Summer
The summer season has finally reached its peak. The sunshine is plentiful, the days are long and the air is hot and humid - but the evenings do not seem to provide the same relief that they once had, and remain somewhat stuffy. Thunderstorms have also began appearing more frequently, particularly in the rainforest and eastern region, though the rain is welcomed after a relatively dry season thus far.

she has no particular reason to be here - but her curiosity of the other prides fuels her to find the borders of the first one she happens upon. which is the plains, lucky them! she strolls along their borders for a time, watching with a keen gaze and taking time to rub up against scent markers and roll in snow some ways off, adding a vague hint of lorien to her roguish coat. a new member, nothing more, she decides as, after about ten minutes, she ambles over the borders with a leisurely gait. her expression is tight around the eyes, lips turned down in a little frown and brows taut over her luminous gaze, looking all the world like a confused new member. where was it, again?she hums to herself, loud enough to be overhead but softly enough that she could be talking just to herself. and that's when the crunchy sound of approaching steps catches her attention. her ears flick up towards @Violarum and then back against her skull, catching the corner of her lip between her fangs to worry at the corner. rather than try to dart away or pretend like she hasn't seem him, she dips her head in a distant greeting and skitters a few steps closer. he is obviously comfortable, at home in the plains, and léo approaches with a wane smile. ah, excuse me!she chirps, her voice pitched higher, softer than she usually speaks. +10 Break a pride law (from the pride page) +10 Infiltrate a pride’s borders by pretending you’re a member +5 Learn something interesting about a pride or family |

ooc officially a lp member but her status hasn't been updated yet!
olympia, for those that didn't know her, loved to people watch. she was the nosy neighbor who often stuck out her neck to listen to every single conversation, the ones who would water her garden when it rained just to know every juicy detail of a drama unfolding. this, this wasn't necessarily something that interested her, only that she wanted to get to know all of her pride mates and find a few commonality between them. she knew from anniston that there was a king above her, but she had never seen his face nor knew his name. could that man be him? he sure looked the part. she had long since caught the scent of the plains on her own pelt, though olympia didn't particularly feel like one of them. not when she had nothing to do but loiter around.
her eyes caught sight of another lion, a lioness with a nice coat of red. she...didn't look like a member. nay, not look but smell. excuse me! she said to the woman. are you new new? you sure don't smell like it. olympia made sure to walk tall and with the confidence of someone who had been here since it was founded. her poise was immaculate as she walked up to the pair. i'm olympia phaetus, by the way. anniston brought me back. she winked. @Violarum @leontine

Violarum
Long and low came a chuff of greeting, swaying his cumbersome way towards towards the stranger in order to come to a halt before her, his expression plainly curious. "Who are you?" he asks, tail twitching idly across the sea of long grass - but it is not merely one new face, but two.
@Olympia soon arrives, and Violarum is a wee bit besotted. She is scruffy but slender, and her height is particularly drawing, dusted about her edges in blushed cream. Most interesting rather were her confidence, and if it weren't for her words the King might have assumed the pair were together - wayward wanderers. "Oh, I'm Violarum Frei," his gaze lingered on her a moment before skimming back to the dark, maned woman, "Did Anniston bring you too?"

@Violarum shifts so that his path intercepts hers. she smiles, demure and apologetic. i am garnet, she says smoothly, dipping her head a little deeper. she might have gone on to explain what she was doing, why she hailed him - but another lioness arrives and inwardly she groans. @Olympia approaches with all the confidence of a leader and léontine roves her bi-colored gaze over the other newcomer, chewing on the edge of her lip in a show of faux nerves. i've been here a night, she admits, ears fluttering back to her skull and tail tip twitching. she offers a rueful sort of smile, glancing sheepishly down and then back up to the large male. he seems taken by the other female and léo has only her practice and self control to thank that she does not smirk and clap her hands together - this would make it easier, she thinks, to beat a hasty retreat. nice to meet you, olympia.she promises, bowing her head and swinging her head to the male. violarum, because eye contact and greetings and names is all very normal behavior, she reminds herself. no,she tells the male, shaking her head and furrowing her brows. she looks a bit anxious, uncertain, and she chuffs a little laugh. i don't.... remember their name, she says, face heating. it's easy to play the role, having honed it over the years: flustered, young, stupid. a large male - dark with a darker mane.she shrugs, tipping her jaw slightly to peer up at him. i was a bit harried upon meeting him.... he was kind enough to bring me here to rest and eat.she flashes a slightly wider grin, teeth carefully hidden behind her dark lips. the wind blows and she shivers, ruffling her thin coat, and huddling a little further into herself, looking pathetic. small. unassuming. i fell asleep and i'm afraid i don't remember... where he said the cache was.she mumbles, again playing the shame-faced young woman. |

olympia remembered that anniston said she was a frei too. oh a frei huh? no wonder you two looked similar olympia said with a grin. she wondered what their relationship was, probably dad and daughter or uncle and niece? it felt odd to pry any further so she turned her attention to the other female of the group. this woman seemed nice enough. olympia'd desire for peace superseded everything else, so she decided not to press on forward with her inquiries. @Violarum seemed like a good man to have around the pride. olympia really did strike a jackpot and lorien plains was lucky enough to have her in return. say, the pride cache is stocked right? i'm itching for some snacks olympia said as she turned to violarum. can you show us where it is? in return i can bless you with some of my sacred water. she vividly remembered her trek to the shore and her plight with digging holes deep enough to store them. they were just water that olympia had blessed -- anyone could do it with the proper chant.

Violarum
She speaks of a male who was dark and large, and aside from himself it was likely only Orson, so he accepts it without too much thought - though the Hunter had never invited anybody before. "Are you staying?" he asks, perhaps more likely to guard his food cache if she were simply passing through - and her words were all fluttery and edgy and confusing, much alike her meek body-language, which may have been out of place for a mature and fit lioness.
Still, he draws back to @Olympia, and finds himself a little happy. Lorien was never meant to be a home for strangers unworthy, but it certainly rubbed him the right way to have two lionesses seeking him out for aid. Perhaps he'd be the King of his teenage dreams after all. "She's my daughter," he offers as a sweeping stride would turn his front-end, obeying the command of these apparent new members with an easy seamlessness.
"Come, I'll feed you," and so would begin the short walk to the cache where it rested within the protection of a large dug-out area against the faintest of slopes.

the other lioness seems just as interested in food and she swallows her grumble, flashing a little smile in return. she makes a point to slowly, but visibly, relax her nervous demeanor, as if comfortable around the two of them as they continue to be kind.
are you staying, @Violarum asks and she glances back at him, a little surprise on her face.
he twists on his haunches, seeming to decide that they would be alright - and she smiles a little brighter, eyes gleaming, looking all the world for a delighted new member. as she skitters after they, she makes a point to yawn widely once or twice, playing up the idea that she is still weary - taking mincing steps as if her paws were still sore. it would give her a viable reason to dine and dash, after all.
EXECUTION FANTASYlikewise, she chuckles, expression softening with a wider smile. she speaks of sacred water and léo's brows rise.
sacred water?she murmurs, as if in awe that someone could just have that. in truth, she's curious - but less than she plays up.
are you staying, @Violarum asks and she glances back at him, a little surprise on her face.
i thought to,she says, voice a little more firm. there's a hint of uncertainty in her gaze as she flicks it between the colossal woman and this frei man.
once i learned more about the pride.a shoulder twitches up in a shrug.
i admit, i'm not used to the idea of being able to leave when it suits me.a flash of teeth, brows tight in lingering sorrow.
too often, we're denied that option.and she gestures vaguely at @Olympia. sure, she might be massive, but léontine knows the ass-backwards rules of amaryllis mean that, more often than not, lionesses are prisoners in their own pride.

olympia was more than happy to allow @Violarum to take charge for now as he led her and garnet to the cache. she was excited about the prospect of having a place to get her food without having to catch it first, 'cause she wasn't picky about where her food came from and how fresh it was. food was food and to have it available was in itself a privilege. so garnet, what's your specialty? she asked. olympia had hoped she could glean more information out of the newest recruit and hoped that garnet truly was the newest. mines is fixing lions up and, uh well you know, cleric stuff.
she gave a brief glance to violarum and tried to conjure anniston's face in her mind. though she knew that they shared similarities, especially now that violarum confirmed their relationship, olympia still couldn't remember that girl's face. actually, olympia couldn't remember the faces of everyone who greeted her in the passage. was she sick or was she just bad at remembering people's faces? ah, well, she could figure that out another time. say, since you're heiress anniston's dad then it means you're super important right? like sovereign important? olympia said after much deliberation. the man seemed friendly enough to answer that.

Truthfully, he wasn't really sure he should be feeding a mere stranger who wasn't sure if she was staying. But, if @Orson had truly invited her, he figured the kid knew enough to make the call - and as time eases on, Vio can let himself feel as though the generosity was entirely his idea.
"I will need fixing up," he says in blatant reaction to her mention of being good at fixing, "Big fights make big holes." True, Calypso usually gave him a hand, but he would never say no to a bit of fuss from a pretty and peachy lioness. Soon enough, somebody would come for something, and he would bleed. "I'm a good King," Violarum reveals, coming to stand in front of the recently stocked cache, host to buffalo and oryx parts. It was a reference to Garnet's mention of him allowing her to leave, but also in response to Olympia's question - in which he glances across to her with a nod - "Most important."
"Food," and there it was. He would watch them, shamelessly finding some degree of pride in being lord and conqueror of these lands the food which would line their little womanly bellies. If only he had a throne upon which to sit.
