The waves crashed into the land, sending waves that were far greater than average, they slammed into the sand and rocks, ocean spray misting everything until it shined under the bright moonlight. Thunder clapped in the distance, an alarm to sound before the storm, lightening lit up distant mountain ranges and trees, that, mixed with the crashing of the waves created a sound like many gods roaring.

But every so often the thunder would quiet, and a wave would slam into the rocks, leaving behind fish, debris, whatever the ocean had taken, so when another wave slammed onto the grounds that was the passageway, there was something new left on the lands of Ama. Not brand new, but returned, redistributed.

The dawn colored lioness lay unconscious against the stone, her body battered, bruised, bloodied, she looked like shed been through hell and back, almost unrecognizable The Devorre wife was returned, but barely within life's grasp

He did truly hate being out in the rain, but he found himself along the beach as the winds picked up and the waves began crashing into the beach at a more ferocious rate than usual. Distant thunder clapped and lightning struck in the horizon, touching down upon the sea, so far out. What may have been a leisurely walk was now Fable urgently searching for shelter.

A particularly large wave crashed on the shore near him, which sent him sidestepping the surge. However, what it left behind had him stopping in his tracks. A body, hitched up on the beach rocks. He could see the wounds dripping fresh blood, but the girl smelled like dead fish so bad he couldn't tell whether she was alive just by scent. Wary of the waves, he approached her, sniffing her face to figure out if there was any life in her. He was dumbfounded to find that she was breathing... a little.

Springing into action, Fable waited until the surf went out and then he tried pulling her from the rock and onto his back. Before they could safely make their way out, though, a huge wave crashed against them, drenching the both of them. Fable kept @Gabrielle's body steady by holding her both against the rock and holding her limp paw in his mouth as he too scrambled against the sand. He leapt from the spot when the waves finally drew back out, and he took her as far from the shore as he could.

The beach was a cursed place to be in a rain storm, but at least the waves wouldn't bother them there. He took her as far as he could - to almost the edge of the beach, where sand met loose dirt that would eventually turn to ground. Fable didn't know too much first aid, but he did what he thought was sensible and began pumping her chest in hopes to push any water from her lungs.

The lioness felt nothing as the male kept her steady against a rock and his body, she did not move when jostled by the wave, not did she wake when she was dragged to the edge of the beach and placed upon the loose soil.

She merely set in darkness, on the fine line between life and death, toeing the edge, by then she felt something finally, a break in the overwhelming sea of nothing. There was a pounding that caused the realm she floated in to vibrate, and it meet happened, in patterns, 1, 2, 3. 1, 2, 3.

With a gasping sputter the lioness coghs out large amounts of water, gasping for air, her body shakes with each short weeze, her eyes opening and looking at the hand with confusion. Where was she? Finally she looks up at the male about to do another compression and she places a weak paw on his chest, ""I...im okay.."" She coughs and pants, her lungs taking in every amount oxygen they can.

He was relieved when she began to splutter, coughing out a lungful of water onto the ground. He paused in his compressions, though she lifted a weak paw to his chest to assure him that she was "OK". Clearly, she wasn't, but at least she was breathing and conscious now. "No, you're not, love," he answered her, concern in his eyes. "Right yourself and breathe for a few moments. Don't talk."

She needed to catch her breath. He had no idea how long she had been within the waves grasp and how long she had not been breathing. She needed to catch up on that; to recycle air into her body once more. There'd be plenty of time for chitchat later.

The taste of salt and fish coated her mouth and she felt like she might throw up, a groan escaped her lips and she tried to lift herself but the burning sensation that clawed its way from her lungs and up her throat had her gasping for air again as she stumbled down.

The pink lioness gasped for air and finally began to catch her breath, finally she looked up at her savior, a soft breath escaopng her followed by another cough, ""what..where am I?"" She spoke softly, her voice quiet and angelic, she was a soft soul, even after what shed been through, though what had she been through?

She tried scouring her brain for anything, any memory, and she couldn't even come up with a name for herself, her ears flatten against her skull, a confused whine escaping her throat.

She mostly listened to his instruction, though when she took a few steady breaths, she tried to raise herself and ultimately failed in a fit of coughs and gasps. He put a clawless paw on her back to steady her, "Don't try to get up. Just relax, breathe."

She managed a question a few moment later, and Fable looked around, too. "You are on the beautiful and dark, sandy shores of Stygian Shore. Where did you come from, so that I may return you? You probably have family worried for you." he asked, tipping his head in curiosity. He wondered how the lioness got lost to the waves in the first place. A thought of his own brother seeped into his mind, too, and that moment, he realized he missed Fissure a lot more than he had admitted before.

Thunder rumbled above them, and a surge lightning lit up the sky before them. The storm was creeping in, though, thankfully, it hadn't started raining quite yet. The winds still gusted as they did before, drying both their coats while Fable tried to help the lioness get her bearings.

"Oh, how rude of me! I'm Fable Crow. What's your name?" he asked after a rumble of thunder.

She feels his paw on her back, aiding in steadying her and she nods softly, the girl would curl up, shivering a little, though it was a hot day, the cold water and the shock of it all did nothing to aid her.

He tells her where she is and she racks her brain to see if it sounded familiar, then he asks her where she cf and from and she tilts her head a bit, ""I don't remember.. I can't remember.."" She would answer quietly, eyes dowcast, ashamed she couldn't remember her life, where she come from, her family.

She jumps at the sudden strike of lightening, finally the water from her coat was slowly drynfnuo but still she shook fr on m the shock, and the adrenaline wearing off. I

He introduces himself and asks here what her name is, ""It's nice to meet you, Fable.."" She pauses before giving an embarrassed chuckle, ""I'm sorry, I must have hit my head. I cannot remember my name, sir.""

There’s a sudden strike of lightning above them, closer than it had been before. The storm was approaching and soon, the two of them would be dripping wet once more. He supposed they should move on from here soon.

“Why don’t you stay with me for a while? I can take you under my wing and care for you. Perhaps you’ll even start to get your memories back,” he offered gently, though he wasn’t about to allow her to wander the lands in the condition she was in. And she couldn’t remember her name, which was inconvenient. However, he would have to give her one for a short time. “How about Cordelia? For your name. Temporary, of course, until you remember your old one.” He didn’t mention the reason he chose that name specifically, but it was because it meant daughter of the sea, and she was, in fact, born of the sea.

He wondered if any healer could fix memory loss, though he intended to take her to one because she certainly needed medical attention. He wouldn’t want her to deteriorate any further. “Do you think you can walk now? I’d hate to get caught in this storm...”

The bolt of lightening has her fur rising, the electricity in the air causing her skin to gather goosebumps, she jumps from the crackle in the air, landing somewhat unsteady on shaky paws.

She turns to look at him as he offers her aid, the lioness gives a small smile, ""Thank you for your kindness. Truly. "" She cocks her head a bit as he chooses a name to temporarily call her, and once he says it out loud, she rolls it around in her mind, and then gently tries it out, ""Cordelia.. "" her tail twitches and she nods softly, ""Is very pretty. Thank you. ""

The storm rolling in quicker and quicker had her rising her paws, she nodded at his question, ""I'll make it... I think I can.. "" She takes a couple wobbly steps, body swaying gently as she test her legs out, and finally she stands without wobbling like a newborn foal.

Fable shakes his head at Cordelia's gratefulness. "It's no problem at all, really." He didn't mind helping those who needed it... As a merchant, he had to give back his kindness sometimes. He'd happily do it by saving someone from the brink of death and nursing her back to health.

"Let's just get out of this rain, and then you can rest some more. I'll get you something to eat, and we can rest for the remainder of the day," he said, leaning against her to help her steady. Then he'd look back, to make sure she was following alright, and then lead the way on, seeking to get off the beach and into the Labyrinth (if they could make it) to find shelter from the oncoming weather. /exit
