We don’t like having to make posts like these - but sometimes they are necessary, and now is one of those times. We would like to preemptively say that if you have any questions about the following information, to please reach out to an Admin. We would be happy to clear things up the best that we can, provide additional context, and show any relevant proof and receipts. We will also have a community discussion in the Discord server.
As most of you know, the current Admin team was among a very small group that initially pulled Amaryllis together from the ashes of a previous site, Valoria. We worked VERY hard to make sure that any and all of the content that we brought to the site came with explicit permission that it could be used or modified. Anything that we did not own/have permission for was completely redone and has been crafted through both Staff and member suggestions. Intellectual property is important and it’s something that we respected when creating this site and something that we expect others to respect as well. We believe a failure to do so shows a lack of integrity and is not something that we support.
We also believe that everyone should stand against plagiarism and the theft of intellectual property — the general rule of thumb is that content that is on a site should stay there unless permission is given to use it elsewhere.
Since Amaryllis has opened, a number of other lion RPG sites have been created within our community, which is something we love to see. The Admin team has worked with a number of current and former members to help them with their sites, which has included us: reviewing their content/mechanics at their request; providing insight on how to use plugins/coding/backend things; giving advice for skins and hosting; and so forth. The Admin team is always open to collaborating with members of our community to help their sites flourish and succeed — we have not and will never believe that Amaryllis is the end-all-be-all of lion roleplaying sites.
Having said that, we are NOT okay with our content being outright stolen from Amaryllis, which is what has unfortunately happened. We have had an outside third-party (non-roleplayer) review everything prior to this public claim to make sure that we were correct and justified in our feelings that our content has been plagiarized. We have also had a number of members, Staff, and non-Staff, see this material and conclude that it has been plagiarized and is a copy of our systems.
When we say stolen/copied, we want to be very clear — we have proof and have seen this site, Gaia’s, Guidebook pages for their trade system, amongst other snippets that indicate potentially other stolen material. The trade page included copied and pasted information directly from Amaryllis’ Guidebook. We understand that we do not own any overarching ideas and are aware that a lot of sites are similar, but to see our content copy-and-pasted so blatantly is not okay, and made it very clear to us, and others, that things had been pulled from Amaryllis.
In Gaia’s Guidebook pages, our content had simply been taken and had very minor adjustments made to it.
- In their original draft, which we have access to, our trade names are present in brackets next to this site’s “new” trade name, indicating which trade is meant to mirror which from our site.
- Identical levels and thresholds for earning dice buffs (i.e. earning +1 dice at levels 1 and 4 for all trades).
- Master and Sub-Master perks that mirror (or are the same) as ours.
- Identical or near identical perks, where one word has been changed/synonyms used/the perk has only been reworded slightly so as to not be exactly the same as ours. These similarities were found across all of the trades to some extent.
- A few examples, for those that would like to see:

Another thing of concern is that the anonymous account of allinone has recently been reaching back out to members of our community and plugging this new rpg site, Gaia. It has also come to our attention that Tater (who is the owner and creator of Gaia) has been feeding allinone extremely personal details about current member(s), which has, in turn, been used to cause more hurt, bullying, and harassment. We also have proof of this. We continue to publicly denounce allinone and do not have respect for anyone who entertains or gives them ammo to use against others, given all of the harm that they have done to this community and their blatant, ugly bullying.
It would be a lie to say that we are not concerned at the compounded optics of our content being stolen for Gaia, this site being subsequently promoted and shared by a known bully account, and then learning that Tater is bolstering their bullying antics by stooping to their level and targeting other members. We strongly recommend blocking allinone’s account and not engaging in any capacity if they reach out to you. People like this feed off of attention, disruption, and getting reactions out of others.
At the end of the day, all of our members are free to make their own choices and decisions about where they roleplay, and that is fine — but we felt that it would be wrong of us not to bring these connections to everyone’s awareness. You all deserve to know the reality and depth of what is happening.
Having said all of that, we have placed a permanent ban against Tater who has plagiarized of our site content and has fed allinone personal details about current members in order to facilitate more bullying. We did not originally plan to make bans public, but given the nature of what has happened, we are making an exception and want the community to be aware so that everyone is able to make their own informed choices.
We are also not okay with being labeled as the bullies in this situation when said content has been ripped away from the site. The Staff team has given up a lot to make this site happen and to have it where it is today — we do everything here to offer the community a place to write, and we work hard to remain as unbiased as possible. We do not believe in a single person having the final say on anything, and everything is looked at by the team as a collective. If you are unhappy with an area of the site, reach out to us. Talk to us and chances are we'll be able to help in some way.
We hope that we will never need to make another post like this ever again. We are sorry that this has come up and we hope everyone understands why we are sharing it.
Thank you to all of our members who are here for the right reasons and enjoy roleplaying with the other members of the community.
Thank you all for your time reading this,
— The Staff Team
