This was the last place in the world she would have chosen to be of her own accord, at least under its current leadership. She had been unimpressed by Walpurgis' speech, but she would admit that the strange lioness was strong. It was about the only thing she had going for her. She had told Tyr that she would scope out the place, however, and that was exactly what she was going to do, whether she liked the high sovereign or not.

She could swallow her pride just this once.

There would be no chance of her getting attached to things here. She could barely stomach this little bit, but she could damn well fake that she was interested in this supposed pride of warriors. Approaching the all-too-familiar border, the wheaten lioness padded across the sands. She had lived here for a time, until the incident where she had requested to be released from the pride. And then shortly after it had disbanded and this creature had taken over.

The scent of the border strong now, Tiamat stopped and offered up a chuff that carried into the pride's territory; a sound of summons if the leader was interested in having members in her pride. Now, all there was nothing more she could do but wait.

Was there another Sexy Ass Female on her borders why yes there was. Walpurgis had no problem believing that her reign would be prime habitat for the sexiest of the island's inhabitants. The question poised on her lips, between brain and throat, was whether this was a lady or WARRIOR. The question was somewhat less drastic than the Lady vs Tiger dilemma but the burly lioness chugged along with great haste. Overwhelmed with her celebrity status? Maybe definitely. Pushing ahead despite that? Absolutely.

Walpurgis had keen sight. She pushed that to the limit, squinting and challenging the horizon to bear the form of her visitor. Finally! She grinned when she finally spotted her. New friend new friend. Or enemy.

"Hey oh - hey! - hello! Wanna come in?" This female was closer to her age. Appealing. She did not have the edgelord coloring her family had. @Tiamat was colored like sand like she belonged here, which was convenient because Walpurgis wanted her here.

It wasn't too long before the new ruler of the Lagoon appeared on the horizon, her dark red fur coming into focus as she approached. Tiamat did not like @Walpurgis, but she was going to have to pretend to at least want to be a member here for the time being. The question was, what would it be better to pose as; a lady or a warrior?

By nature and blood, Tiamat was a warrior through and through. Would she be able to pretend to be a mere lady? Probably not. She would have to see what Walpurgis thought of another female warrior in her lands.

So, when the red sovereign came near and asked if she wanted to come in, Tiamat gave her a toothy grin, as friendly as she could make it. "Oh, can I?" she asked, forcing enthusiasm into her voice. "I saw you fight for this place and you are so strong," she purred, shooting for flattery and going with things that weren't fully lies to make it easier to pretend (she had seen the fight, and Walpurgis certainly was strong). She didn't say she was a warrior, but perhaps her scars would give her away. The ones on her face were hard to miss.

Whopper paused a moment in confusion because really, could she? There was nobody for the High WARRIOR to ask for permission. No king above her to obey. Just herself. And herself was a temperament, uncertain creature, easily jumbled about by the vagaries of pleasant conversation. "I think so," she explained slowly. "Da old pride be all gone. I'm in charge. An' I say you can come in." That... should work? Right? She glanced around, wishing for some sort of reassurance but finding nothing before the female's continued words had her gaze jerking back. The female spoke so pretty that Whopper's grin split even more broadly than before, lips writhing over a great assortment of yellowing fangs. Yes Whopper was very strong. She was. "I am real strong! I good at fighting... on sand. And everywhere. You wanna see? Wanna fight?" This possibility came to mind with sudden urgency. The desire to get closer, to smell scent and wrap claws around tender places. That was the fighting spirit.

God, it seemed even a simple, light-hearted question could confuse the simpleton who had somehow managed to take over the Lagoon. Tiamat knew that Ragna had lost the fight because she was weaker, but she was starting to think that these things shouldn't be totally decided based on brawn. Otherwise you might get....well, something like this.

It took every ounce of self-control she had to school her facial features into something that was not an incredulous stare at the maroon creature before her. "Well, if you're in charge then what you say is the law," she said, forcing a lightness to her voice as she stepped over the boundary line and into Lagoon pride territory. A familiar place for her, even if it had been her home for only a short time.

And then the high sovereign offered a fight, and Tiamat was the one to be confused. What should she say to that? Yes or no? This might determine the role that Walpurgis put her in - warrior or lady seemed to be the options if she remembered the victory speech right - and she wasn't sure which would be better for what she needed. Still, the idea of testing her mettle against the beast that had taken the Lagoon from the Sigrun was a tempting morsel.

"Oh, I don't think I could beat you," she said with a shake of her head. "You're just so strong." The hesitation wasn't feigned this time around. She didn't think she could beat Walpurgis, who was quite strong in body, if not mind. "But if you really want to show me, then I will fight you just to see how good you are."

The female spoke lightly and Whopper couldn't tell any falsity in it. Everything she said was true. And it was vindicating to have females speak so sweetly to her. "Ya," She agreed. "I am da law." And that was pretty cool. She didn't know what she was doing but she was quickly finding power was to her liking. The part of it that made others like her at least.

When the female agreed to come in, Whopper half raced ahead ducking sideways like a dog offering to play. And at the further compliment she lost whatever restraint she had and chuckled out hoarse. She tossed her head and posed all nice. She was a bow-legged and fore-muscly thing. "I am so strong! You can see, yeah? I unno if I wanna fight you really. Not nice ta beat up ladies." This was where the female had been sub-consciously placed due to being so nice to her.

"You are very strong," Tiamat purred in response. The words were true; @Walpurgis was strong. Her front was heavily muscled, despite her bowed legs, and that gave her an advantage. She was not the....prettiest lion. But she was strong. That was no arguable. The only part of her statement that was false was the admiration she tried to force into it. If this lion had been anyone else, Tiamat would not have been able to fool them at all.

Tiamat also wasn't good at being a lady. She was a gruff creature who didn't see the point in the batting of eyelashes and being demure, like many thought a lady should be. In her culture, women were valued warriors. Perhaps Walpurgis would have fit into the Anatu Clan in that sense. But, for the sake of her mission, she would try. So, approaching the posing high sovereign, she bowed her head. "Can I join your pride?" she asked, trying to sound....humble? Actually interested in this? She didn't even know herself.

"I would love to see you fight again someday," she offered, glancing up from her bowed head and blinking a bit - trying to bat her eyelashes in a feminine way and not doing a very good job of something that was entirely unnatural to her.
