She would be the first to fess up to the fact that she's not a particularly experienced hunter. With the cubs growing up quickly and her father having his paws so full, Tosca wanted to step up more to help the family. After all, three young children were a big responsibility even if Israel and Tessa had each other - and Tosca, in her limited capacity as big sister - to rely on for assistance. And, as every day passed, the young woman felt more and more of a need to improve on herself and her limited skillset. And so, here she was, seeking to do just that. And if she managed to fill her belly a little at the same time? Well, all the better. She doubted highly she'd bring anything down worth taking home for the rest of the family; she'd be lucky to get a rabbit, honestly, unless other hungry but cooperative folk converged on her position with a similar plan in mind. But, even so, experience was experience. Staring out at the dunes, scanning the horizon hopefully, she young woman lets out a sharp exhale. Where to begin?

Sand. Sand, everywhere. Between her toes. It wasn't the most agreeable of places, but Camelia went where the wind would take her. She'd no mind to be elsewhere, paid no heed to the urging of etiquette or what some may call a more sensible path of logic. Instead, she did as youth were in want to do: and that is, pretty much whatever they want. That day, she decided to stalk the lone figure yards ahead. She had developed a habit for finding those of her own age, with varying degrees of entertainment. Certainly, this too, would have potential. Food. Laughs. Maybe a blooming migraine for the poor sod she decided to attach herself to. @Tosca's exhale felt like a promising start. She sidled up, breaking the distance with a hastened pace. Pausing only when they stood shoulder to shoulder, or near about. Hi. She chirped, taking her in cautiously. Though, there hung something familiar. But, for the sake of fun, that could wait. Feelin' hungry?

The task seemed far less daunting with someone else on the scene; as @Camelia drew up alongside her, Tosca turned to greet the other yearling with a smile and head dip. "Yes," the brunette responded in earnest, wrinkling her nose slightly at the sudden growl of her tummy that followed. "Very." With a little eyeroll she laughed it off, turning her head to focus back on the horizon. Where did two kids like them even start? They were out of their depths, more than likely - the Addax that appeared in the distance caught her attention quickly, but, as if to taunt them, the beast spotted them long before the girl even had a chance to take a step. It moved swiftly back the way it came, and Tosca pouted. Damn it. It would've been a long shot anyway, and knowing her luck she probably would've got gored on one of its long spindly horns. Pink gaze cast back over at Camelia, wondering if she'd had a chance to spot the missed dinner potential. "I wonder if we'll find anything along here that's a bit more.... uh..... realistic." Let's not run before we can walk, eh?

We're so smooth, ain't we? exasperation unpeeled the words, a loose and heavy groan of disappointment as it scattered to the winds. So much for that idea. She grumped, watching it lope off. Watching it for a moment longer nodding in agreement.

We could just continue to reach for the stars. Half-serious, but mostly glib. The pout curled her lip outwards, considering their options. They could go in search of other prey or call it a day and find something fun to do. These were trying times and truth be told Camelia just wasn't quite ready to call it a night. Jus' how hungry are ya?

And then, she hit @Tosca with that grin. Goading, firm.

It's clear from the expression on her face that Tosca is unimpressed by the way that things had gone south so very quickly. And yet, with @Camelia around, it was difficult to stay in a sulk. Near on impossible, in fact. With a sigh and a grin, she would cast a glance over at the smaller yearling. "I'm hungry enough to try anything. Apart from an elephant. Or a hippo." In fact, the more she thought about it, the longer the list of 'no-no's' got. Fearing that her intrepid pal would not have quite the same reservations as she did, Tosca could only hope that the next opportunity they spotted was something a little more in their league. Motioning with a gesture of the head, the brunette would encourage the other girl to move along with her; she'd plan to keep tight to the treeline, posture low and attention keenly trained on the slopes.
