Had it been enough time yet? Roan had no intentions of smothering his newest found Hodari kin, but he also was eager to learn about this new family member as he wandered through the tunnels. Hope bubbled in his chest that @Isolda might be home in her den at this time as the king made his way in her direction. Between his jaws hung a small hare. Nothing fancy, but just something he could offer in case the woman was having trouble settling in. Eventually coming to a stop just outside the mane woman's den entrance, Roan gently dropped the meal at his feet before ushering a few chuffs from outside. "Isolda? You home?" Hopefully she was, or at least nearby enough to hear him. If not, this would be a very short thread XD

Quietly she was resting in her den, a little hollow in one of the caverns tunnels. She had made it warmer with a nice large pelt of a zebra and some leaves. It kept it nice and cozy here. She appreciated Roan giving her a home, but now that she was here her nerves were getting the better of her. It had been too long since she had been around family, and she felt out of place in a place she should feel at home.

Roan's voice entered the caverns and she moved to enter the mouth of her den so he could see her better. "Roan" she greeted softly with a smile though she seemed tired. But it wasn't his fault, she just felt drained emotionally.

The masked lion was not left to wait for long before his cousin's face appeared within the den's entrance. Dark tipped ears flicked forward briefly, happy to see the woman was indeed home. Roan noted the tired appearance of @Isolda, hoping he hadn't disturbed her from slumber. "Isolda," the mauve man greeted with a gentle smile. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything..." He'd let his voice trail off briefly in question, not wanting to directly call out his cousin's fatigued impression. "I just wanted to check in and see how you were settling into Obsidian." Living underground wasn't for everyone, after all, even if it was with family.

Roan looked concerned which caused Isolda to smile, she shook her head while reclining into a seated position. "Not at all, just resting," she reassured her cousin, there wasn't much to interrupt really. She was alone.

"I am settling... well?" she said with a shrug of her shoulders before sighing, she'd better explain. "I have been alone so long that I have forgotten what it's like to be around family. True family." she admitted with a low chuckle it sounded stupider out loud now.

"I guess you could say I am having a bit of a crisis in my older years, I have no children despite a want for them, no mate. I've just become a hermit," she added it wasn't her seeking pity she was just chuckling at her misfortune, maybe it was best this way? Who knows what the stars had planned for her...

The mauve man's expression brightened when @Isolda assured him he was not bothering her. A part of him doubted if she would have admitted it either way if he had roused her from true sleep, though. At hearing that she hadn't been around family for a long time, however, Roan's ears wilted slightly. Even when his family had been broken up and splintered across Amaryllis, they were always still around somewhere. He was never truly alone or without his family within some sort of reach. "I can only imagine what that's like," the man admitted sympathetically. "It must be a bit overwhelming to suddenly be thrown into a whole mess of family you've never met before." The masked man's shoulders shrugged lightly. It wasn't the first wayward kin he had found, however, though he hoped Isolda would stick around longer than the others. Maybe it was just too hard for them to get to know so many new faces.

The ashen woman's 'crisis' was not unheard of for the Hodari male. It was only over the last couple years that he had finally managed to build his own family. A wife, children, this home. Obsidian had given him so much to be grateful for. "There's still plenty of time for that," the mauve king encouraged. "I've only been with my wife for about a year and a half now, and our children are still young, yet I will be eight in just a few more months. You'll find someone, find your stride in life." Not everyone found their first love so young like his father.

Isolda nodded quietly, it was quite hard to be on your own or with just your cousins and to be thrust back into a family group. Isolda hadn't made the journey that her cousin had to go back home, maybe she should have? Just to see them again. "I traveled with a cousin for a while, but he returned to our family pride for a bit. He may return, but I'm not holding on hope for it," she explained, Dravite marched to his own beat now instead of following his sister. She wouldn't expect him to become attatched to her instead.

a low chuckle left her lungs, "There was a man once, but I quickly learned he was two faced," she snorted at the memory. Isolda smiled warmly at Roan, "if not, i can always be the Hodari crone for the family," she teased with a wink, if she didn't keep her head up and at least a little positive she would risk drowning in her own self-pity.

Dark tipped ears flicked forward with interest when @Isolda mentioned her cousin and their family pride. "That's still pretty cool, though, that you even have a family pride to go back to." The king's voice spoke genuinely. Though there was a slight twinge of jealousy with this fact, there was a larger feeling of just pure fascination. There were other Hodari's out there somewhere, even if this pride his cousin spoke of was more Satoshi than Hodari. There were still so many branches of the family tree he was completely oblivious to. "I've only ever really lived with my immediate family my whole life. Dad, step-mom, siblings. I had an aunt around for a while, too, but that was mostly it until having my own kids, and nieces and nephews." The Hodari numbers in Amaryllis we're certainly sparse.

Roan joined in with his cousin's chuckle. At least she could have some humor with herself. "I can keep my eyes open for potential bachelors, if you like," the mauve man teased playfully. Even if she was a bit old to think about an arranged marriage for, it still couldn't hurt to at least put the feeling out there. As for being the crone of the family, she had competition, though neither were currently still in Amaryllis. "Wouldn't be the first Hodari crone," the king snickered as his head fell in laughter for a moment. In doing so, minty gaze swept the ground enough to be reminded of the hare he had brought for his cousin. "Oh right. I brought you something. In case you were hungry," said as a socked paw pushed the carcass forward.

A small smile flicked across her maw, maybe it was 'cool' but she wasn't sure if there was much of a pride to go back to. They had said they were moving east, to the mountains for the cleaner air as a lot of the eldery in the pride found it hard to live in the savannah area. Isolda might not be able to track them if she should try next time. "Ah young ones... " she sighed with a little laugh.

"Bachelors, bachelorettes. Either is fine," she would joke back laughing, if he was serious and wanted to play matchmaker she would not oppose him. But it would not be easy, Isolda would not fall for a man who was swelled in the head with ambition. "Oh i should decorate my den with spooky things and tell scary stories to the young ones" she was half joking while looking over the mouth of her den. It could use some decorating, not necessarily spooky kind.

A ear cocked back to listen to him while she turned her head to look at the gift, moving a paw to drag it forward. a low hum in her throat she smiled, "thank you," she started before adding with a curious incline of her head, "Have you heard of the tale of the rabbits foot?"

The sigh in his cousin's voice was not missed. @Isolda seemed fond of children, perhaps just the idea of a family of her own in general, so Roan wouldn't draw too long on talking about his own. He didn't want to pour any salt in the wound. "They don't stay young long enough," the masked Hodari mused with a faint grin.

With the mention of both bachelor's and bachelorettes being an option for Isolda, Roan didn't bat an eye. He knew his sister was like that, too. That a lion's gender didn't matter. It all came down to what kind of lion they were. "Heh, fair enough. Double the options," the king smirked casually, showing he had no qualms with any of it. As for decorating her den, Roan chuckled. "I bet some of the kids would actually really enjoy that." The king snickered while trying to imagine what his kids might think of a spooky den to hear stories in if Isolda was willing.

"No problem." It wasn't much, but he just wanted to make sure his cousin was eating enough and feeling at home in the Hollow. With the mention of a story pertaining to a rabbit, though, the king's brows rose. "Can't say I have. Is it a spooky story?" the Hodari teased again since they had just been talking about scary stories.

"That depends on what you take from it," she said with a wink, it could be a story of caution or a story of adventure. Depending how you viewed it when you heard it. But she wouldn't reveal her secret stories just yet, he may be a cousin of sorts but he would have to wait and hear it with the cubs. Standing she would stretch a bit before looking at Roan with a grin. "Help me find a rabbit?" she asked with a low laugh before moving off into the underbrush to seek one out.
