It's not hunger anymore, but sport; pure, brutal sport. Every night, it seems to end the same way: him, scouting the lands, before bathing in so much blood. It's why he's here, stalking the earth, chasing the scent of prey. It never seems enough for him. Another hunt, another feast, another trophy to add to his collection. Here, the oceans quiver beneath the hungry moonlight, the waters languishing against the shore. A rhythmic thrum, to all that mercurial silver. The promises of blood saturates his mouth, minging with rivulets of saliva. He can all but taste death upon his tongue, pooling like religion between his teeth. The whispers of it makes Harou feel alive, and he pursues it fiercely: this feeling of aliveness.

4 years, no bonus Another night spent away from the plains, searching for excitement to occupy her time. Hunting typically was not her preferred passtime, but it gave her ample opportunity to explore and work her body. It was an added bonus that any enemies were also too preoccupied with the hunt to pay her any mind, and she wasn’t exactly in the mood to pick any fights for the time being. A male stood on the beach, and while there wasn’t any group clustered around him yet, she suspected this might be the beginning of another of those forming hunting parties and moved in closer, giving him a quiet nod before looking around to see who else might join them.

Another day, another hunt; it seemed that prepping for the winter months was inevitable and while she might have enjoyed not participating, Zelda was also itching to do something other than take another snooze. The desert was nearly always warm but even she could feel the bite of the cold breeze lately. The eastern shore and its sand was no different, if only a bit nippier but she was here so why not make the most of it. Only two lions seemed to have caught the scent of this one (surprising) but she settled in close by and waited until either one of them made the move before she would. Best not to look the fool if no one else was doing it.

Once again, the night has welcomed the young Starke into its dark embrace. If not for the shimmer of moonlight caressing the edges of his lanky silhouette, Hubert dark coat would be barely discernible against the waves of obsidian sand. Even now, as he stalks his way through the shadows cast by the rock, seaside cliffs, his frame is nearly entirely lost. It allows him the privacy to carry out his current task, carefully pawing at the sandy earth to uproot a few clumps of hemlock, some of the last that has yet to succumb to the cold winds of winter. It's no wonder that they're able to grow here of all places, if the leaves are that hardy. Hopefully, they'll endure in his stores just as well.

A distraction catches the corner of his eye in the middle of it all, however, and he reflexively turns his head to behold the pale man prowling down the beach like a ghost in the moonlight. It would be a lie to say the vision does not entrance him, though he could not say exactly why. In a split-second decision, the Prince would tuck his already-collected herbs into a hidden crevice within the rocks, slipping from the shadows to follow the mysterious stranger.

He joins with others along the way, and Hubert can detect the faint scent of warm prey within the salty ocean breeze. So it shall be a hunt, after all. Very well, then. It'll be easy enough to explain away his reasons for being here if he were to bring something tasty back to the swamp.

The shore was always a great place to restock up on cape aloe. With having aided one of her pride mates lately and having to use some of it, moving out here to recollect was on the schedule. Roaming the sandy beach and studying each individual plant to find the healthiest one, testing its strength on its full body before breaking off a piece. Checking to see what each leaves color was and if it was anything less than a vibrant green, it wasn't worth taking. It's little bumps and ridges were strong on the upside leaving the plant to appear healthy and useful, breaking off a piece of it before carrying on to yet another gathering of lions that were seemingly on the hunt. Setting aside her cape aloe, she prepared herself to help since she was in the area.

On either side of him, onyx beach sands crawl by in an seemingly interminable sprawl. Despite the incipient chill in the night air, he's perspiring lightly, warmed by his long, tireless trek along the shoreline. He's on the trail of something, and as he pads along, paws sinking into the soft, yielding sand at every step, it seems he's not the only one. Others have left a jumble of printed tracks before him. Most are clearly leonine, but some appear to be more hoof-like, clearly herbivorous in nature. He's getting close, and with renewed strength he presses on, drawing ever nearer to an unsuspecting quarry.

He might have defended this shore if the circumstances were different. He might have unleashed himself upon the foreigners there – invoked the name of Vellen to rebuke those who sought to take more than they were owed. As it were, Ölvir remained merely mortal, exalted above none. He surged forward instead to aid in the cause. His muscles rippled under the taut sheet of his ebony coat as he attempted to come up on the outskirts of that gathering, intent on serving as the brawn that would help bring their target down. He parted his jaws in a rhythmic pant to allow their chaotic show to rise to its full glory there upon the sands.

Did Sedona trust such a strange group? The young lioness skirted around the borders of the shore that night with silent steps, trying to take advantage of her slight stature in the hopes that it might prevent her from going noticed by the others. She was not accustomed to the sands scraping at her paws nor the unfamiliar scents of lions likely hailing from all over that sprawling land. Still, Sedona was a huntress above most else – did that not require a bit of adaptability when it was required? Prey wafted clearly upon the breeze with its tantalizing aroma, guiding the cat's paws in earnest pursuit.

Her chest burning with resolve, she raced forward across the beach to assist in corraling their target. Her small paws were nimble and quick, her bobbed tail reducing drag as she sprinted. Luck willing, she would return home with a full belly and more to spare.

Alexander found himself amongst another group of lions searching for prey. It seemed he wasn't the only one looking to bring home food and begin preparing for the upcoming winter. A cache would be needed as they pride would likely not be able to find some prey readily available once the temperatures began to drop. This particular setting, however, was quite odd to him. He hadn't did any hunting on a beach before. Coming up beside the group, he eyes some of them warily before looking toward the night sky, then the horizon for any potential prey.

another day, another hunt. orrr, well, another night. their paths seem to keep crossing when the moon is full and the world is dark and quiet — it adds to harou’s whole spooky vibes. and, truly, the little wolf prince is intrigued and a little jealous. maybe he’ll grow up to have such cool vibes like that. God, he hopes. In the meantime though he’s busy thinking of this and more instead of, you know, doing anything productive — surely there are things back at the summit he could be working on, but… nahhhh. Let penny take over being the cool, awesome royal son now it was virgil's time to kick back and relax. Well, actually,  it’s time for another nighttime hunt! A midnight snack was just the thing to soothe him tonight. joining them quietly, quicksilver eyes are alert as he looks for what they'll be hunting.
