TASK: Participate in a hunt using the rolled hunt system.


The times where he could send for his meals, courtesy of the servants in his family's employment, were long gone. Such pandering had made Ebrahim lazy to a fault, and while the man had improved slightly since those fondly-remembered, bygone days... well, he was no expert. The only thing he had on his side, really, was the sheer scale of him; there was no tact there, no expertise, just a handful of common sense and a whole ton of praying. And, in fairness, he hadn't starved yet. He certainly wasn't the type to scavenge, either - the Azar would rather die of starvation than do that. So, with a heavy heart, he had come to the realisation that this whole 'doing things for himself thing' was going to be a lot more permanent than he ever could've imagined.

And that would start with keeping himself well-fed.

There was nothing like nowhere to get lost in. Or so she would say if she was the sort to say platitudes to herself or do anything other than grumble intermittently as she scurried along the edges of the badlands. Walpurgis was very obviously lost, and moderately hostile about it. Her fur was greasy, of course, her ebon-tipped mane further whirled into matts of discontent, and the end of her tail given to bouts of swatting between ankles with enough fury to leave a slight bruise come tomorrow. Lost, yes. Focused... maybe. She was following some tracks, nice big lion ones, and this took her attention for the time. She kept switching her gaze down and up, squinting to try to see better, eventually! coming upon the sight of a lion who had probably made these tracks. Maybe he knew how to get unlost. Or if he didn't, maybe he knew how to get lost. Because if he wasn't going to help she was gonna be pissed about it.

She straightened and swaggered up, all very merry but with a telltale dip of her head and a sparkle in her eye saying she was sizing him up and very obviously. Not like she knew how to do anything more or less obviously. She just did things. What she noticed of him was what she had been taught to notice. Size and scars meant everything. He was a big guy but not so strongly coated as she was, and he looked like he'd taken a step out of the cub den and never moved from there because he had the baby face of someone who'd never seen combat. HAH. She decided he was not match for her. Therefore, someone she should dominate, someone who she must see if he would follow her orders. She seldom got the chance to be in charge OK. She was gonna try.

So. Swaggering up, an echoing chuff of greeting, seeming always out of place, yet her split gaze fixed on him intently. "Hey. You. Wut ya doing out here? Ya wanna hunt... or fight... or ya a big cub, huh?" Whopper had better fighting words than this if she was really angry but she was just kinda instigating him for now, seeing if he would take her as a threat or (hopefully) worship beneath her mighty paw. There might be room between all the squished bugs and dirt for a baby-faced lion such as himself.

The scarred lion had yet to find a place to settle. That didn't mean that hunger was kept at bay. He still had to eat even if he hadn't a pride to help out with this venture. He supposed he could have roused Axel to go out with him but it was enough that the other male had left everything behind in order to travel with him. So he supposed he could get the food and bring it back.

Now the best spots for hunting, he still hadn't learned that. But then he hadn't learned much about this new land either. That made Jaeger prone to wandering. The male would pause every so often in order to sniff at the wind or to bend his head near to the earth in order to seek out some sort of trail.

Eventually he came across a couple of other lions hanging about. He wasn't certain what all was going on or why they were just standing about. "What is so interesting about this spot?" He asked as he moved over to join the other two whom were standing about.

She broke her gaze to eye up yet another male. Stranger. Another lion to prove her strength to. He approached without any signs of being an enemy but she eyed him carefully just in case. Reluctantly she broke her gaze to look around over the landscape because what was going on, really? She seldom had an answer but today she did. "Buffalo!" she yipped, bouncing on her tarnished white toes. "We eat em!" Yeah! She darted off running hellbore toward the prey, which of course saw her coming and shambled off without presenting more than the thickest part of their pelts and sone of their horns. "Ow!" she protested as she backed off nuzzling a bruise pn her shoulder.

OOC NOTE: I'll post now then as the order seems to have changed... I've confirmed with senior staff and we get another attempt, which is good! So I'll see if more people join us before requesting another roll.


TASK ATTEMPT 2: Participate in a hunt using the rolled hunt system.


The maroon woman that approached would earn little more than a reproachful glance and a curl of the lip. She was an odd, bulky creature; rather ugly by his tastes. He tensed considerably at her words, tail lashing out at his heels in agitation. "Hunting, if you must know." Whether or not her presence would be helpful, Ebrahim found Walpurgis' presence - in many regards - rather offensive. And so, when another lion approached - a male this time - the white-pelted rogue shifted his attention gratefully. "I-," and then a sudden burst of movement would stop him in his tracks, halting him from saying any more.

What. The. Fuck.

The lioness, who clearly had lost some - if not all - of her mental faculties, had decided now was the perfect time to charge over to the nearest herd she could find. A group of buffalo, that had drifted into view in the time that the trio had been occupied with each other, were sent scattering by the lumbering attempts of @Walpurgis. The annoyance evident in his face, he would shoot a glance at @Jaeger before shaking his head. "I'm going to move along. You're free to join - the more paws we have the better our chances." The invitation wasn't necessarily aimed at the maroon lioness - that is, if she'd come back close enough to hear the exchange - but, like it or not, they'd probably be in a better position if she stayed nearby. They could probably make use of her bulk.

OOC: Since post order is already fudged Imma go on and post Jaeger here and then everyone will have had a post this round before the re-attempt

Jaeger only had a moment to ponder the answer he was given before the lioness had taken off after said buffalo. "So much for the eating part." The comment was tossed out offhandedly to the other male that had lingered behind with him to watch the lioness take off on her own. That was not how a hunt went. One didn't run off on their own, especially with prey that large. He would have thought the lioness old enough to no longer harbor the overeagerness of a cub. As that was what her attempt at hunting reminded him of.

A glance was given over to the other lion when the male spoke up. "Are you also about to run after the first thing you see?" There was a playfulness to his tone to show that he was teasing and not that he really thought the other about to make some sort of haphazard attempt.

"Suppose we should look to see if there is something else about that doesn't know that we are already here." Because they weren't likely to get anything here now that the prey were put on high alert. "Jaeger Geist, and you are?"

She didn't know where she was, she'd never been here before. The fog had receded some time ago, but the girl had been, unfortunately, otherwise occupied. But what time like the present to make a trip out here today?
As she moseyed across the hard, cracked earth, the sun glaring down from on high through a rare break in the clouds, she happened to notice three figures on the horizon. Changing direction, Amra opted to head toward them; maybe they'd become new friends. She didn't usually approach groups, preferring individuals as they were less worrying, but you never knew!
As she got closer, one of the individuals took off after a buffalo, earning herself a bruise and effectively scaring off the remainder of the herd. Now, Amra was no expert in her trade, but surely if the trio was attempting to hunt, one more able body wouldn't go amiss.
"yo!" She warbled as she finally reached them, offering a large grin all round despite the frowns and glares aimed at the nonsensical woman. "need a hand?" She added, grin remaining as services were offered. More practice never hurt, and having a feed at the end was just a bonus.

"So much for the eating part. Are you also going to run after the first thing you see?" Ebrahim rolled his eyes, brows knitting together. "No - I like to think I have more sense than that." Unlike some.... At the offer of an introduction, the Azar male would dip his head ever so slightly in acknowledgement, eyes still trained on the horizon. He would catch sight of a pair of Duiker meandering, and he is almost too distracted watching them to clock the arrival of @Amra or to give @Jaeger an introduction in return. It is only once he took a few step forwards, posture low, that he would suddenly remember himself. "Ebrahim Azar." He would extend, to both the dark scarred male and the pale girl - if she cared. She seemed as keen as the rest of them to be involved, and so.... "We would be much obliged." There would be something in it for her, after all, just as there would be something in it for all of them. And so they would move in.

Minutes later, with his muzzle drenched in blood, he would turn to the rest of the party. "It's been a pleasure," Ebrahim drawled, keeping his tone minimally facetious - after all, despite being a bit of an ass he did owe them some level of gratitude (even the annoyingly manic maroon pelted one). Snagging half of one of the Duiker with a forceful bite and ripping motion, he would offer a nod of farewell before hauling his prize away. Blessedly, he is not far from home; it would be nice to enjoy the spoils of his hard work in the comfort of his own den, and so that is exactly what he planned on doing.
