Truth be told, Roan had missed the joining of Hrefna's sister, so it wasn't an expected occurrence to then have the girl's brother show up next. Unlike when Dahlia joined, though, the Hodari was actually within the Hollow this time to hear the summons. Heeding the call, the king arrived in due time, finding a young, patchwork male upon their borders. "Hello there," the masked man greeted in kind as made his way out of the shadows of the cave opening. "I am Roan Hodari, king here in Obsidian." The introduction was a relaxed one, perhaps alluding to the new father's slight lack of sleep lately as he opted to fold his haunches beneath him. "Who might you be, and what can I help you with?" Roan had some assumptions as he noted the call had not only been for himself but for Hrefna as well. Was this a Sigrun at his doorstep? But @Oskar didn't exactly look like a typical example. Though the minty eyed lion had met Desdemona before, the calico woman's connection didn't immediately jump to the forefront of his mind just yet.
Roan's suspicions about @Oskar being a Sigrun were quickly confirmed as the ashen boy introduced himself. He had a wonder if more of the family might find its way to the Hollows now that they no longer held a stronghold of their own. While the Hodari had his own morals to contend with regarding some of their practices, he would not be one to turn away someone's desire to join their family in Obsidian. "Nothing to apologize for," Roan waved off the yearling's formalities casually. "Pleasure to meet you, Oskar." A warm grin sprouted across the tired man's face. "Any sibling of Hrefna's is more than welcome here." The mention of Dahlia wasn't missed, though, making the mauve lion realize he had missed the induction of other Sigruns into the Hollow. "I'm ashamed to say I haven't yet met your other sister, though. Someone else must have accepted her," Roan sheepishly admitted. It wasn't a bad realization, though, to know that his ranked members were doing well with bringing in new members to the quiet Hollow.
With the addition of another young Sigrun, though, the Hodari still needed to do his due diligence. "Has Hrefna already told you about our rules in Obsidian? Do you have any questions?" While the boy seemed nice enough, nervous even, he was still a Sigrun. Given Roan's varied experience with the family, it couldn't hurt to try and get a better ideal of Oskar's personality, though there was very little the patchwork male could say to make the Hodari deny him from joining.
It eased a little bit of worry to know that Dahlia was a more recent addition to the Hollow. At least Roan hadn't been gone months without meeting her yet. Surely they would cross paths eventually, right? The young Sigruns were bound to show up at a pride hunt soon enough, perhaps. In any case, the mauve lion was more than happy to have @Oskar join them as well. "Sounds like a fine addition, then," the masked man nodded to the younger lion's description of his sister.
Despite the quietness that often took over Obsidian, many of its members were still often busy with their own affairs, so it wouldn't surprise the Hodari to hear that Oskar hadn't had much of a chance to catch up with his other sister since she joined the Hollow. Roan hadn't had much time with Hrefna either, even yet to officially meet his great-nephews. Though for that matter, he didn't think Hrefna, nor Lysander, had met Roan's youngest children either. "Not to worry. We keep things pretty simple here," the High Sovereign started off with a casual tone. "I just ask that everyone pulls their weight around Obsidian. Play to your strengths and help out where you can. We all take part in the hunts, protect the borders, and watch out for the cubs. That sort of thing." Roan never felt like he needed to go into too much detail about the "rules" as there wasn't much to really go over. A lot of it was just common sense, or at least he hoped it was common sense. "Things can be a little quiet around here, but after all the homes I've lived through in my years, I don't mind a bit of quiet." It might be a bit boring, but the lions of Obsidian still managed to find ways to get together from time to time.
As for what Oskar might bring to the table, Roan wasn't particularly concerned of the matter, fully expecting any Sigrun who joined them to be an asset to the pride. Still, it wouldn't hurt to know where the boy planned to focus his efforts as he grew. "What sort of tasks interest you, Oskar?" The minty-eyed king sought to turn the attention back onto the yearling before the patchwork lion mentioned his father. "Thank you," Roan couldn't help but feel a grin form across his face. It was always nice to hear that others respected him considering how lesser known the Hodari family probably was across Amaryllis. "I think very highly of your father as well. Magnus has always been a good ally to my family," the mauve lion offered with a slight dip of his crown. He respected Magnus the most out of the many Sigrun across the lands, and trusted the man wholeheartedly. Though the same could not be said for the whole of the Sigrun clan, that was an internal moral conflict Roan was still working on.
@Roan
The masked man worried, sometimes, that the quiet nature of the Hollow would be unappealing to some. And truthfully, it probably was, but he was pleased to hear that it wouldn't deter @Oskar from joining his sisters. Considering all the Sigrun family had been through, even just the little that Roan was aware of, he could only imagine what life was like among the large clan. Obsidian was nothing if not a sanctuary for the weary.
Being Magnus's son, the Hodari had his own assumptions on what Oskar's strengths might be. He did not posses his father's larger stature, though, so perhaps fighting was not to be expected. The way of diplomacy was much more easily anticipated, though, leading Roan to further assume Desdemona to be the yearling's mother. "We can always use more ears to the ground," the masked man commented with a light nod of his head. "I'd like to think we are on fairly good terms with most prides, or at least neutral with them. No true enemies to speak of," Roan started off. If Oskar was to assist with relations between the prides, he should at least know where the Hollow stood with the rest of Amaryllis. "Should you hear anything different, though, I hope you will let me know. For the time being, Vermeda is our only concrete ally." And he'd leave it at that for now.
"I'd better go and find Dahlia and Hrefna, unless you needed anything else of me?" He would linger until dismissed, at which point he would then head into the depths of his new home to seek out his kin.
"Thank you, Oskar," the mauve lion returned with a small nod of his head. Though the Hodari might still be on the fence about the Sigrun as a whole, he could not discredit the individuals. @Oskar didn't seem a thing like some of the other Sigruns Roan was familiar with. Not like Saga or Ulla, but then again, he had only just met the boy, and the patchwork lion was still young at it were. There was time to see where he might still fit among the larger network of his own family. For now, though, the mauve lion was more than happy to have him join the Hollow as another ambassador to help keep things running smoothly.
With mention of the boy's sisters, the masked man gave a light shake of his head. "No, I think we're done here. Feel free to find yourself a den and get familiar with the tunnels." It had been too long to expect that Oskar had once lived here like Hrefna had as a child, right? Either way, there was little needed at the moment. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to call for me." A small grin formed across the Hodari's face as he followed the yearling into the tunnels a bit. "And welcome to Obsidian, Oskar." With that, the king would seek to depart, knowing that the newest member wanted to find his family within the Hollow.
