He was startled when @Remnant started screaming. His fur bristled and he stumbled over to her, but there was nothing wrong with her. She was just…saying it hurt. What hurt? He was beginning to think she was crazy until his mother came over and explained. It wasn’t supposed to be eaten. "I’s poison?" He asked, worry coating his tones as he looked at Remnant. That was unfortunate. Rem was his favorite. Despite his own body not being in pain, he made a face as he pressed his tongue to the top of his mouth as his mother instructed. Clearly, this was the antidote.

Then @Reti ♔ was showing up and he grinned. "We found cold bad stuff!" He chirped, as if it were something to be proud of. @Ismene was quick to follow up, they found not-water. He huffed. "Is to! Is bad water." He argued, brows furrowing before turning to @Aphrodite to be proven right. Clearly, this was just bad water that would kill Remmy.

@Ismene swiftly noticed him and responded with enthusiasm that warmed his heart. Watching cubs enjoy playtime never got old. He wanted them to enjoy these days as long as possible.

'Pa! Left the den! Found not-water,'

"I see that! It's called 'snow'. What do you think about the Snow Ismene?" did she like it? Hate it? was she curious about how it worked?

'We found cold bad stuff!' this came from little @Azriel "Snow is just really, really cold so be careful. But it can be fun to play with too! Just...don't eat it." he chuckled. Because well, that was unpleasant on the teeth and could lower the body temperature too much!

Reti flashed an impish smile and climbed atop small hillock covered in snow before hunching down a bit, taking a few swift steps and sliding down the slope on his belly - a grin on his face, tail whipping behind him. Snow really could be fun! As long as one made sure not to get TOO cold.

@Aphrodite responded quickly to Rem's cry of pain, as Rem knew her mother would even though she hadn't known how close her mother was. Aphrodite scolded Rem gently, causing her to pout, before instructing her to press her tongue to the roof of her mouth. Rem did as instructed, pressing the top of her mouth with as much force as her tongue could wield. As Rem was waiting for the cure to work, @Reti ♔ approached their little family gathering. "Ah-ah!" She greeted him, trying to say 'Papa' but finding that difficult to achieve without moving her tongue. Her siblings also greeted their father and began to explain their misadventure, arguing over whether the cold, white stuff was water or not. She was a little concerned when @Azriel asked if the white stuff was poison, they'd both eaten it! She looked worriedly to their mother. "Ou a uh om oion?" She asked, (you'll save us from poison?), once again finding it difficult to speak with her tongue held in place. Reti clarified that the white stuff was called snow and that it was fine, as long as you didn't eat it. Rem felt panic well up inside of her. That's what you say about poison!! She didn't notice her father clambering into the snow, much too concerned about whether she was going to die. Her headache, however, was indeed receding from the pressure and warmth from her tongue. @Ismene

'Ah-ah!'

Ahhhhhhh, that would be 'papa' the flame swirled chimera would guess. Giving @Remnant a gently amused smile. Brain-freeze was no fun! But it wasn't one of the 'hard' lesson and little cubs had to learn a lot of lessons while growing up - it was an important part of the aging experience!

As their father Reti just hoped that all important lessons that taught caution and exploration to his offspring would be the more gentle sort - so that the harder ones handed out by life would not land in youth!

After noticing the panic on his daughter's face after mentioning it was fine if you did not eat the snow - he was swift to clarify. "It wont poison you Remnant. If you ate ALOT you would get too cold. Eating a mouthful or two wont hurt you sweetie, it just doesn't feel nice."

The only way it was 'bad' was if a lion ate so much their body temperature lowered risking hypothermia. She was a bit young for that full explanation so simply telling the cubs not to eat more than a couple mouthfuls would do until they were a little older!
