The maned lioness had arrived in the dawn's light to the everglade, she traversed carefully down the slopes noting the tall grass that tickled along her sides. Isolda hadn't seen such a thing before, such tall grass perfect for those grazers like buffalo and zebra but not here it seemed. Isolda shifted through the tall grass noting the dew on it as it tickled her fur and she paused listening to her surroundings, did anything live out here?

The glade wasn't the most interesting place she had ever seen, but it certainly had plenty of poisonous plants for her to gather. She wanted so badly to create a garden of them back in the cove, but she knew there were cubs running around, and if one of them ate something from it she could only imagine the trouble she would get into with Jewel.

So, she roamed the glade, learning the terrain of it and picking out the locations were plants were most likely to grow. Of course, she quickly realized she wasn't alone. She paused, looking in the woman's direction, peering at the patch of grass she'd seen moving a moment before. Hmm, and who might this be?

The scent of a lioness entered her nostrils which flared at the smell, she preferred the company of woman to men most often. Though a fun guy like Oberon was a different case. Isolda looked in the direction of the scent and smiled softly in her direction. Weird how she didn't speak but ok. ”Hola,” she greeted with her usual Spanish then approached her carefully. ”what brings you out here?” she asked wondering if she had a purpose in this territory.

She summoned a genial smile as the other woman greeted her, deciding to play the friendly lioness this time around, at least until she knew a little bit more about this woman.

"I'm checking the territory for any useful plants," she replied, perking up now that she had been spoken to and grinning hopefully. "Maybe you'd like to help me? Unless you're doing something else of course."

Come on, play nice and you can get some information she told herself. Whether or not it would ever be useful, who knew, but anything was better than nothing. She didn't smell of a pride unfortunately, so she couldn't learn about one of those, but that was all right. Sometimes rogues learned interesting things that those within prides couldn't.

Isolda had met her fair share of angry lions and lionesses, nothing obscene yet, but it meant she wasn't naive about anything. ”hm? I can help, I'm just exploring here. Trying to find what uses this area has.” she said with a shrug of her shoulders. So far all she discovered was that the tall grass might hold some little nooks and crannies that could hide small cubs. A safe haven for a rogue lioness or a lioness who wanted her children to stay put while she hunted.

”You have a name?” she asked with a smile moving to approach her then looked as a bird flew out of the nearby grass, her ears pushing forward with interest.

"Me too," she replied chipperly. "There's so many things to find in these lands!" Oh, how she hated playing the sweet act. It made her teeth hurt. She didn't have any other choice now though; her decision had been made and she was going to stick with it. She was already getting further than she would have had she been surly though.

It occurred to her that she could just lie, but keeping track of things like that wasn't something she wanted to do. Besides, the family name likely wasn't known here, so no one would think it odd. "Arcana X'uekai," she said with a quick nod of greeting. "I live in Caladan Cove."

Isolda's ears flicked back slightly in irritation at the overly sweet tone this lioness was taking. Brows furrowing as she appeared as excited as cub over such trivial things. A low hum left her throat while she nodded, ”Isolda Hodari, rogue.” she introduced softly. Then moved a bit further into the tall grass, ”What are your skills Arcana?” she asked curious to see if she could keep up that attitude or get down to earth with Isolda.

Hodari eh? She said it like it meant something, so Arcania tucked it into the back of her mind for safekeeping. She padded after the other woman genially enough, keeping her steps quiet in case she wanted to hunt for something.

Heh, well, she couldn't exactly tell her what she really did now, could she? If she said she was studying up on sneak attacks, poisons, and lying, then that wouldn't at all go with what she'd displayed so far. But, she didn't want to stray too far from the truth either, so she wouldn't have to remember the lie later.

"I'm working on becoming an ambassador!" she said. Sure, that was close enough. Information gathering, but not in a sneaky, underhanded way, right? Ugh, this was hard.

"So is the Hodari family really big?" she asked as she looked over the tall grass, noticing that it would be excellent for hiding in, both for hunting and, well, sneaking around spying on others. Yes, tell me more please.
