The changing of the seasons whispered the promise of a full rotation around the sun for the second time in the young male's life. He would soon reach the milestone that was adulthood and inherit all that came with it.

Already his ambition snapped hungrily at the slow crawl of time, eager to put youth behind him and begin his trek to the pinnacle of adulthood. He desired to prove himself, and in so doing so, take power unto himself to wield as he saw fit. He had trained hard to get where he was now, a little more and he could stand among the more seasoned titans of the arena.

Eyes of varied hues would dance across the skyline, searching for the pallid form of a small albino crow. She was not far, flying above in wide lazy circles. The pair where on a journey today, moving backwards in a sense, as they entered the stony bridge of the passage from the opposite direction of most.

Here he would relax, long lengths of curled mane offering warmth against the growing chill of evening. Kraai. He called out, met with a brief fluttering of wings before the crow would come to perch on his shoulder. Where shall we visit next? He absently mused, answered with a 'kaw.'_{BG — ART — CODE}

It was an interesting role-reversal, in a sense. The pale, fluffy, male had come from within Ama, it seemed, while Zaahir was on his way home from a trip around the passage. Silvery gaze followed the bird as it landed, "I can recommend a nice oasis." Zaahir came with a friendly grin as he neared the stranger, trotting a few paces past only to turn and face him. "Neat bird," pale, and not a species he was particularly familiar with, but neat.

"I'm Zaahir, from Andal. I saw you coming out, so does that mean you're looking for somewhere new?" Maybe he'd been a rogue who found this approach simpler than visiting prides one by one? Or maybe he'd just left whatever his previous pride was and didn't have a solid idea of where he wanted to go next?

the andal cat is much more casual, much more conversationally social than queen brighid could ever even pretend to be. she hears their good natured chatter as she arrives and it is just enough to distract her from the numbing ache in her paws. the queen doesn't encroach much on either of their space, stopping a small distance away from them to remain in earshot and speak without having to raise her voice across the peninsula.

as her gaze falls on the pastel swirls of the lion, she notices the white bird perched on his shoulder. its a curious thing. she remembers teaching her brood to hunt and stalk early and a small bird such as that would have been left beautifully blood stained on the woodland snow, its feathers plucked for trinkets.

sweet, sweet memories.

"i am queen brighid of illyria," she injects after @Zaahir ♔, ears tilting forward to await any response from the rogue as to his search for something new. "the summit may appeal to you, depending on your intentions."

Jet was nervous.

Of course, he’d volunteered for this, but now that the task was upon him he felt the pressure of it, the desire for his first attempt at cajoling someone back to the Oasis to go perfect and successful. He was aware the desert wasn’t everyone’s preferred locale, even if it suited him and his kin best, and he worried about his ability to sell it when so much of it he simply took for granted as being obviously superior. The oasis, the rocks, the sands… It all screamed “home” to him.

“You won’t find any better shade trees…the sands are excellent for training…sure it gets hot, but that’s what the oasis is for…” Strings of practiced phrases passed his lips in a quiet, muttering whisper, working them over one last time in his head as he approached the passage. Just right…he had to get this just right to make it work. @Zaahir ♔ was taking a chance on him, appointing him Gentry when he was still so young and inexperienced—not that his leader was much older. Still, he needed to prove he could do this.

What he hadn’t anticipated was having Zaahir right there to witness it. Or rather…beating him to his own job. As Jet’s lavender eyes alighted on his High Sovereign, already speaking to a lavender-hued stranger as another pale figure approached, he felt a sudden and striking disappointment. Did this mean he wasn’t doing his job well enough? Should he have been here sooner? Set help me, what do I do now?

Well…he was already here.

The long, lanky chartreux lion approached quietly, just in time to hear the pale lioness offer her own name and station as a fellow ruler—the woman from the snowy mountain, he remembered her! @Brighid ♔ seemed to have recovered well from that fight and carried herself with every bit of poise and dignity he thought the island could possibly possess. As rigid and imposing as her wintry homeland, Jet was somewhat glad he wasn’t handling this alone, though until he said something he wasn’t handling this at all.

“If you’re after an exotic paradise,” he offered @Daedric as he came up alongside Zaahir, brandishing one of his roguish smiles, “the Oasis may be just what you need.” It wasn’t at all what he’d been practicing, but it also sounded far better to him than anything he’d rehearsed. He shot his leader a quick look, a smile, hoping he was alright to join him, hoping he wasn’t overstepping or making things more difficult. He stuffed down the nerves crawling in his belly and instead tried to stay present to offer whatever assistance he could in helping this stranger make his choice.
