Amara looked between the two cubs, they were growing quickly and even though they had been with her for a while now she knew that there was still a big part of both of them that must miss their parents. She couldn't stand Manes, barely even managed to act like it when Ambro was around. What if he was around? What if he had been looking for the cubs or even worse, what if he hadn't been. How would she handle that disappointment in them? She looked at Cass as she spoke and nodded. In small ways she had been trying to make sure that she was giving Cass the ability to grow and learn how to lead. It was something she would need but she also didn't want to throw away Haz's feelings on it. He needed to live with it all too. We will go tomorrow and if things don't work out and are worse there, we can come back and make a life here. She hoped it would be enough to get them both agreeing to it and maybe, she wouldn't need to stay there long.

It turned out that his paws really weren't that interesting when he'd been looking at them for more than a few seconds. @Cassine's words were harsh, but it was the truth. The truth that Hazarin did not want to hear - purple eyes snap away from his disinteresting paws to the face of his russet sister. "No shit, Sherlock." He snaps, snorting at her comment and then rising to his paws to move away from his really annoying sister. She was only annoying because she spoke the truth.

More words pooled from her tongue, and Hazarin was growing increasingly annoyed. He was irritable, cold, hungry, and tired. Tired of the cold weather, tired of the constant moving around, tired of feeling lost without his parents. "I didn't mean stay here, in this exact spot, espèce d'imbécile*." Since when did he have to state the obvious? Hazarin didn't want to go back to the rocky red gorge they called home when they were cubs playing happy families - he wanted to stay here, in this peninsula. Did he have to explain it like he would to a child for his sister?

Amara finally spoke after a brief moment of silence, and his eyes moved away from the fiery gaze of his sister back to the lioness that had slowly become a mother figure to him. He hadn't realized it, not really, but she was doing her best in a field she had little expertise in to guide them and help them grow up to be Dieudonné's. Surely they should be thankful for that.

the tension was unavoidable, but cassine knew what she wanted to do -- and if she had to take @Amara and @Hazarin with her, kicking and screaming the entire way, she would without reservation. cerulean eyes snapped quickly to her brother, however, toes curling at the harsh words that he threw in her direction, albeit the fact that she was deserving of them. it caused the fur to bristle along the length of her spine, tail giving an irritable twitch behind her figure -- but it is only made worse by his final string of words, forcing the glowering of his sister's eyes, and the sharp downturn of her lips. they had been through enough -- she might be a pain, but she had no desire to turn her back on her own flesh and blood. their parents had already done a good enough job at that, which only proved, once again, how badly they would need to rely on one another moving forward. "watch your tongue." she threatened, swallowing her pride, for hazarin's sake. if it had been anyone else, she would gladly ripe if from his mouth -- but she knew he was speaking out of emotion. they all were.

cassine did not, however, have any further interest in their conversation. it was draining in the worst way imaginable, and she could not muster up the energy to engage in further discourse with her kin. she was by no means happy about it, but the dieudonne would rise to her feet nonetheless, pushing out towards the opposite end of the hot springs with a fleeting glance over her shoulder. "i'll see you tomorrow." she declared, trying to be responsible and not take her anger out on them -- at least, not today. exit.

Amara shook her head at the pair. They were so alike in many ways but in others, they were so far apart. It would be interesting to see how they handled going back into the mess of a world that was south of them. Amara knew that there would be a number of challenges for all of them. Cassine would need to learn not only how to live in that world but also lead a family and maybe someday a pride. Haz would need to learn to live and find a way to support his sister without any lingering feelings about it. Amara had been with them long enough to know that they would both struggle with that. Cassine decided that things were over with and walked off, golden gaze watched her for a moment before looking back to the male yearling to see if he would be leaving also before laying her head down to enjoy a nap before they set off.

They were siblings, they were bound to fight. It was what they did - and if they didn't... well, what did that make them? Agitation and tension grew hot in the otherwise cold air, each word that left their mouths seen in a second of hot air. His eyes watch his sister depart, and as his muscles ripple under his saggy skin he had yet to grow fully into, a sigh departed from his lips. Would he ever be understood? Would he ever be able to understand? The questions lingered in his mind for a brief moment before he looked to Amara. Would she understand? The boy opened his mouth to say something, but after a second closed it again with a shake of his head. See you tomorrow. He remarks and departs to the make shift den he'd made, hoping that tomorrow would be a new day for the three of them.
