Returning back to the Plains after his encounter with Aquila had been more of a challenge than he had thought.

Aeistrios limped - his right forelimb a mess of shredded skin, torn tendon and damaged muscle. Putting any weight on it caused a fierce agony; and so he was reduced to bouncing on three limbs. It took him hours, maybe even longer, and darkness was starting to take a hold of the lands around them. A rasping breath, the scent of his home coming to his features - and Aeistrios had little to no energy left in him.

He didn't even have enough will power to call for help.

Instead he tumbled into a laying position at the edge of his borders, taking in shallow breaths as his maimed limb twitched helplessly before him, throbbing in an intense pain that engulfed all of his form.

Reah stalked along the borders, the sun setting and painting the sky a wide array of colors. The horizon was lit with warm shades from the sun, but the rest of the sky turned dark purple. Her paw steps were nearly silent as she walked, and as she continued on she couldn’t help but notice a tinge of blood within the air. Her eyes narrowed and she continued on, catching the familiar scent of her husband now.

Worry washed over her form and her pace quickened, finally, she saw him. Her dark eyes widened and she could see his bloodied, mangled leg. She clenched her jaw as she approached, immediately shifting her shoulder and bringing her herb pouch forth. “Relax, I’m here now,” she spoke to him, trying to soothe the Lorien King.

“Who did this to you?” she asked him, knowing whoever had done it would pay. She would get revenge if Aeistrios didn’t plan to. Yet, the Saxe duo were both vengeful creatures in the end. Whoever had done this was indeed asking for a death sentence.

She came closer, inspecting and studying the damage that had been done.

He wasn't sure exactly how long he had laid there.

It became a routine, soon enough. Breathe in - breathe out - blink. He kept doing this until he felt the creeping sensation of sleep coming for him, a dark blanket of warmth ready to grab and engulf him.

Instead, it was @Reah who came for him.

Her voice soothes him, much like her presence does. His eyes are groggy as they open, all of his adrenaline worn off as he lays exhausted before his wife. Her question rasps a weak laugh from his lungs, however. "The same male who tried to take Renfri." He replied, details vague on the incident only because the headache that pounded through his brain was intense enough to keep him from wanting to talk.

At first, he let out a pained laugh, and Reah’s ears flicked slightly then. He finally answers, saying it was the same man that had tried to take Renfri. A soft annoyed growl leaves her throat then, irritation rising within her chest at the thought of some Brook bastard doing this to her husband. “It seems he truly is a pest, isn’t he,” she finally said, “An annoying bug,” she added. She looked down at him, an evil grin suddenly appearing on her lips. “All we have to do is squash him, once and for all,” she told him.

After some time looking at his injuries, she began to dig through her bag to grab the medicine that she needed. “He got your arm good, but it’s nothing that I can’t fix,” she informed her husband. “It’ll be like nothing ever happened,” she said. She brought out a few different medicinal herbs then. Cape aloe, frankincense, and chaff flower, each having different purposes for the work that she was about to do.

A pest.

That was a good way to describe the Brook as a whole, Aeistrios decides internally.

@Reah had an evil grin on her maw when the Saxe peered up to her. A grin that suggested the plots swirling through her head - a side of her Aeistrios wanted to see. He wanted to see what dark danger was inside of her, and what power she could unleash on those who cross her.

If he wasn't in so much pain, the thought would of excited him.

"It feels like it almost got ripped off." He comments about his forelimb, watching as she dug through her variety of medicine to see what she would need for him. "As much as I would like a reason to lay around - I do favor my leg more." And being stuck with three limbs sounded like a complete nightmare.

He speaks again, informing her that the pain was extreme and that it felt like it was nearly ripped off. He also commented about how even though he enjoyed laying around, he wanted to keep his leg. She nodded to him, nuzzling gently into his neck, trying to soothe him further and reassure him. “I’m sorry my love, I’ll try to be quick,” she told him. She grabbed the chaff flower and brought it into her mouth, chewing on it so it was like a poultice. Then she placed the poultice upon one of the aloe leaves. She grabbed the frankincense and extracted the sap from the poultice that she had created, creating a medicinal concoction.

Reah then moved closer and carefully moved his damaged limb so it was in a better position to work with. “This is going to hurt,” she finally told him. She would grab a stick from her bag and place it beside his head, “If you have to, bite on this while I apply the medicine,” she told him. She then would gently spread the poultice upon his injury, and quickly she grabbed the rest of the aloe leaves and wrapped up the wound. “That’s all I can do for now, but I’ll continue to check on you to see how the injury heals up,” she told him.

Her assuring words on being quick eased some of Aeistrios' worry, the pain still throbbing through him but at least he had the comfort of his mate beside him, tending to him.

She warned him that it was going to hurt, but Aeistrios underestimated the fact of what she said. At least, until the pain became severe upon his form, vision blacking for a moment as he snarls his discomfort, breathing hard. Once she was done he was quick to shift his limb closer to his body, groaning as she explains that would be all she could do right now. "Anything to cut the pain down?" He rasps out, wishing he could just numb all the pain out.

Reah couldn’t help but feel guilty when her husband snarled in pain. She was left wishing that she could take the pain away, but also there was something deeper within. A fit of dark anger ignited like a raging fire, wishing she could kill the man that had done this to him. She watched him closely and he asked if there was anything that would help ease the pain.

Her tail flicked for a moment and she grabbed more of the frankincense that she had. “Drink the sap from this,” she told him. “It will help with the inflammation, and it will make you sleepy,” she explained to him. “Can you get up?” she asked him. “If not, it's okay, I’ll lie with you here tonight if we have to. But getting to the dens would be best,” she told him. If he couldn’t move once more, she was fine with that. She would stay and keep him company, as well as watch over him if any other Brook lions decided to come back to cause more trouble.

As much as he'd rather sleep and let the pain fade in his dreams, he finds himself doing what his wife said. The sap didn't taste good - in fact the bitterness in it almost made it not worth drinking. However, when she explained it would also make him sleepy, he was about ready to ask for more.

Up, he was sure he could get up - but did he want to? That was the real issue here. "We can try." He grumbles out, because the warmth of the den seemed a lot nicer than the damp, spring ground he was laying upon. He began to shift his weight then, slowly working himself onto his good limbs with a bunch of curse words in between movements.

The dark queen watched her king closely. She didn’t like seeing him like this, in so much pain. But in the end, he was a lucky soul. She took pride in being able to take care of her King and their empire, especially in such a personal way. She was, in a way, the empire’s trusted doctor. She understood there were other healers within the pride and out there in the world, but she thought of herself as one of the best.

He cursed under his breath as he struggled to get up, and she moved over to his left side. “You can lean on me if you need to,” she told him. Offering him her body to put some weight on, if needed. “Let’s go, once we get to the den you can finally sleep,” she said. She looked over at him, her gaze soft with adoration. She placed a loving kiss upon his cheek, more reassurance and coaxing to push him forth.
