The sun had begun to set upon the land of Amaryllis as another day drew to a close. It had been rather uneventful, with a few hunting trips and patrols. He'd not come across anything of note, but instead as the day went on, the Rike seemed to grow in agitation. He hated days that were not in the slightest bit productive, or those days when he did not have much interaction with those outside of his head.

Descending into the stomach of the Pit, where the scent of blood still lingered on the wind, Markus came to a halt. The deep orange glow seemed to swallow the arena as the sun continued to set. With a shake of his mane, the colossal male awaited an opponent to join him.

He had wandered from the shores of home out into the landscape of Amaryllis to clear his head. Having been struck with so much grief as of late he was doing his best to keep it bottled up. In the end it wasn’t doing him any good and instead the stone faced lion was becoming frustrated. Going hunting and killing things to bring back home to eat only helped so much but being a fighter from birth he was wanting to get a good fight in. Before he would have went to his best bro but Keligan hadn’t been around much and had his own issues. His own life to deal with. Dagge knew he couldn’t really rely on the blue mane’d man when he wanted to scrape with someone.

Therefore he made his way to the pit. Reaching it by sundown he scanned the hole and spotted someone waiting. Eyes narrowing he made his way down. Coming towards the stranger from straight ahead he pinned his ears. "Waiting for someone in particular?" He questioned as he tucked his chin to his throat and bent his knees stopping a good sprint away but close enough to talk. He wanted yo make sure he wasn’t interrupting a party already planned.

As the sun continued to set upon Amaryllis, the distinct and burning glow of orange seemed to burn into the pit. It discoloured the stains of blood and along with it Markus' pelt, but it did not matter. The disappearance of the sun entailed only one thing: a shroud of darkness, Markus could use to his advantage. The colossal male seemed to thrive in the darkness, much like the rest of his family.

Mismatched eyes spot the figure of @Dagge on the edge of the Pit before he descends into its stomach. He waits patiently for the male to join him, subconsciously studying his figure. Dagge stops just short of the colossal male, and his lips quiver upward at his question as he shakes his head. The tucking of his chin and the bending of his knees did not go unnoticed. Nein. Markus confirms, flexing his claws in and out of the compacted earth beneath before lunging into action.

Markus tucks in his chin and rolls forward his shoulders as he proceeds into a short run, closing the distance between him and the Lagoon male. The behemoth attempts to lunge forward with his left shoulder, attempting to shove it hard into the central chest cavity. Simultaneously, Markus' right paw rises from the ground and with claws forced outwards, he attempts to force his claws into Dagge's left flank, attempting to pierce the flesh there and gain purchase.

Not all fights have to be about practice but not all training sessions had to be done gently either. Though he would have been gentle with pride mates or allies he wasn’t so sure what pride this made before him hailed from. Yet it mattered not as the larger lion made the first move and didn’t seem to inclined to hold back as he came barreling forward. Moving forward himself he too helped close the gap but he only made it like a few steps forward before he felt a shoulder being pushed into the center of his chest. Snarling as the wind was knocked out of him. Already he could feel a bruise forming. Trying to catch his breath he wasn’t fast enough to evade the claws that grabbed onto his left hip. Feeling the discomfort of the warm liquid that dripped from his new wound he attempted to retaliate by trying to twist his body and swing his right paw at the side of the dark lion’s neck. Claws out as well he tried to get some mane and pull it out at the very least.

The distance between the pair does not take long to close. Markus' left shoulder makes contact with Dagge's central chest cavity, and for a moment the male feels his shoulder bone vibrate with the blunt force of bone hitting bone. Whilst the wind is removed from Dagge's chest, a bruise will form underneath Markus' merle coat. Small mercies.

His right paw also makes contact with the brute's hip, and Markus attempts to make further damage to his coat by attempting to force his paw towards himself and downward, hoping to rip open the flesh. There is little that Markus can do to prevent Dagge's right paw swinging at his neck. His claws make easy purchase against his well-grown mane and pull out some of the fur easily.

A low rumble erupts from Markus' chest, but nothing too threatening as he parts his jaws and lunges forwards, attempting to grab hold of Dagge's muzzle with his own teeth, attempting to clamp his jaw shut with his own teeth.

With his claws finding some of the thick mane of the dark lion he was glad but it didn’t show as he felt Markus’ claw dig across his skin and he snarled. If that was the game he wanted to play so be it. Feeling the adrenaline flow thought him he attempted to move his head quickly forward trying to bang his head upwards. Attempting to headbutt the dark male in the mouth even as he felt fangs rake across the top of his head. Shifting his back paws his claws dug into the earth trying to keep his balance even with he headache he had now forming. Rather or not he had just gifted the larger man his head didn’t matter he was just trying to release some frustration.

the earth surrounding the dusty arena is surprisingly fertile. the limestone has still found a way to nurture despite the violence that occurs within. the pit brings her little comfort with how it reeks of blood and gore, but it brings her some sense of purpose to serve those who are bold enough to battle and raze the pit with their bravery.

imogen notices the two lions already scrapping. the guttural sounds that echo throughout cause her ears to snap back against her head. her nose crinkles and she averts her eyes, dropping the few herbs she's collected. imogen looks down at her paws, then back up again, awaiting the moment they would leech away from one another to offer what little she could.

For the Rike, it was good exercise to stretch his limbs in the art of battle. Regardless of whether the fight was serious, or just two grown men releasing their frustrations, it still felt good to draw blood on his claws.

His jaws part and, as his fangs are bared, they make contact with Dagge's head. The male shoves his head upwards to headbutt Markus, which results in blunt force hitting his teeth. The pain surges upwards into his head, forming a headache, but the male knew it would only be temporary. Markus' fangs, as a result of the headbutt, make contact with Dagge's forehead and make lacerations. Markus withdraws his jaw, pulling his head backwards momentarily, before attempting another attack.

This time, Markus attempts to raise both of his paws, shifting his weight onto his back legs, and with the use of his colossal weight and momentum, the Rike man attempts to lunge forward against Dagge's full form, attempting to force both of his paws into either shoulder of the male, attempting to find purchase with outstretched claws.

Perhaps it was just the mindset difference on how they had been raised. Dagge didn’t get any satisfaction from making someone bleed during training. Putting a stuck up prick in their place yes, but as far as this fight went he didn’t know the dark man enough to know if he was a prick or not.

Eyes squinting harder as blood dripped down his face from the marks left behind by the larger lion. His head hurt and body stung he didn’t need blood in his eyes blinding him even temporarily. Stepping backwards he shook his head flinging some droplets of blood from his coat before he felt paws wrapping around him and claw dig into his already scarred shoulders. Letting out as snarl he attempted to push against the larger male. He could feel the heavier weight coming down against him but still he tried to find hold himself and attempted to grab at Markus’s front armpits with his claws.
