Much to his misanthropic delight, the Pit is empty on a most opportune night - the dusty bowl from scrape to scrape, crowned in blood and filth and bones, hollow beneath a half moon and a cool, ghosting mist of rain. For a long while he's traversed the lonesome crater, but the sightseeing is a boring fare in such a place without its pièce de résistance; it begs for more, a want for wants. The hallowed ground writhes with hunger, with need, with an appetite. Penance. Sacrifice. And who is he to deny? Gauthier draws himself at length short of the center of the ring and roars for a challenger. And in the idle time that follows, he paces the dirt and stretches his muscles to limber them, though their tense response is a disappointing reminder that he's been remiss of battle too long.

What an splendid night, splendid for a good nocturnal brawl. How she enjoyed those, how she loved to feel the adrenaline before bed. Fighting for fun was both mentally and physically pleasing for the maned woman. Who with a determined walk entered the ring, the ring of battle and war. And those were what fueled her existence, her life. Eyes of melted fire landed on a solitary figure, a man. What a good opportunity. She descended swiftly to his presence. Cold but predatory expression, getting ready for the fight. Shoulders rolling, paws extending for balance. She was a bit taller but she never took size in consideration to find an opponent's worth, skill and ferocity held more weight for her. No words just actions, that was how she played.

She began her assault by rushing head on toward the man , aiming to go to his left in a perpendicular position, hopping to get to his middle back as she attempted to wrap her fore legs around his rib cage, claws extended, while she aimed to sink her teeth on the skin between his shoulders, aiming to dominate him.

The sheen of the moon cast between pulling clouds breaks the line of her in-gallop by a sleight, and before he can smell or hear the plod of her on the hard ground he shifts by the means of the flicker alone. A flame on the battlefield, the rush of her tunnels his way and he invites warmly only by a grin, the flattening of his ears, the grit of his nails and the brace of his body.

He swung to meet @Alma as she attacked his left - swerving to lighten the blow of the momentous bulk of her, nonetheless catching a claw raked across the left high-side of his ribcage and her teeth digging the fat and skin over the hard plate of his left shoulder. He retaliates with no less brutality - attempting to push his weight into her and reach with his jaws to grab ahold of the base of her nape. Swinging his right arm with the motion of his body, he attempts to press a curled paw-ful of claws in the ridge of her lower spine amidst his effort to clamp down on her neck.

Ears pinned and eyes narrowed Alma had all of the attention into the fight with the handsome stranger. In the brief moment she had to contemplate his features she could tell he was nice, seemed strong. Traits missing in many men she had seen out lately, but today she was here to fight him. Flirting could come another day unless aiming to get on top of him could be seen as her own way to do so in the shape of trying to impress him. But without high illusions. As she sought to get on top of him, he would switch so they now faced each other, or partially. Making her claws to not meet the intended two sides but only the left side. But she would accept to had at least got a good contact and cause some skin rupture, small but hoping to draw blood. There was not victory or fun without the crimson included her own. As her teeth connected with the skin of his shoulder plate, she felt how he went to catch her nape between his jaws. To which she would attempt to use the attack against him. Gauthier has - on occasion - made notice as to the attraction of women: savage, curvaceous, beautiful women that make the strain of his eyes easier and the parch of his throat damper. It's rare not because he is picky but because the man is entirely ignorant at most times, faces coming to him as a blur, voices a drone or a mumble, beautiful or terrifying or even average. The board does not stretch for him. In this moment, he is not preying his attraction on her size or the chilling depths of her gaze or the sweep of her blonde hair.

From the moment of her onslaught, he has considered only one thing: blood flows best the deeper your teeth sink, and for Gauthier, that is the "only thing men think about". So it is to an extent of frustration that he does not carve out the fatty tissue of her neck and tap into the fresh reserve, but merely scrap with scruff and catch a good skull-bludgeon for his efforts.

The knock of her comes as a good jarring thunk against his thick jawbone and he dislodges the roll of tuft promptly, ducking his head with the reverberating aftershock. As he does so, he spies the nice meaty thickness of her thigh muscles - and without much impression for the maintenance of such athleticism as it is for the anticipation of flavor, he makes a dive with the intended attempt of snatching her left hind leg with a good chomp and dragging it out from under her.

Fed by the adrenaline and fire she ignored any and all injuries and wounds, pain null until it was over. She knew how it would be after but she had a place to recover in. Blood already coming from her nape but that was fine with her, no one fight should end up like a walk by the park, it had to come out with pain if she was to consider a match worth to save in her memory, and this one was certainly winning the spot in there. As her upper neck collides with the man's face, she aimed to move her jaws to try biting the left side of his face or neck, wherever she could to have a nice nom of him too. Himself doing so on her thigh. She attempted to dialog her frontal paws back to the soil, hopping to avoid falling from his bite on her leg. She would turn her upper body, then rise her left front paw and attempt to swipe it vertically through the right side of his face, hopping to leave nice marks on his handsome face. Men looked badass with scars, more attractive to her than those without a mark. Adrenaline and pain go hand in hand for Gauthier. To an extent, the high is masochistic - the drum of the blood, the sting, the fire in his veins and the steel of his muscle. It is what bares his teeth, curls his claws, what draws the heat to his flesh and hunger writhing in his belly like a pit of vipers; he feels the blood drawn across his dark flesh, his pulse thrummed in is shoulder. His temper is baited by it, but he has never cared for softness.

Regardless, she is not an enemy. Not yet.

It is only this pain and appetite that moves him now - as he dives for her leg he feels the graze of her teeth cut across his jawline and swipe at the thickness of his mane. His cheek is blistered by the cut; blood bubbles to the surface, drips across the wash of his old scar, clots in the hairs. It elevates the smoothness of his lunge - it's almost personal, and he is made irritable only by the realization that he does not topple her fortitude. The prize, however, is made ripe with blood.

He does not let go even as she twists and brings a full fist of claws down on his face -he merely angles his skull down and shuts his eye tight, feeling the sharpness of her talons clash against his skull and ride down across his cheek. A few more cuts on his face mean nothing to him but a great stinging trouble for a length of time. And Elswyth's insight that a facial scar made one ugly was an even greater discovery (much ignorant of Alma's tastes in the matter) for one as misanthropic as he. He rides the pain, rides his teeth, makes to crunch down on the ligament and meat, the blood lathered on the roll of his tongue.

And in one final move, he lurches to pull her leg under her, with the intention of toppling or flipping her, at the risk of being untimely or unfortunate enough to lose his grip and have her full weight on top of him. It comes as only a distant thought to him however - drunk enough on her blood that he shirks the responsibility of cautionary warfare.

Oh boy how much fun she had gotten herself into with this man. She let him go, having her thirst for adrenaline and blood satisfied for now. And this man did well. He fought well and that added to his handsome shape, had made her quite liking him. She let her tongue crawl through her muzzle an lips. Tasting the crimson she managed to get from him. Her own also offered to him, eye for an eye, blood drop for blood drop. A drop worth giving to such a ferocious male. "You impress me," She said with a soft smirk. "I like you. You have a fire i dont see in men anymore. I hope to see you again." If not it was okay. He did his job pretty good, the job of entertaining her today. The munch he left in her tigh was welcomed. like a beaten hound, Thorn had always laughed.

Gauthier had always been a disappointment, after all - violent, strong, but too reckless, too hungry, too needy, too eager. At the height of success was the deepest falls, and the pit had never come to him with a willing welcome. Regardless, he knew it well. By now, he could call it by name.

The unfortunate son always learns not to be the sore loser.

The musty soils and the clay dust is cold and unyielding beneath his shoulder and crusts the places along his jaw where the blood has curdled, dark and matting. He accepts his mistakes with a grunting grace - a breath, a sigh, and he is grateful that the cloying darkness clouding his right eye is only the red of blood when he blinks it, and a second blink and a third promises that he hasn't gone blind. When the pressure of her teeth release, he brings himself to his feet and shakes the adrenaline from his body.

The come-down from the high is never pleasant, but he bears it all the same. His cheek stings, his neck sore, his arms tired, and the cut along his ribcage begins to pulse with the rush of his heart; another shake and he's numb, caked in dust.

You impress me, she says just as he turns away, and he looks back to her with tentative curiosity. I like you... she drawls, the blood-drunk lather of her tongue rolling over nuances of flirtation that are almost lost on him only for the sake of a droning in his ears. A pounding in his veins, he sweats and ponders the motive, but she hopes to see him again, and it nearly makes him laugh.

No one. the wind answers, his past, his distrust. But hasn't it been long enough beneath the mask? Long enough in this world of wilds, where his uncertain end has promised another means? Nessuno, answers the shadow of him. "Gauthier." answers the meat of him, too tired for lies, for ghosts.

"Perhaps you will." he replies to her earlier hope. "Perhaps it will be different, then." with a dark glint of a snake's roguery, his words curl sharply between his teeth, made smooth only by a sigh.
