Khadija had been adjusting to the Cove, the very place she was born many seasons ago. And now that her wounds and spirit were higher than ever she felt like wnating to start her new life here by earning a rank. Even though she could go for a high rank, she wasnt interested in anything beside healing. She wanted to be a medic, and the rank of Lead medic would be a good place for her to do what she wanted. To put her healing skills into a good use, and for the use of her new pridemates. Remembering Kvare's words. Those of giving her the right to challenge for ranks just like anyone else. Sunder was always happy to see the influx of new faces in the Cove but this one in particular was a member that her husband had stolen. She was immediately intrigued and when she heard @Khadija's call she was happy to answer it. Sunder enjoyed when others showed an interest in pulling their own weight, especially when it came to challenging for a rank. She lets out a soft chuff to the lioness to alert her of her presence before pausing before her. "Sunder Tollaire, Queen. I don't believe we've met. Your name please, and the rank you seek?" She says softly, folded ears preened forward with interest. Her claws unsheathed, preparing for what was to come. No one else had shown and Sunder had been aching for a fight in a long time, of course she wouldn't harm the woman but it would be nice to have a tussle in the sand, it'd been far too long.

Khadija waited, hoping someone was going to answer her wish for a fight for the rank of lead medic. Even though the actual rank had nothing to do with combat, she still wanted to be tested in that area. She was a warrior medic, if one wanted to give it a name. Luckily, someone else came—a woman she was seeing for the first time today. So far, she only knew Kvare and his daughter, Neeha. So this one would be her third known pride mate. She was glad to have the chance to both fight for a rank and learn more of her new home. "Khadija Al-Najma. And I am fighting for the rank of Lead medic." She said with determination in her voice. The call of the blue woman rang out and Neeha's ears twitched in an almost quiet excitement. Even if Neeha had not been keen on the idea of @Khadija being her guard she did find the woman and her circumstances interesting. Not to mention this call for a rank meant she had to be staying! Right?

The princess rose from her napping spot atop some rocks. Wasn't quite the right temperature for sunbathing yet. But the ocean wind still felt nice, even if cold, against her fur.

Stepping onto the sand Neeha headed off finding she was not the first to arrive at Khadija's summons. Her mother had arrived before her.

Neeha chuffed warmly at @Sunder her nubby tail twitching in excitement as her eyes fell on Khadija. The princess had heard the last part of the woman's introduction to the queen so she knew Khadija was seeking the role of lead medic. "Why fight for the rank of medic?" Neeha asked curiously her words mostly meant for her mother. It didn't seem all that sensible, medics healed so why fight for it? Or had she missed something in her lesson (she probably skipped) on pride ranks 1o1?

Pyrrha is not normally one to poke around in other's business. Unlike her mother and some of her siblings to be sure. She is content with a degree of unknown, enough to keep her safe. It seemed like the dive into politics, into the world of others, was a deadly one. She did not mind tailoring and keeping her world small. But sometimes she was near to going ons, near enough it's hard to ignore.

Small strawberry babe, ears bopping against her head as she trotted up to her mother and sister. Because if someone wants to fight you, they won't care if you're a medic. And it would do Caladan no good if their prime medic was down and out because someone beat them up and they didn't stand a chance against them. If it were up to Pyrrha, she'd want a medic who might not be the best fighter but definitely one who did not run from danger.

Another call for a challenge within the pride, one that sparked curiosity within the Tollaire yearling. Keelia would saunter her way across the familiar sands of the beach, making her way towards the commotion. @Khadija was a woman she had already seen previously in pride hunts, and she was happy to see her mother present. Flopped ears preened forward as @Neeha asked what the point was considering they would be fighting for lead medic. @Pyrrha arrived almost simultaneously as she and offered a very logical explanation to which Keelia would nod in agreement. "Exactly. It doesn't matter what kind of rank you have, anyone could attack you. They don't even need a reason." She offered before planting her rump in the sand, purple gaze alit with excitement at watching her mother have a spar with the woman. Anything that she might be able to learn from this she would eagerly take in.

Though she'd occupied herself with other things and had been out of the territory for something important to her, she didn't miss the call when she stepped across the border. It did intrigue her, an unfamiliar voice for the moment, but she wasn't in a hurry to get there.

By the time she came upon the spot where the challenger had called out, a few had already gathered. Steeled emerald gaze lingered on the dark furred lioness who seemed to be challenging for lead medic, taking her in, studying her. The pale furred warrior queen chuffed a greeting to @Sunder before she stepped towards @Neeha and her siblings. @Keelia and @Pyrrha were both greeted with a gentle nudge of her nose, as was Neeha, before she settled with them. "That would be correct. Pay attention to how they strike and defend themselves." Calm words aimed to impart an important lesson about the different ways everyone used to fight. "Everyone moves and fights in a different way. It's important to know not only how to observe your enemy and how they fight, but also to know the ways of your own pridemates. That way, if you find yourself in a way, you and your pridemates fight as one instead of getting into each others way."

"Khadija Al-Najma. And I am fighting for the rank of Lead medic." Sunder would dip her head in appreciation, "Thank you for sharing your name. Let's get started then." She says to her with a grin. She had registered that her daughter's had arrived to watch along with @Lagertha, but for now her main focus would be on Khadija. Sunder would waste no time in closing the distance between the two of them; once she was close enough to the other female she would reach outward with her right forepaw, attempting to swat at the woman's left shoulder to hopefully grab a grip there. Ears were flattened and her eyes narrowed to protect them from any potential harm all the while.

While she settled into a fighting posture, her ears turned upon hearing an extra set of voices around her; it seemed she had captured an audience's attention. It was true that for a lead medic, a fight didn't seem fitting, but the world was a cruel place. And a medic should know how to fight. Knowing how many monsters were out there, no one could guarantee a medic wouldn't be targeted either. She gives those around her a quick glance before focusing on her fight. The fight she had been into had taught her many things, including to instead of going head-on into the fray, it was better to do her best to predict their moves and plan her own attacks in response. Sunder wasted no time in initiating her assault, starting by smacking her paw at Khadija's left shoulder. Instead of reacting right away, she allowed Sunder to get her attack hit where she wanted. Then Khadija attempted to run into Sunder aiming to ram her left shoulder into Sunder's chest, but aiming to not be too harsh. She just wants to give at most some knockback. "No" an annoyance seeped into her voice as the princess could feel annoyance from being misunderstood stir in her gut. Of course, fighting was important, Neeha knew this. Which was why it seemed foolish to test Khadija in this, she'd lost to Kvare already. Even if she'd gotten stronger since her claim she wasn't going for lead fighter, scout, or any other rank but medic. What good would her ability to fight do if one of them were bleeding out in the sand?

"And what good will her ability to fight do, when one of us is bleeding out in the sand from our throats being ripped open?" The bloody fight from the pit popped into her mind, those two giants tearing each other apart. "She isn't challenging for lead fighter but medic." Neeha huffed eyes returning to Khadija and Sunder as their fight started. What would this prove? How would it prove anything useful? "Kvare already beat her in a fight when he brought her here, so yeah she needs to prove she won't just be taken away." her voice was quieter at the confirmation that her sisters and aunt had a point, yet Neeha fully believed hers were more important. She'd seen death and she'd seen death beaten by lions. If Khadija couldn't do that what good would she be as their medic?

The princess's floppy ears twitched as @Lagertha started talking. Her words were met with silence but compliance as the princess watched the two fighting lionesses. "So we should practice fighting together more?" her gaze turned from the fight to Lagertha, @Keelia and @Pyrrha. Neeha could not remember having ever actually fought her sisters. Nor anyone else. She'd always been content to watch from the shadows.
