July Y13
Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

faustine has not been seen by the eyes of many recently. she wasn't struck by any sickness or injuries ( for what dieudonne woman would be that weak? ); indeed, it is something different for faustine dieudonne.. her birthday has passed and now she's a young woman and no longer the girl she once was. the future that was once just a slip of a vision has now ripened before her eyes. if lazare can raise a man from the dead, then what can faustine do to stand equal to her? this is not faustine saying she thinks ill of her sister - nay, far from it. as lazare was that light, showing her that the dieudonne aren't just the descendants of gods, but gods themselves. reincarnation. the word feels heavy on faustine's tongue, but it sends trickles of excitement into her veins. she lowers herself onto her belly, front legs folding under, as she peers out into the horizon, thinking what should she do for herself. something that's as impressive as raising the dead back into the world of the living. something that will seal her name forever within the annuls of dieudonne history.

She felt like she was a bit aimless at the moment. There were surely things she could be doing, but she didn't know what they were. A hunt was boring when it was just herself, and she didn't feel like calling the rest of the pride to help out. Besides, that wasn't what she felt like doing at the moment anyway.
Seemed like she wasn't the only one who had a lack of things to do, judging by the princess she saw laying in the distance. Faustine, she thought, remembering the girl (much younger) when she had first joined the pride.

How's it going Princess?she asked as she approached, not intending it sarcastically or rudely but realizing too late it might be interpreted that way. Dys took a seat beside her, looking out over the same vista, wondering what it was like to be royalty of this place.

it has been a while since faustine last saw @Dysnomia. from what she can remember, the woman brought no trouble for the pride. and it's not like any of the lions here should be causing trouble. one of her eyes flick over to the older woman, eyeing her movement until she has sat down besides faustine. the crocodile princess never had the pleasure of speaking to most of her mother's pride members for some time now. she's an adult; she ought to find a way to connect to them and learn what their ambition is - and why they want to be here of all places. i am well faustine says, flicking an ear back. what of you? are you liking this land?"

Well, she hadn't gotten her ear chewed off yet sooooo.... good start? Her ears twitched as Faustine asked her how she liked the Bluffs, somewhat surprised that any of the royal family would care how she was feeling about her time within the pride. She supposed that was the sort of thing one was supposed to care about though.
She tapped her claws against the ground briefly as she thought, debating whether or not it was a good idea to even ask the question she wanted to. Not that she would have to if there were more Dieu men around but they seemed to be in short supply, and much as she loved the idea of a female power couple she hadn't seen any indication that any of the women swung that way. Marrying into the family was easiest but if that wasn't an option then perhaps-
@Faustine
I am. It's nice not having to find a new home every few months. Even when someone dares to challenge, they don't stand a chance against the Dieudonne women, she replied. It was impressive, really, and the kind of notoreity and battle prowess she longed to possess herself. One she could certainly manage with time and practice, but the other... That was more difficult. But, speaking of which...

I am curious. Is there some way of becoming Dieudonne without marrying into the family? Some... right of passage or ritual or something?she asked. It surely didn't hurt to ask. Surely the worst that could happen would be that she was told no.

faustine looked at the woman with narrowed eyes, half-wondering if she was up to something. seldom would someone commend that of her family - even if the words were factual - and it made her felt odd. odd in the sense that, perhaps, this woman wanted something from her. a good word for her mother to raise her rank? or perhaps to simply garner favors from her and her family? how pitiful to prostrate herself like this, instead of showing it through action.
yet still, faustine was no more the judge of anything or anyone. she would only do so should her maman wanted her to fit into that role. for now, she may as well make good will with her pride mates. however, @Dysnomia proved to be a strange woman indeed. you can bleed for us faustine said as a wicked grin curled onto her dark face. bleed until you're almost dead and then we'll let you sup on our blood. perhaps then...you can become a dieudonne woman. her eyes flashed with mirth and glee, wishing nothing but to evoke a cold sense of dread and discomfort onto all who so ever wished to interact with her.

@Faustine's look was met with pure curiosity and innocence. For once she wasn't planning anything nefarious. Actually, she didn't typically plan anything nefarious, but it especially wasn't the case here.
Dys stared in return at the response she got, a slow blink her only answer as she processed it. Finally a low chuckle left her and she nodded slightly.

Fair enough,she replied.
Wouldn't expect anything else really. It was an appropriately greedy and nefarious response from the Dieudonne, she thought.
Luckily for me, I've no qualms about bleeding. She did have some qualms about being eaten, mind, but really only if they killed her while she was in her prime like this.
Speaking of, I wonder who will be foolish enough to come for the Bluffs next. She grinned at the prospect of watching some idiot get their face ripped off by Louve or whoever went to face them. Last time it had been Apollinaire so perhaps it would be him again, though personally she wanted to watch the Dieu matriarch defend the pride. There was just something about a man fighting to protect the women-led Bluffs that didn't quite sit right with her.
