Renfri had heard of the challenge at the Rainforest, but had been unable to attend. The only reason she had risked going to the challenge in the Plains had been to ensure her daughters safety, but with her pregnancy and her still healing wounds from when her leg had been ripped off, it hadn’t been worth the risk. Firnin had been a solid ally, but she had no personal relationship with its leadership, but now that she was Queen in the Brook, she figured it was time to change that. She was curious, too, about Etain and how the strange yearling was doing. She’d told her she had no family when she was captured in the Plains, but it seemed her mother had challenged @Ryker. That relationship mattered little to her in the grand scheme of things, but she was curious if the girl had lied about her knowledge of pridelife. She stopped a few feet from the border before letting out a chuff to announce herself before taking a seat in the shade of a large tree. The trek wasn’t too much farther than the Plains, but she was still adjusting to life on three limbs, and with her being due to give birth to her second litter any day, she found herself tiring more easily. It was an awful lot of extra weight to carry around for the tiny lioness. |
She heard the calls, and rose from her den to make her way towards the borders. The red giant moved slowly - a finesse of step she was gaining by the day within the territory. Silent - despite her size, she would pass through the pathways of the Rainforest, disturbing brush as she went, but the woman was sure with time even that would lessen.
Kireena paused just beyond view of @Renfri, her bi-colored gaze searching from the shadowed cover to try to see if she recognized the tri-pod that had come calling. Finding she didn't, the woman stepped closer, emerging from the trees to stand a few lengths in front of the Brook Sovereign. "Ryker or Levana will be along shortly.." But until then, Renfri would not only deal with the giant red woman, but she wouldn't be getting any closer.
Still - the sight of the heavily pregnant female had her curious. Three legs - and with such an obvious weakness.. why was she traveling? An inhale of scent with her normal pattern of breaths told her that the other was from Vermeda - what could that mean for the Rainforest?
There was a heavily pregnant lioness at his borders, with a noticeable piece missing. Interesting. Ryker would arrive very shortly behind @Kireena ♞, with an expression of mild curiosity, which gained a tinge of amusement upon finding the red woman had beaten him to the visitor. Ryker, that's me. He didn't fully recognize the blue girl, but she carried the scent of the brook and a sense of vaguely familiarity in the 'probably saw you in a crowd' way.
He hadn't attended the challenge for the brook, only the raid on the territory, and so would choose to treat this meeting with caution at first. She hadn't yet made any aggressive moves, but Ryker didn't really have a problem fighting an expectant mother - especially if she started it, and they weren't his cubs at risk. You're a long way from home.
@Renfri
She would move to take up Rykers side, fur brushing his as she waited answers, hoping there was no more bad news on the Horizon. Her green eyes flicked over to glance at her husband, though she were notably more races than the red woman or her mate.
She was not waiting for long before she was greeted by a large woman that she vaguely remembered seeing at the challenge for the Oasis, though she couldn’t remember on which side she had stood then. She gave a nod at the confirmation that Ryker and Levana would be there soon, but said nothing until the ruling pair arrived. @Ryker seemed to not recognize her, and though they’d never had much interaction, she’d been with his wife when they had failed to defend her during the challenge for the Hallows, and when @Levana was attacked by her uncle at the Oasis, Renfri had only been a few steps behind Aeistios. She hadn’t fought then, but she’d been prepared to if it came down to it, and had hoped for at least a slightly more friendly greeting. "Perhaps. I figured I would be safe enough in the company of old allies, though." Thankfully the Queen (or former Queen, though this was not known to her), did remember her and was quick to give her a more appropriate response. “Nothings wrong, no, but with the fall of the Plains, and my taking up residence as Sovereign in the Brook, I had hoped to come and discuss what that might mean for relations between us going forward.” She had been sent to the Brook to help Lachesis build his pride as an ally to the Saxe, and now that Aeistios no longer held power, she was even more determined to strengthen Vermeda.@Kireena ♞ |
The arrival of @Ryker followed quickly by @Levana had the red woman shifting slightly. She took a step to the side, and backwards to give the pair of monarchs a chance to speak to @Renfri. The giant knew she had no dog in this fight - though hearing that the tripod was once of Lorien piqued her interest completely. She was as of yet, unaware that Renfri was also curious about her - or rather.. Etain.
Silence as the woman let the ruling felines speak, but watched with interest. What did they know about the once lions of the plains - what could she learn here? Kireena wasn't aware that the woman before her had once been a ruling monarch of the plains herself - instead assuming she was one of those that had left when it had fallen.
She heard the call of an unfamiliar voice, and as she often did, Iskra immediately set off to go investigate. She was sure her parents had it handled, whatever it was, but she wanted to watch, to see what adults talked about when they didn’t think any kids were around. Plus, she was a princess, and when she was older she expected to be involved in these sorts of things. It would look much better on her if she already had an idea of how to conduct herself, as well as putting her stealth skills to use. She moved towards the border, creeping through the shadows with her body low to the ground. Iskra’s focus was on keeping her steps as silent as possible, using large bushes and other plants for cover whenever possible. Living in the rainforest was ideal for practicing stealth, with her already green pelt making it much easier to blend in with her surroundings. When the group came into view, she found a spot to hide just within ear shot, and began to listen in on the conversation taking place.Iskra is attempting to hide! |
Hm, I missed the changeover in the brook. Good to hear it's not one I'll have to worry about anymore. Not that he'd lost much sleep over the place anyway. It had been placed in a fuzzy 'maybe enemies' category simply because the bulk of his allies had had some sort of problem with the place. He still didn't have the specifics on what that was all about.
Reclining to sit, he'd shrug one shoulder, Alliance-wise, my terms tend to be pretty simple. Whenever there's war or something, we help each other, and we don't interfere with each other's claims - if that's a thing you do. Ryker permitted it, but it rarely seemed to happen. And we help each other out if one needs resources or shelter or whatever. That bit was slightly new, but he'd already proven willing to take in the Lorien refugees, and he'd once offered the resource-sharing to Scilla, so why not.
