's ruling alongside a former ally, and my wife became pregnant. She traveled and I traveled from the Hollow to the Cove. Love has no distance. No boundaries." Anyone that loves you won't care if you're in a pride that he doesn't like. He's there for you. At least that was how Drakon saw it.

Eyes cast out at the sea once more she listened to @Drakon. He seemed like a good lion. Perhaps it was good to get an unbiased opinion on things. Her heart and her head had told her to do two different things. Everyone was telling her different things and she honestly didn’t know what to make of it. She needed to figure things out. To refocus her mind and listening to the lion speak was helping. It honestly didn’t really matter now she had chosen her pride over her love, but just maybe things would work out in the end for the best. Head nodding she looked back at Drakon and gave a polite smile. “Thank you for the advice. I well take it into mind in the coming days as I think about what shall happen now.” Her voice was calm as she looked down at the sea and saw a group of fish close to the shore. “I am not in the best shape to hunt currently, but please allow me to thank you with something to eat.” She offered as she stood and walked into the water. Standing in the shallow part near the school of fish she watched them and waited for a good moment before using her paw with outstretched claws. Swiping at the fish she was slow but managed to snag one by the tail. It was a smaller one. Flinging it upwards towards the shore near Drakon. She hoped he would grab it before it could flop back into the water as she stayed where she was still fishing for another.

"You're welcome. I don't normally give out advice so easily but, I know it can help." He didn't give advice out at all, especially relationship advice cause we all know that he wasn't the best husband in the beginning. Granted, Drakon and Hecuba have been together for years now and things have changed but in the beginning it was rough. Drakon had been a polygamous male who wanted more than one wife, but then he made a promise to Hecuba to never take on another wife and that was the end of that. Though it caught him off guard when she wanted to get him something to eat and fiery jewels blinked. Drakon didn't really have an option it seemed as a fish soon landed in front of him and a massive paw landed on it, causing it to stop in it's flopping tracks and pierced the flesh until it was moving no more. "Thank you." It dawned on him then, he hadn't introduced himself to her. "I am Drakon Tollaire by the way."

Waiting for another fish to come near after the school settled back together the orange faced lioness was quiet. A mix of not wanting to scare the fish and listening to the lion. Everyone seemed to want to give her advice, but she had a lot to sort though. She had to figure out what thoughts were her own and what were the ones put in her head by others. Mostly she knew she needed to go see Oberon. Talking with him would help, but maybe she shouldn’t do so alone. Maybe she should return back to the Bluffs and ask Zoticus to come with her to speak with him. Having both lions near her as she tried to work things out sounded like a good way to anchor her mind.

Moving her paw again, claws out stretched she grabbed another fish and flung it forward. Moving towards it she pounced on it with a grunt of pain running through her. The salty cold water hadn’t felt that great and she was glad to be out of it. Seeing that @Drakon had stopped the fish she had tossed his way she smiled. Hearing him introduce himself she nodded realizing she hadn’t given her name either. “I am Arjana. Pleasure to meet you Drakon.” She said softly as she stood there on the fish she had just caught. She didn’t much enjoy fish and planned to take this one back to Wolfbron with her to put in the storage. “I know fish probably aren’t the greatest thank you, but at the moment it is the best I can do.” She added politely.

"A pleasure as well @Arjana." He would state once she had returned to the shoreline and introduced herself to him. He had given no title. No rank. He wanted her to treat him like any other lion and not one of a higher rank than she. To him, Arjana was his equal. Well not as equal as Hecuba but not lesser than him in regards of her gender. His paw stayed on the fish as he would glance towards the now dead animal back to the woman before him. "It's alright. My wife will enjoy it more than me probably." He would chuckle. He wasn't a huge fan of fish even though he lived at the Cove.

Giving another dip of her head she really didn’t know what else to say. She was however starting to get cold and tired. There was a rather slow and long ways to go back to the Bluffs so perhaps she should take her fish and head back. Ears twist as @Drakon said his wife would probably enjoy the fish. This made her happy even if he didn’t enjoy the fish himself she was grateful that perhaps someone would. “Well, I hope she does and I shouldn’t keep hogging your attention from her.” She said letting out a polite almost meek chuckle. “I shall be off. I have a ways to travel back to the Bluffs and a lot to think about. Again thank you and goodbye Drakon.” Picking up her fish she dipped her head again before heading off towards home.

Drakon would chuckle as she mentioned keeping his attention away from Hecuba. If only she knew just how much attention his wife really desired majority of the time. "Be safe Arjana." He would state, watching her closely and wondering if perhaps he should be escorting her back to the Bluffs. He wasn't sure if the rogues that were attacking the women were out and about but he also didn't want to step on any toes as he would watch her leave the shore's. He barely knew her but Drakon was worried about her. There were many things that she needed to learn and she would eventually. So for now, Drakon would lean down and would grab the fish and begin his trek back to the Cove.
