Ever since his encounter with Erevu at Caladan's borders, the prince has taken more of a shine to such duties, making a round or so every couple of days when he finds himself without a more pressing matter to attend to. Not that there's... usually any pressing matters for him to attend to, but regardless.

He seems proud of himself as he makes his way back from such an outing with a single crane feather sticking out of his mouth. He's holding its end carefully between his teeth, such that the grey and yellow plume is undamaged - it's a gift after all, for whomever he runs into first en route to the den he shares with the rest of his family. While he lacks the motivation to curate such a collection, the desire to do so is prevalent in the Khulani clan; someone will surely appreciate it.

Reed had been very proud of the crane feather she had found. It was, in her very correct opinion, cool. She had set it upon a pile of very cool sticks, and had left it there waiting. She had spotted a potentially interesting rock that required her attention, so had left her new treasures. She had planned to bring her newly acquired treasure hoard back to her den, but upon return, her feather had disappeared!!

STOLEN!

The scent of the nasty thief hung all over her pile of sticks. They hadn't long been here! Reed stuck her nose in the air, gasping in the smell of the dirty criminal. That way! Her paws thudded into the ground as she pursued her quarry. In truth, it mattered little to her who had her feather. Only that she got it back.

It didn't take long for the ginger to catch up to the burglar. Maybe she would have found it far less enraging if it had been an adult. But Reed really didn't like mini-lions. It was even worse when said mini-lion had her feather in his mouth. She let out a strange screech, rushing a 'BAD. MINE' flail with her paws before doing the most just thing she could thing of.

Reaching out and smack the kid on the head. Paw up, straight back down. A quick fire swat. It'll serve him right. Stealing the feather that had so clearly been waiting for her.

... Was that a bird?

The screech catches the boy so by surprise that he halts mid-step and whips around to the direction he came from, finding himself face-to-face with the pale ginger lioness that was fishing with them before.

She seems angry, but all he can do is stand there suspended in confusion before a forepaw slams down heavily on top of his skull. His teeth click before his jaw slackens with the sudden force, and the feather goes fluttering down to the sand.

"Ow! What was that for!?" He recoils from the woman, pressing down on the tender spot where her paw had been with one of his own in an effort to dull the pain, teeth clenched together as he glares at her for an explanation.

She smacked him! Unprovoked!

Reed hit her mark, and the feather fluttered to the floor. She took a step forward, casting her paw out and aiming to push the young boy backwards with a grumble. Mine! She signed, chattering her teeth. Face kept a hard scowl as she bent down to try and pick up the feather.

Man. Kids really did suck. She wasn't quite sure why the tiny lions just sprung up everywhere like weeds. Where ever they did come from, they were nasty little things. Stealing her stuff, being annoying on trips. Nasty, nasty little things

Jyzara hadnt been keeping a close eye on reed... but having healed up and realizing she hadnt worked with the girl on her behavior issues lately she sought her out.. in time to watch her sign bad. mine. And smacking one of Jewels cubs. Her ears flattened and she reached out and attempted to give Reed a quick scuff to the back of her head with her right paw. Then signed. Enough. Then with a new motion and words that she wanted to work on. "be nice Reed" she said slowly, and made a small smaking motion with a head shake. Hoping it translated.

"What seems to have happened?" she asked the young cub with a look to reed.

She signs something at him and chatters her teeth, which only further frustrates him - especially when she moves to pick the feather up, which has the boy jerking forward just slightly to stop her before he realizes the futility halfway through. "Hey!" Instead, he plants a paw where the feather had been, scowling back at Reed and lashing his split tail through the air behind him.

Jyzara arrives, swinging a paw at the back of the ginger woman's head and signing something else at her. The prince is ignorant to the way they're communicating, but he pulls back on his display and lets his expression relax a little, his eyes flickering between them before they rest on the gold lioness asking him what's going on. "No idea... she came up behind me and hit me in the head, then took the feather I found," Maybe now that there was an adult involved that seemed to be able to talk to Reed, he'd be able to get an explanation.

The ginger pulled back, the feather now held within her her mouth. Her face had softened just a little. After all, she did have her feather back. But that brief moment of an easing of her mood was soured once again when a paw scruffed the back of her neck. It didn't really hurt, in truth, but she still let out a yelp. She swung around just in time to see Jyzara sign enough. It brought out a hiss, tail lashing as she scuttled a few steps away. Go away. She signed, shooing the gold woman away.
