The colossal sized cub stood within the entrance of the Chambers. His head is tilted back as he stares up at the birds nesting within the cracks. He could hear them up there. He could see them up there every time they shifted positions. But what he couldn't figure out, yet at least, was how to get to them.

The child tried leaping up towards the birds but there was no way that he could get the height enough to get them that way. And his claws didn't give him traction enough to climb the rocky walls either. His stomach grumbled at him that he wasn't figuring out this particular dilemma quick enough.

"Get in my belly!" He yelled up at the birds as if that would manage to do any good at all. Of course it didn't, but his voice did echo around the chamber. That was interesting and the boy found himself letting out a series of noises just to hear the way they echoed around the rocky room that he was in.

And then a bird chirped and brought his attention back to his problem once more. The boy picked up a rock to try to toss up at the birds to try to scare them down. But then the rock caught the beam and sunlight and started to sparkle instead. Ooo... what was that?

The cub tilted his head this way and that to examine the glittery rock being held between his teeth.

He felt drained. Between Cassandra's fight to defend their home and Cordi's illness there was an immense weight of helplessness that Aquila was being suffocated by. Even despite the victory Cassandra earned it shouldn't have had to happen to at. He should have been able to stop it... If he could he'd make sure that brute never got the chance to try again. But how much did it matter? All he did, all his chest thumping and blood letting was nothing to the claws that had wrapped around his daughter.

So lost in thought was he that he practically tripped over the large cub before seeing Chunk. Oh.. Hey sorry little one. It was like he came out of a tunnel, he could see the surroundings he'd been wandering through and he could hear the echos of the cave again instead of just his own heartbeat in his ears.

The boy was busy twisting his head this way and that to cause the rock in his mouth to continue to catch the light and sparkle. The shine of it really was intriguing to the child. How could it not be? He had never seen a sparkle rock before.

But then he was distracted from this inspection by the presence of another. This gave him the perfect opportunity to show off his shine rock! "Look!" He mumbled out the words around the rock in his mouth. He continued to tilt his head back and forth to show off the way that it sparkled whenever the light of the sun would hit it. It really was an amazing find and Chunk was quite proud of it.

Fortunately it did not seem like he's startled the kid at all or ruined any joy he was finding in the moment with his strange toy. Aquila's silver eyes narrow a bit on the shimmers, interest piquing. Oh... He mumbled a bit, half confused at what he was looking at and half feeling distant. Mentally he'd been overwhelmed, brain moving too fast, it did not comprehend well slow down and enjoy the shiny rock. That's pretty neat, you find that around here? He asks and then glances around to the walls beyond, streaks of stone paint wide swaths of color over which his lights danced. Subtly Aquila began to keep an eye and ear out for any concerned parents coming around.

Chunk beamed proudly when he was told that his shine rock was neat. Of course it was. How could it not be? Chunk was the best finder and collector of shinies. At least if you asked the boy that is what he would determine. But then what child didn't think themselves the best at whatever it was that they were doing?

The child nodded his head when he was asked if he found the rock around here. He dropped the rock and placed a paw on it to keep his claim on it. "Lots of rocks here. Lots of birds too." He said and stared longingly up at where the birds roosted. "Birds should be in my tummy." He stated and his stomach gave an agreeing grumble.

Aquila's silver eyes followed along where Chunk was looking until he too was watching the fluttering wings and hearing the ruffling of feathers more clearly in the background. All to be interrupted by the sound of the young Chunk's rumbling gut.You want some food? Aquila asks while looking at Chunk out of the corner of his eye. The big bronze lion didn't think he could take down much but surely a few birds would be manageable? If he could manage to launch himself up towards their nests and where they flew around at least... getting himself off the ground was going to be a bit of a problem or good show for Chunk._{ART — CODE}

The boy nodded his head when he was asked if he wanted food. He had already tried to get them for himself but that hadn't exactly worked out according to plan. He simply couldn't get up there were the birds were and none of them darted low enough to the ground for him to even attempt to catch. But the adult was much taller than him, certainly he could reach the birds.

"Get bird now?" Though the words were meant to be posed as a question they came out as more of a demand instead. But then what child wasn't demanding in their own way?

Alright kid. Hold on. He said, promptly agreeing to help Chunk get himself a meal. No idea how he was going to manage snagging the flighty and quick creatures.... but it would have been impossible to say no. And he didn't want to in the first place.

Aquila moved a little ways away from Chunk and set his eyes firmly on some of the birds nesting up overhead, watching for one that looked like it was going to head out of its nest soon enough and take a dive down. Muscles in his leg twitched, ready and waiting...

A bird stood on the nest edge. One. Two... THREE! He swung out with a large paw, trying to knock the bird square out of the sky and into the nearby wall. His wrist quickly snapped out and moments later there was a dark shape thudding against the wall, falling to the floor stunned is one particularly roughed up looking bird._{ART — CODE}

Chunk wiggled in eager anticipation as the adult agreed to get him a bird. Chunk had no doubt that the male would be able to achieve this. How could he not when he was bigger than he was. Adults could do everything after all.

This ended up being proven the absolute truth when Aquila smacked a bird out of the air. The oversized boy was quick to follow up and pounce upon the stunned avian creature. "Got you!" The boy cried out cheerfully as he pinned the bird beneath his oversized paws. Of course he couldn't help but look up at Aquila with the expectation of praise for a job well done.

Sure, the adult had knocked the bird out of the sky but it had been the child to secure it and keep it from getting up again.

He nodded. Yep. Got one. “There you go kid, enjoy.” He said with a chuckle. Where he stood Aquila settled down and sat himself comfortably upon the ground. He wasn’t particularly interested in trying to get any of the bird scraps himself to eat. There just wasn’t enough. But there was still the question of why this kid was here, where his parents were, that seemed to need answered. No one had come along in response to the noises of voices, there wasn’t any particularly fresh scent of someone other than him or @Chunk either. For the immediate future Aquila would hang around, try to figure out what to do and give the kid a body guard while he ate and had his fun with the bird._{ART — CODE}
