Alaiya's bite had landed upon his neck, and while he did shove the maned part of him into her mouth, her teeth still found skin to grab at. He found the tips of her teeth pinching through shallow skin to be painful - the sensation shooting down his front legs. He couldn't tell if he was bleeding - likely, but it was likely that it was also going to be trapped and matted in his mane for a while. The lioness jerked back, and with it came his skin, and he groaned in agony feeling the sensation course through his nerves all over again.

His teeth found purchase on her sweet, sweet flesh as he aimed a bite for the skin nearest to her armpit. And even when he shook his head to deepen the bite, the lioness would try to take advantage of his position. She aimed a clawed swipe at his face, and as he squeezed his eyes shut to avoid them being damaged by her claws, he pretty much ate the facial wounds in favor of surging forward, hoping to knock into her hard enough to breach her balance and knock her over.

With blood dripping into his eyes from her swipe and the new wounds stinging, he removed the paw that held her back, that dug his claws into her flesh in hopes that without the support of him holding her where we wanted her, she would tumble - both from his body mass and the uneven ground of the Bluffs' border.

Her claws sliced into his face, narrowly missing his eyes, which was a shame. A little maiming might have done the asshole some good. But as she was distracted with her attack, Caelum pushed forward, causing her to lose her already precarious balance. Then he removed his claws from her back; her last bit of support taken away. She fell to the ground time time, unable to maintain her position.

The wound on her shoulder, where he had bitten down and shaken his head, tearing the flesh, stretched as she fell and searing pain burned through her leg. As she went down she reached out with her front legs, less in an attack and more in an attempt to desperately stabilize herself, claws extended and tried to grab his front legs.

Xerxes swings his attention to @Amara as she lays out the rules, and which point he scowls. "Women are to be respected, Amara. You are taking away her dignity by subjecting her to this scum and I will not allow her to be beaten and used as a sexual toy. If she loses the challenge, I will challenge for her freedom until the last breath leaves my body. Think about this, because he sure hasn't." His gaze is steel as he studies her, confused as to how she could possibly disrespect another woman in such a way. "The woman doesn't want to be here and she doesn't want to be with him. I will not sit idly by and allow a woman to be abused." Because they were more important than the men -- or had Amara forgotten?

Throwing his weight at her, Alaiya fell from the unstable rocks. In a last minute attempt, she reached out with her paws, claws extended, hoping to stablize herself, and Caelum did not move. He allowed the wounds to dig into the backs of his front ankles, to ensure his plaything wasn't too injured on her way down, to ensure she didn't fall and roll the incline of the mountain.

Once it was evident who had won the dominance spar, Caelum stopped in his tracks. While he didn't mind roughing the female up to behave, he had fought her on the way here, and this was only to appease Amara. And because he had won, he considered her appeased. He didn't want to damage Pinky any more than he needed to, and while his wounds stung and ached (and pissed him off), he would bite the bullet for the meantime. He was sure they could settle in and lick each other's wounds later; Caelum would perhaps get another excuse to rough her up for bad behavior.

A voice boomed from behind him, and Xerxes stepped up to defend Alaiya's honor, and Caelum rolled his fucking eyes. Had he not remembered Xerxes calling Dhaveira a bitch and offering to steal her from the war without batting an eye? Different female, but same concept. What made her so unworthy, but Alaiya much more worthy? Or was this just Xerxes trying to give him a hard time?

Caelum growled, but otherwise ignored Xerxes, and looked to Amara. Why was everyone trying to make this so damn difficult? "Are you satisfied, Amara?" Caelum asked, trying to further his point of ignoring Xerxes, to hopefully get Amara to call off her dog so Caelum could take his new prize and rest.

She had known from the start that she would lose.

Just as she had lost their first fight, and the fight on the way here, Alaiya wasn't strong enough to beat him. She wasn't good at fighting. She wasn't as strong. Between that and her wounds from their match in the woods, Alaiya had been in with very little chance of winning her freedom here.

Her claws dug into @Caelum's ankles, giving her the purchase that she needed to keep herself from going down too hard and sliding down the side of the rocky terrain. She let go almost as soon as she was stable, well aware that he had let her dig her claws in, turning her head away from him with her ears flattened against her skull. What had been his motive for keeping her from sliding down the mountain? She would have loved to have told herself that he was being nice, but it was more likely something selfish. She just wasn't sure what.

Her ears flicked forward to catch the words that spouted from the gray male that had been watching the fight. He seemed...eager to defend her. If she had been thinking clearly at this point maybe she would have used it to her advantage, but Alaiya was done with this circus. He was the enemy, as far as she was concerned. She didn't want anything he had to offer. Any help that came from any of these lions would likely not be offered from the kindness of their hearts.

She pushed herself back onto her feet, stumbling a little, and pinned her ears back again. "Fuck off," she said directly to Xerxes. She rarely swore, but today she was making an exception. She hated all of them, and that hatred was settling in the pit of her stomach. She just wanted this all to be over. "I don't want help from any of you," she growled. Though she spoke of all of the Wolfbron lions, her gaze rested on Xerxes alone. "Just leave me alone! You've all done enough damage." To her, to her life, to everything. She was done.

Her eyes cut to Caelum. "Where do I stay?" she demanded of him. If she was going to be living here then she might as well figure out where she would be sleeping. Maybe she could barricade herself in a den and forget about all of them.

"Enjoy being a sex slave then," Xerxes replied curtly. There was no doubt in his mind that Caelum would have her pregnant before too long, and he highly doubted it was going to be consensual. The lion rolled his eyes as the bitch simply accepted her fate, and though it pained him to know Amara would allow such a stupid man into their pride, Xerxes understood now that Wolfbron was no longer his home. The Dieudonne were likely no longer his family, either, and he felt a pang of grief knowing his mother would be ashamed of what the family had become.

Amara's annoyance at the male grew as he seemed to think that something happening outside of her view would somehow appease her. Clearly, he didn't seem to know her. It was the female's outburst that causes Amara to care about her even less. Zoticus lost this land in a fair fight. If you have issues with it, take it up with him. He didn't come back to try and reclaim it. He walked away and left you and all the others to fend for yourselves. Her tone was low and dangerous. Loyalty didn't mean anything to him. He didn't care about any of them so why should they care about him? The fight started and Amara was content to watch it but it seemed that she was alone in that as Xerxes started talking. She shook her head slightly, she had no clue what the plans were for this lioness but if she wanted her freedom, then she would have to earn it. We respect strong lionesses. If she can put forth enough effort to protect herself, why should we? They weren't in the business of protecting the weak and as far as she knew, the family never had been. She snapped her attention back to the fight as it ends. She moves closer to @Caelum, the scent of his blood mixing with the females. While we respect strong lionesses here, abuse of any won't be allowed. She spoke to him as she leveled a heavy gaze on him. Should any trouble come from this, you will be expected to handle it. Understood? Cleaning up others' messes wasn't on her to-do list. She snapped her gaze to @Alaiya and looked her over. We have no medics but I will send someone to our old medic's den to get you something to tend to your wounds. Nothing about her softened as she spoke. Maybe in time you'll see that you missed out by not saying here after being abandoned by Zoticus. She nearly snickered at the thought. Go. Both of you. She snapped at them before looking at the others gathered as Xerxes spoke again and she growled lowly. She was over this gathering. exit

Caelum was both surprised and floored when @Alaiya used her own voice to defend herself, to stand her ground against Xerxes, who had offered to defend her. Maybe it was a bit stupid of her, too, because had she been so desperate to leave, wouldn't she have accepted any and all distractions?

Caelum didn't linger too long on the thought because soon a question was aimed at him, and his light blue eyes focused on Pinky. "With me." Where else would she stay? Could he trust his pride mates to not fuck with her? No, he couldn't.

He barely noticed when Xerxes excused himself because his eyes were on @Amara, who reiterated that if any repercussions were to come from this theft, Caelum was responsible for his own drama. The brute nodded, though feeling a bit disappointed as Amara laid down the law and said that he couldn't abuse her. Awww...

Oh, well, he'd just have to punish her outside of the pride lands then.

Caelum nodded as Amara ordered them off, and briefly looking over his shoulder towards Alaiya, he began climbing the mountains, intending to lead Alaiya towards her new home.

As @Amara took over, he was content to fade into the background, so to speak, to see what would happen. An order to fight for the girl, or, the girl to fight for herself - hardly mattered, he figured the outcome would be the same either way. She was an angry thing, and not entirely for the simple reason she'd been abducted from her home. Apparently she'd lived in the bluffs before Amara's time, which was also before his own time in the pride. He had no idea, actually, who 'Zoticus' was, and didn't figure it mattered all that much if he hadn't come to try stealing the pride back.

Xerxes raised an interesting point, but no matter how well he played to the expectations of the pride culture Ryker's personal belief was that strength should be valued over all.

For the most part, the fight itself was dull in that the outcome had been predictable. It got a little exciting when the girl lost her footing, but she made it back to a solid position easily enough. Seemed she'd be staying, whether she liked it or not.

While Amara spoke, explaining things and laying out rules, Xerxes' exit would be observed with a bland expression. Ryker couldn't quite help but wonder what might happen if he poked at that anger in just the right ways, but had no way of knowing he'd never get a chance to experiment.

He was also very curious what sort of consequences might come from this for @Caelum in particular. Things seemed to be drawing to an end, and, really, Ryker had a few better things to do with the rest of the day. With a nod to Amara, and a slight smirk in the general direction of Caelum, he'd turn and move to finish up his interrupted border patrol.
