It wasn't him who found the tracks. In fact, he seemed to be going in the wrong direction. He idly circled back toward the group as the others seemed to find something worth going for. Ah yes, that thing they found... totally a thing he had been tracking too! The king purposely lapsed behind, taking note of who did what and what mannerisms and injuries were displayed. It was much more efficient to take stock of his... stock... while they were all working to hunt, and mostly ignoring him, rather than having to track down members one by one and have to sift through what they tried to hide.

He veered in once their prey was in sight. Two warthog captured! A larger warthog could be the size of a small lioness. Still, he would never descend to that comparison. Most females kept themselves well groomed and he had never seen any so snaggle-toothed. Vermier feasted from the larger one which was, of course, his to feast from as he chose. Cassine was not here. This didn't trouble him. They were only hunting hogs and the Dieudonné heiress likely had weightier matters to attend which would bore him to tears. Eventually he assisted in taking the prey back to their caches, skipping ahead of others despite the weight he bore because he would never resist showing off.

The hunting party was small, but large for their size. Which was okay as it meant she could be of use to the pride something that she was glad for. Being useful to others, but Rose couldn’t help feel out of place in the pride. The seemed like family but not her family. She was looking for a strong lion to start a family with. To have cubs that are strong and caring at the same time. The lions in the pride seemed odd. Respectful to females yes, but almost overwhelming so. Also the leader came off as more of a boy than a king. Oh well. As they searched soon someone found some nice prey and the hunt was over in no time at all. Under the lead of the female @Amara the hunt was good and when finished she nodded to everyone and wandered off.

Oleander gave a nod to Hazarin when the other joined him. He saw it as younger Dieu sticking to younger Dieu. So when they started to move out he nodded for Hazarin to come along with him. Ole figured that they could work together as the Dieu were meant to do.

Oleander played the role of the very good, very obedient boy. He searched for tracks and came across prey. He does what he has to in order to take down said prey. Two warthogs ended up being the capture of the day. Ole stood back to watch as his patron took his share of the larger warthog. He didn't bother trying to slip in and get a portion for himself. He knew what it was to stop and wait until the higher ups were done.

And it was only after the others had eaten did he move to take a piece of scrap and wander off with it.

The rather large showing of Scillan lions was plenty to bring down their quarry and the dark yearling found she had for once felt like she belonged here, in some aspect anyway. She was still torn about where all of her loyalties lie, but until she figured it out completely Andy supposed helping fill the food caches was a good way to make herself useful. Better yet, it didn't actually require her to socialize properly. She just needed to be here and help. She definitely hadn't been invaluable here today, but one day she aspired to be the huntress her mother was. Andy would settle for whatever was left before disappearing back into the territory. exit andromache

Amara looked around as others showed up and felt good about the numbers. She was glad to see those who were here ready to bring down some prey. Her gaze lingered a little longer on Kieran before she went back to work. She followed the scent that was clearly warthog until she spotted them. Silently she flicked her tail and gave her orders before charging into her hunt. These would fill some bellies for sure and that was what she wanted. She wanted no reason for anyone to go around and say that they were left untended to. Once both were dead she stepped aside to allow everyone the chance to eat. She would find something for her elsewhere. She watched them for a while, giving them each a nod before turning to take her leave.

Helping to bring down the warthog also helped Nonoyo feel a little closer to her pride mates. She still spoke with none of them, however, and they quickly dispersed after the hunt. She did her best to grab a chunk of their prey to bring to the cache herself, tail curling near her ankles and eyes downcast as she made her way to the nearest one and tucked it inside. After that, there was nothing left to do but return to her den. Maybe she would be able to compose a song out of their deeds today; a few of the others had definitely been impressive enough to be worthy of song, even if she hadn't.

Victory was held within the hands of the lions as they downed the beast flawlessly. Claws having dug in and teeth sunk deep, there was little that any prey within the Lagoon could attest to and live. They were a ravenous sort and with it came a good meal no matter how small. Maude worked alongside her fellow pride mates to gather and store before eventually making her way elsewhere. She had never been much for conversation so was happy to leave that to someone else. After all these years she was a warrior and her days of making friends had passed her in the last half of her life. Maude lived for herself mostly now and she doubted that would change. exit maude.

After he arrives, the boy spots the prey in which they are going to hunt. Two warthogs, that had stupidly stumbled into the Lagoon without realising the fate they now faced. They work together well as a team and bring down the prey that they had intended on hunting. Within minutes the two warthogs have had their lives taken from them and flesh eaten by lions - including Hazarin - and for once there is a small sense of satisfaction warming through his stomach. With a lick of his lips, and a dip of his head to the other lions that had gathered, the boy took his share and departed the Lagoon for a well earned nap.
