Matthieu Bellefontaine - Matti is a lion deeply rooted in his heritage and he holds a budding connection to the spirits (Loas) of his world; his spiritual journey is ongoing as he works to rebuild his faith and he’s determined to raise these children with a blend of his own traditions and those of his wife. A wife who he holds an unwavering amount of love for. This love and devotion will be a shining example of what his relationship means to him. He’s also got quite the overzealous personality and loves to have a good time, sharing stories and feasting as much as possible.

Diomedeidae Valour - A daughter of Maua's creation with simultaneous great reverence and even greater doubt in her creator. In addition to raising them up knowing Maua, Dio will also place a heavy emphasis on the spirits and other manner of things in the afterlife. More than likely she will be undergoing some personality shifts here soon as she will have a lot to deal with and process. But regardless these children will be her first real joy after the events of her wedding and, while Mom may seem a little off the deep end at times, her love for them will be endless.

The exact circumstances under which these kids will be born is not set in stone. But if things don't change before their birth they will be born on the soils of enemy controlled Vermeda Brook and will not have Dad around yet (it's unclear when he'll even learn Dio is pregnant). Regardless of where they are born and who is around these kids are being brought into a world deep with conflict and many, many fresh wounds having been inflicted on their family.

(Naming)
The Bellefontaine family tends to have names of Cajun origin. Haitian names work just as well! He’s very unpicky and would be happy with anything. Some of his family members’ names include his father, Gilbert (ZHEEL-BEHR), his mother, Sabine, and his siblings, Aymond, Zacharie, and Amour
Other fun name options: Augustin, Marcien, Thibaut, Rénauld, Sylvian, Bernadette, Sylvette, Inès

The Valour traditionally have names either of Latin origin or from the Game of Thrones series. Specifically Dio would lean into either star themes (to honor Grandpa Caligula) or bird themes (Diomedeidae and Aquila are both bird related) regardless of their language origin. But really anything is fair game for her!
Some name ideas from her: Tyto, Cygnus, Pyxis, Cardea, Discordia, Hypatia

Surnames can be either of their parent's or a hyphenation. We are also both ok if you want to pick later, change the surname down the line, etc with whatever feels most appropriate for the character.

Their genetic pool contains the extra fluffy mutation (Dio & Aquila), Maneless Male/Maned Female (Caligula), and Tailless (Matthieu). They also have an assortment of sock markings in their genetics (Dio & Matthieu), global roaning/spotting (Matthieu), and then a dorsal stripe as well (Aquila). Ideas for bonus markings can also be taken from the other members of the Bellefontaine or Valour family. We are okay with gender swaps and if you would like to disregard the random mutations!

Oh, sweet wild child. What is it that you see? Altaire is a child borne of nights most untamable; she is gifted with such a meek, fragile vessel, yet she listens not to it. Her early days are spent running and playing — a gentle soul. She has it not within her to harbor hate or resentment, nor can she fully understand the hatred which is found in the world around them. Innocent, naïve.

As she grows, it is likely she will find a fond attachment to her mother, although she loves father Matthieu just as much...Something is different. Ah, she's a mama's girl.

Altaire spends many a day daydreaming and staring at seemingly nothing — likely much to the dismay of her parents. She is a bundle of purity and love, trying to see the best in those around her ( Although if this, too, shall pass will be up to the events she encounters throughout her time in Amaryllis. ) She takes her religious upbringing seriously, and I plan for her to show a penchant for learning early on: always rambling her parents ears off with questions.

Emotional, she is observant of the world around her, and I hope for her to be able to pick up a bit more on the emotions of those whom she holds close. ( Perhaps being reasoning for her picking up either the Medic or Bard trade ) Altaire loves to mend others in all planes: spiritually, physically, and emotionally. A light in an otherwise dim world, I want her amiable nature to reflect in my writing of her.

But it's hard to hope for peace when the world you know is so filled with evil.

The circumstances of her conception will wedge a harsh divide between her pure, innocent idealism and the harsh truth of society in Amaryllis. She will struggle heftily to reconcile her faith knowing the vast existence of suffering in the world around her — something one cannot turn a blind eye to, no matter how much Altaire wishes she could. The trauma of an unexperienced past weighs heavily on her young spirit, and, thus, she often grapples with a deep-rooted fear of losing her family to the very same conflict which has shaped her existence. War. She will do everything she can to prevent it.

When he comes into the world he is but a babe, a creature kissed by the likings of stardust and sparkled with the blessings of cosmos. avarice. within an incarnation of sins recognized by the modern arts of civilization. built from within by the temples of Gaia and the spirit's willingness to bless the ones that he has come from. Innate knowledge and undeniable power lie only beyond the grasp of a feather's fingertips, and yet he cares little for such factions. A babe. Squandered by uncertainty - and while his brothers and sisters seek more of a zealous approach at life he will remain submissive. A quiet and caged canary with feathers preened and plucked so eloquently that it is but a shame the only words that are ever uttered from pursed lips are those of riddled uncertainties. Unlike his sister, his devotion to the religious will be nimble - a learned trait that cannot quite be grasped within fullness. Though, in no way is he a heretic. For the teaching of his mother will be upheld with the utmost respect - even if he can never quite grasp the concept of ethereal divinity to it’s fullest.

Some may say he was built wrong - or simply is just a child that was cursed for his lack of opinion. Though - if he would say so, Thérèse would argue differently saying that listening rather than speaking holds more power than words uttered in ignorance. A dreamer. A lover. A believer. A boy.

Name: Accipiter Bellefontaine-Valour
Trades: Cleric | Paladin
Pronouns: He/She/They

Accipiter is the host of many "souls", known OOC as a "system" or DID (dissociative identity disorder). He has an intense interest in the afterlife and souls/spirits both due to this and his father's spirituality, taught to him by his mother in youth and (hopefully) his father later in life. His alternate souls, "alters", will take various forms which I will develop more specifically while playing, but they will each have thier own names, personality, and pronouns that would be indicated throughout Accipiter's POV. I plan for him to have at least one female alter, which will be the first to make contact, and the rest will be created as feels right.

The primary female alter's name will be Ame, from the french word for spirit, and she and Accipiter will pick this name together as they navigate what they are. She is a gentle and kind soul who only wants the best for Ace (her nickname for him) and can speak directly to him. Not all the alters can speak to each other directly and not all of them can see each other's POVs when they are fronting (in control of the body).

Accipiter will have a strong desire to protect others so that the tragedy of his mother's wedding does not happen again, although he alone does not have the power to carry this out. His alters respect his desire and they will all mutually agree to pursue the paths of cleric and paladin.


Notes: I myself am a system and I'd be pulling from my own experience as well as a few friends that are systems who helped me work through discovering that I am one. I would do my best to portray it as respectfully as possible although it may not match everyone's experience because everyone is different.
