Set directly after Helah x Revna's exit from the VB challenge

Helah had ushered @Revna away from the Brook, towards the Bluffs- moving as fast as they were able. She swears she can almost feel the ire seeping from the other lioness, but Helah is a beast determined.

Protect what is yours

Revna was hers, hers alone and post the Mire male trying to claim her... she knew she had to do something to ensure Revna's protection. And isn't this what that was? Protection. As they neared the Bluffs, Helah let out loud chuffs for @Amara and @Louve ♔ as she crossed the border.

To Revna, she would speak. "You will stay in my cave. I will ensure you have food and water, and I'll take you for walks. This doesn't have to be a true prison for you. The Bluffs is home." She says, her tone flippant. "I will protect you." Protect her from the now unseen threats of the Mire male, of the others that would lay claim to her as if Helah would have nothing to say about it.

"I have a nice enough cave. You can have my sleeping pelt." She says simply- wasn't she a gracious host?

She knew not what Amara and Louve would say to her arrival with a prisoner but she knew she did not intend to back down from her right to keep her here. Teeth bared, she focused ahead, moving to walk slightly in front of Revna, her body tensing- waiting. Helah was tired from the fight, and hoped that if any other Bluff's lions were there, they would return with news on whether or not Cassandra retained control of the Brook.

OOC: Tagged for Amara & Louve, though Helah won't mind other members of the Bluffs being present.

the sea does not like to be restrained Her head cleared as they walked from the Brook to Wolfbron, and though the rules were clear Revna wanted nothing more than to sit her rump down and not move another inch. For all that she had liked @Helah ♔ before, she is angry with the woman now. "I will do no such thing," she retorts refusing to bow to whatever strange madness was going on inside the Bluffs lioness' head. "I will do as I please. I don't belong to you," she continues, stubborn and argumentative. Helah is quite confident for someone who hadn't made it past the biggest hurdle in her scheme just yet. "Amara will never allow me to stay," she says, almost smugly. The Sigrun and the Dieudonne did not get along, and though the two women had reached some kind of an understanding, the families they came from still made them enemies. But then, Helah may not know she is Sigrun. Had she ever shared that detail with this woman? Revna makes a show of stopping at the border, refusing to cross. She will not be called a trespasser today if she can help it. Even if Helah had technically stolen, she still smells strongly of the Brook and the others would not be aware of what transpired. @Amara @Louve ♔

The absolute and sheer stubbornness of @Revna should not have appealed to Helah so, should not have awoken the burning embers of desire for the woman deep within her. It also made her want to roar in frustration. "Are you going to fight with me every step of the way, rather than surrendering to this and just enjoy it?" She cooed softly, turning to face Revna with a small smirk on her face.

Amara will never allow me to stay.

"Enlighten me as to why not? Would you not be considered a valuable prisoner?" She asked, with a head tilt- noting that the female stopped at the border. Helah scoffed, fighting the desire to go grab her by the ear and drag her into the land, though the larger female would be very difficult to drag.

"Stubbornness looks good on you, Revna." Helah simpered, trying a new tactic. Flirting- because that had gotten her pretty far in life so far. "Almost as good as I would." Another, horrible flirt, but she smirked, turning to face her, walking right back to the border, aiming to come nose to nose with her- watching, and waiting.

Not ignoring Louve or Amara, just gonna let them bicker until they arrive.

the sea does not like to be restrained Revna has always enjoyed flirting with @Helah ♔, but this new development is simply too much. Helah tries to fall into their normal flirting patterns, but Revna merely glowers at her, letting herself fall into the cold steel she had often worn when she was a dutiful Sigrun wife. "You have dragged me away from my wife, my daughter, and my home," she scolds the woman. "What is there to enjoy?" Of course, she knows what Helah will say by now. Helah will suggested that Revna might enjoy her, but Revna is a sentimental creature who loves and feels. Walking away from her life is not an option. "You are her noble and you don't know about the enemies of the Dieudonne?" she questions, her tone almost smug, as if she is pleased she knows something that Helah does not. Amara and Revna had come to an understanding of sorts that one night, but that did not mean Amara wanted a Sigrun, even a former one, resting in her home. Revna refuses to flirt back. Instead, she makes a show of dropping her rear end to the dirt, making it clear she wasn't going to be moving any time soon. Even nose-to-nose with Helah, Revna refuses to cooperate. She will not walk across the border only to be considered a trespasser by Amara or one of her daughters. No, the Wolfbron leaders would need to shoe their faces so Helah could explain the situation to then.

Helah cannot help but roll her eyes. "I would say that dragged is an over-statement." The quip falls from her mouth as fast as she thinks it. "Maybe it was you, who wanted a break from them- because I feel like you rather let me win." She teases, her tone is light, her eyes bright as she considers this rather gleefully. "Also, I know you're expecting me to say that you can 'enjoy me', and you can, because I am rather delightful... but you should know I'm not unreasonable." She pauses. "We could go collect your daughter and wife, if you wished?" A head-tilt. "They'd be safer within the bluffs, surely."

This sentiment of wishing to protect Revna, to stand between her and all those that Helah believes will take her from her.... is strange, and she isn't quite sure why she cares so much. She watches @Revna rest on her haunches, and huffs softly. "Enemies is a powerful title, Revna.. Is that what you are?" She admits.. is that what she wished to be treated as. "Explain?" An offering then, to let Revna speak, and take over. What could Revna do or have done that Amara would have found her to be such an enemy?

the sea does not like to be restrained Revna shakes her head in frustration. Helah had beaten her in a theft challenge, regardless of how the fight played out. There were rules, whether she was willing or not. That, to her, constitutes being dragged against her will. She cannot give an answer to @Helah ♔ beyond that, but her brows crease jn frustration with the woman. "The Bluffs is not safe for any Sigrun," she retorts angrily. Though neither Eira nor Addie are really Sigrun, they are still connected to the family. Allies, distant relatives by association. Revna is the only real Sigrun among them, even if she has abandoned their beliefs. She still technically carries the name. She earned it. "I have been," she says, her voice guarded. Truthfully, she isn't certain what Amara still thinks. They are not close and had managed to avoid each other since their last, slightly more peaceful, run-in. Rather than answering Helah just yet, she raises a brow at the other woman. "Amara has not told you of the Sigrun? They are enemies of the Dieudonne, and I am one of them."

When Revna shakes her head, clearly frustrated there is a softness that Helah feels, a desire to reach out with a paw and touch her, to do... what she was not sure. She starts to reach out a paw, low to the ground to maybe touch the other female's paw- but halts, the limb hanging in the air for a second before she places it back on the ground. Confused, and uneasy by the notion.

There is a name she mentions... Sigrun. Helah's brow furrows in confusion, not quite grasping what... that should mean to her. When Revna tells her she is an enemy, Helah quite foolishly thinks that is just because she is a Vermeda lioness and before she can comment that technically, she is not -- at least not anymore, Revna says that the Sigrun are an enemy of the Dieudonne... and she is one of them.

"What makes them so special to be an enemy in name?" Perhaps a daft question- she cannot imagine what they could do or have done. "You never mentioned a surname." She points out, at least, Helah hadn't remembered it but she could have been bamboozled by the prettiness of the female before her as well. "And... if you're an enemy by name, wouldn't having you as a prisoner actually make sense?" She asked, poking holes in the theory that Amara wouldn't want her here. "I don't even want to consider you a prisoner, but if you insist on being here against your will..." She shrugged. Those words were soft, lightly spoken. A prisoner or not- she'd be safe here.

the sea does not like to be restrained Her frustration builds until she just wants to lay down and shut her eyes and avoid this mess that she has found herself in, but she remains where she is seated, trying to talk sense in to @Helah ♔. She isn't sure that sense and Helah can go into the same sentence, bur she's willing to try for her own sake. It's not, after all, that she dislikes Helah. Revna only dislikes and does not understand what is happening right now. She does not like being treated as a possession. "The Sigrun family and the Dieudonne family have hated each other for a long time," she replies with a shake of her head. Amara had told her the story, but Revna is not about to share the entire saga with Helah. That is something for Amara to do. "It started before I came here," she adds with a shrug, by way of explanation. Ulla had started it, really, with the support of Magnus. She blinks at Helah. Had she never mentioned her surname? It is hard to remember just when she had first met the lioness in the Pit. Had she left the family already. "I don't claim it anymore," she says cautiously. She had not introduced herself as a Sigrun in some time. "But they are still my family." Even Amara had trouble understanding that she had pushed aside the beliefs of her family. She knows she'll never be truly separate from them, even if she no longer follows their beliefs. She gives Helah a wry smile. "Prisoner, spy....families have secrets they don't want their enemies knowing. Better to keep them at arms length than in your home." And would she share what she learned if she were here? She isn't certain, but she is sure Amara will think of such things.

It can't be said that Helah isn't an excellent example of attentive. She listens, with her ears pricked, not trying to touch her again. But @Revna speaks and her words still make no sense to Helah. Helah cannot see what's wrong with the entire situation. She had taken the chance to keep Revna out of danger, that clearly the female wasn't considering her own self preservation. So her "theft" of Revna made perfect sense in Helah's mind. She was safe, and Helah had offered to fetch her kid. 10 points to Helah for romance.

It isn't that Helah is daft, actually far from it. She wonders what had occurred, apparently before Helah's arrival- possibly before her birth depending on how long this feud went back. Really, the only feud she knew of was that with the Miroslav. And of course, Helah's personal issues with Cassandra and her interference in her and Louve's fight. Rude.

"If you don't claim it anymore... I don't see why it would matter." She says slowly, but there is a flicker of doubt in her mind- a creature who was self assured at all times. Now Helah was questioning herself, and her choice and that simply wouldn't do.

Revna goes on to imply the similarity between a spy and prisoner, and says that it's safer to keep enemies at arms length than in your home. Helah scoffs. "That sounds like a boring way to live." She says flatly. It really did- very boring. Without scandal and conflict, what point was there to living.

"The Brook isn't safe for you, though. The Bluffs are strong. No one bothers us." She comes back to this point. "You don't even know if your pride is still a pride. We have a pride that is for sure a pride." She says firmly- because for all they knew- Cassandra had lost the Brook in their absence.

"It doesn't have to be... bad." She said, her tone soft, meant only for Revna. "I don't intend to hurt you." Truly, she hadn't intended to hurt Revna at all, that made sense when one considered their ridiculous fight.

Amara moved from the other side of the Bluffs toward the call. It took her some time to get there but when she arrived she was faced with two familiar faces who seemed to be bickering. @ Revna was sitting at the borders and it seemed that her and @Helah ♔ knew each other. She couldn't make out what was being said between them as she walked closer. Why were they together? It hadn't been Revna who called for her so what was going on. She came to stand near Helah, the questions in her mind were clear in her gaze as she flicked it between the two. One of them would tell her what was going on and why the Brook's sovereign was here.
