June Y13
Summer
With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! The days are warm, though comfortable, and peeter off into more mild evenings while the humidity remains low. It is the perfect inbetween until things transition towards more sweltering temperatures, so best enjoy it while it is here.

Ever since Mom and Neph's event, Gostir had found himself on edge. Even a cub of his age, he can tell and feel the tension in his Father's mood. It had changed. Everything had changed however, he couldn't put it together at such a young age and that was troubling to him. So, the growing Tollaire boy would leave the den and go towards the shores that lined the home he loved so much but would never admit to it. Even at such a young age, he hid his emotions very well. But he was still troubled.

it was about time she removed herself from the den and walked around. her cubs were able to roam and play without fear of tripping over themselves now. she spots @Gostir a few steps away, along the shore. the boy seemed a bit glum so she approached. chuffing a greeting, she takes a spot next to him.
Willoughby had never met the boy before, but she had seen him around. he had to be Hecuba's cub. yes, she could see both parents in him. "hello there" the new mother purrs happily, only too cheerful to meet a new face "my name is Willoughby; do you mind if I join you?" despite his age, despite not needing permission, she asks it anyway. it was just the polite thing to do!

He was so far into his mind that Gostir had not heard the paw steps that came up next to him until a female's voice hit his cub ear drums and caused him to jump a little bit before relaxing. The woman smelled of the Cove and fresh children with milk. Something his own Mother smelled of every now and then but it had begun to fade with him getting older. {Gostir and sure.} He would state, answering her simply. She seemed nice and though he trusted her only because they were in the same pride, still didn't stop his mind from wondering.

"Gostir" she repeats, beaming down at him "you know, I have three little girls" Willoughby trails off briefly before going back to the point "they are old enough to play with, if you want. it'd be nice to see them make friends. no pressure though!" she adds with a light giggle. he definitely did not need to be friends with her girls, but it'd be nice to see the Cove children together.
it would be a very lovely thing to see, especially since cubs were limited to their prides. having friends was a wonderful thing indeed. "is your Mama named Hecuba, by any chance?" she would ask the boy "I met her and your father, if so" if he was the quiet sort, she'd gladly fill the gap of silence. Willoughby liked to talk. but she talked for the sake of socializing, not to hear herself talk. she was not so vain. but she did fall silent, allowing @Gostir the chance to answer if he wanted.

Well she was a very chirpy one and that was some what annoying to him but the Tollaire child would not let it show. It was something he was becoming a pro at. No emotion crossed his growing features. "Okay." He would shrug at her comment of making friends with her children before the mention of Father and Mother arrived. He would eye her with fiery jewels before mentally shrugging it away. "Yes they are, doesn't surprise me. Father is social when it comes to a pride." He had been told stories of his parents rule and knew all to well that he may not get his father's attention.

he seemed to be a quiet little boy. she was unable to know how to relate to him if he didn't let anything out, but that was fine. she would try regardless. he was part of the pride, Hecuba's son, and Hecuba was important to them all along with Drakon. "I haven't the pleasure to talk to your father" she informs him "I've only spoken to your mother."
Hecuba had nothing but pride in the boy and her children. the bard could clearly see that in. "she speaks very highly of you" Willoughby informs him gently, trying to gauge a reaction "you know" she goes on, staring across the waters "I would like to get a gift for your mother. do you know what she likes?"

Ah, so she hadn't met the famous Drakon Tollaire. Odd. But Gostir wasn't going to argue about that as he would soon listen to her speak about Hecuba, with got his attention. He may be just like his father, but it was Hecuba that really had him on a leash. If you wanted to call it that. He was a Mama's boy. And when he heard that Hecuba spoke highly of him, it caused pride to swell into his chest as he would then hear that @Willoughby wanted to get her a gift. {Um.. Sea Shell's.}

"a sea shell... good idea!" she praises the boy warmly, rising from her spot to jog down to the shore for true "would you like to help me pick one out?" she adds over her shoulder at @Gostir. he knew his mother better than Willoughby, so he would know what colors and shapes she would enjoy.
it would seem talking about Hecuba was a good way to break his own shell. she was happy that Gostir was opening up in his own little way. she begins to walk along the beach, trying to find some good shells. a little song slips by her lips, her mind trying to recall what songs about sea shells she knew...

He stood there as she began to walk off. Completely content with leaving her to her own devices but apart of him wanted to make sure that this gift was perfect for mother dearest and when offered to join her, Gostir moved after her without a second thought. As if his paws had a different mind of their own and lead him after her. Ears twitching on top of his head as he heard her humming. His yellow jewels looking around for any sea shells he thought Hecuba would like.
