Of course, the main reason they’d gone home was for Pistis to help soothe some of Gwyn’s wounds. But she felt as if she needed to get some things off her chest. Scurrying around, she nodded for him to walk into their den. She scampered off to her herb nook. Scanning the shelves to figure out what she needed. Grabbing some frankincense, she came back hurriedly to their den. Setting the herbs down as she came near him to examine the wounds upon him. Most of them were just small, shallow wounds. Nothing serious, just as she suspected. “These herbs may make you a bit drowsy, but they’ll prevent infection and may help with any soreness.” She seemed a bit cold, distant. Worried Gwyn was angry at her for that look she’d given him. Granted... it had been a bit premature. It had turned out Gwyn was not the one who overreacted, but that cub’s parents.

There is an obvious difference when he crosses the threshold from public to private. The man who had held his spine straight, his gait steady, his pride bared like a shield let it all drop. He let himself limp in, head drooping down. His adrenaline had truly exhausted itself halfway through the journey so now he finally let it crash. Only for her, and any others he claimed for his alone. The man settled in the middle of the sand and pelts that made their haphazard nest and watched her scurry back and forth. Here he could rest properly.

Except they had things to discuss. At first he had thought they could wait until he was patched up, could nap, could celebrate his victory, as bittersweet as it had been, in his traditional manner. However the tones of her voice told him that she couldn't wait for him and he wasn't happy per say to stay coherent for her, but willing. "Then I may wait to take them. Something's the matter." he states, shifting to his left side so she could cuddle close as they talked. If she even wanted to after that look.

The man softened and laid upon their pelts. Pistis approaching to apply and let him chew some of the frankincense, but Gwyn asked to wait. Grumpily she placed the herbs down on a small grooved shelf. Figured, a patient telling her what to do. At least this one was her husband. A few shells or smaller animal skulls making up their collection. The herbs sat between the collections, and she turned back. Crawling into his arms, but not tucking away as she normally did, wanting to see his face. “I guess I’ll start, then.” She looked hesitant. Chest tightening, somewhat anxiously. She looked into his balefire eyes as she spoke, though. A luxury she couldn’t afford to others when she was nervous.

“I think... I think-“ she huffed, trying to pull herself together, “I know this probably isn’t what you want to discuss. But I thought it was necessary to. I’m starting to develop feelings for Dia.” She stopped, watching his face closely to dissect his reaction. “It may just be a passing fancy, but I knew you needed to know.” She glanced away then, “I’m not even sure what I’m feeling for her, I’m not the type to take after someone quickly, you know that.” They’d had a moment, yes. One where she’d thought, perhaps, if she were more brave, she might have kissed Dia. But... she’d backed away. Yet she’d shared with Dia one thing she’d only shared with Gwyn, even if it wasn’t detailed. The fact she’d been abused in the past. She wasn’t sure why she had, either. She could have lied and explained her scars were from battle, if she wanted. Or said she’d had an infection that ended badly and she’d had to been bled out. Thousands of excuses could have been used. Yet she’d chosen to be truthful about the most painful experiences of her life.

Her grouchiness won her a small smile on his part. Something he only offered in private. "I would fall asleep if I ate them now" he chides, teases lightly his form instinctively curling more around her as she tucked in. Even if she wasn't as close as usual, he would fix that problem. Her place was in his arms, or beneath him, or acting as support in a negotiation, or tempering him with her spirit; he wouldn't allow her to hold herself apart. She was his, and she need not be nervous around him.

He blinks, mild surprise on his face. "Huh" he comments, pondering the tiny woman and his wife together. Perhaps he should tell her that he rolled in the hay with her a could times. Perhaps not. "It's fine so long as you don't spend all your time with her over me. Take your time and know you are always mine if it doesn't work out." he says finally, deciding to ignore the fact that she was very much a current fling of his. Pistis would know that, in part, his statement that all unattached women were his would lead to the occasional banging of said women. It wouldn't or shouldn't be a problem, but she was fragile at the moment. He then leans forward to place a sloppy, affectionate kiss on her crown. To make sure she knows who she belongs to and that she was being a little silly.

Still he had questions for her, so he draws back to watch her as he asks his own question. "Why did you look at me so? They had been admonishing Zagan for trying to protect their idiot child" he queries. Curious, slightly hurt, and unsure if she got the full story since she had been across the way.

The reaction was mild. Actually. Pistis felt a bit of relief. Of course, she knew Gwyn had no problem for her attraction to women... it still felt good when someone was accepting. Not that she expected her husband to be rude or look at her differently. It was just nice, reassuring. She nodded, leaning into his kiss. The silver woman knew that she’d always have the behemoth, as long as she didn’t stray away. Though she was mostly unawares that Dia was a fling of his, she couldn’t say that would bother her. Pistis didn’t exactly feel anything sexual for the woman, yet. It was mostly romantic attraction. As it would always take her longer than most to lay with someone. As was her nature.

At his question, she shook her head slightly, “I understand your position now, but in the moment? I was just worried about our son and their child. I did not want us to cause rifts between families just because a child was being idiotic. But both of his parents were out of line. They didn’t think anything through. I just... wish you wouldn’t have threatened a cub.” That’s what the boy had been, after all, still a cub years away from being a man. Her blood still boiled about those parents. All the Casimir had done was advised their child against being hurt. “That man learned his lesson, hopefully, if someone is offering your child help, you shouldn’t well attack them. There was no thought at all put to it, only violence.” Though Gwyn had a darker, battle-hungry side, he didn’t fight without reason. Whether the reason was right or wrong wasn’t up to her, either.

His attraction, as she well knew, was intensely sexual, but he cared for her as well so he supposed it was romantic as well. As it was so long as he wasn't neglected and the person she slept with or dated was not male, he didn't much care. As long it was only his seed she carried, his arms that she fell asleep between, his body she rested beneath when he pleasured them both he was fine. He hummed his approval at her leaning into his kiss, glad that wasn't the issue here.

However the man bristled slightly at her next words. "I never threatened the boy. Simply told the truth. If he continued to behave as he was, he did, he would end up dead. I did threaten the mother when it was clear they were too foolish to listen" he corrected, voice sharp but the man kept all irritation, anger from it. Still thinking about her even if he was upset, hurt a little. "Yes, I don't start things but I will finish them" he added a moment later, his voice much softer. He sighs at her and eyes the herbs on the shelf. "I'm lucky to have ensnared you." he observes, looking back at her. Giving her a small smile a touch of lust in his gaze but not enough to act on. At least until he napped. "Anything else before those herbs knock me out?" he queries. The more the unlikely pair got to know each other, the more he opened up and she did as well. It would have been strange earlier to talk as they were now.

Pistis nodded, a bit of clarity and context put to his words. “I thought you had meant by your paw, but you meant it in a more cautionary way.” She explained, her voice calm, more mellow and involved then it had been at first. Nodding at his next statements. It was fair enough, many did such a thing. If Pistis could talk others out of violence, she tried. But once their mind was made up, there was no point. She chuckled at his comment, “ensnared? I’m not some common prey.” Pistis observed, voice a bit sassy. He seemed a bit tired anyways, so the herbs would only help. “No... I think that is all for tonight. I feel better now.” She moved from his grasp, grabbing at the herbs and laying them at his side. “The effects won’t be immediate, but you already look close to passing out.” She giggled, moving back into his arms as she lays her head on his chest, preparing herself to sleep. Sending a quick prayer to Hypnos for a restful night of slumber.

He nods, regarding her fondly; now that they understood, it was all sorted. At her sass his skull bowed to nip at her ear, his limbs pulling her closer. "I've trapped you and I am never letting you go" he promised, a little bit of heat there. But again, not enough to act on. Simply a premonition of what was to come. She pulled away, a loss he felt acutely while she was gone, tired eyes burning and watching his wife as she moved. Mmmm he loved watching her. She returned and he pulled her close once more, a happy little rumble escaping him as he moved only just enough to reach the herbs and swallow them down. "I am, but we'll celebrate once I have rested" he promised, muzzle dipping towards her skull after eating his medicine. Gently drawing his teeth across her forehead. With him, slumber was rarely ever completely restful. He rather enjoyed a bit of exercise before bed, or in this case, after a nap. "Mmm as nice as it is to have you all to myself, I think I may have to look for another wife soon. To give you the break you will need when you are further along" he mused, his tones tinged with sleep. Muttering into her forehead because his entire form is wrapped protectively, possessively around her. Engulfing her in his dark greedy embrace.

There was his possessiveness again. Though she was quite used to it now. He swallowed the herbs easily, promising a treat after his nap. She grinned a bit. Sure, why not. She had no complaints tonight. Knowing they’d not be able to keep up their nightly routine for much longer. Plus it was an important part of their relationship, especially for her husband. But at his muttering tones, her chest seized, glad her face was hidden in his mane. Other wives... made her nervous. Terrified, even. Yes it was true he was possessive, but she was as well. Less so. What if the other women were out to get her... what if their dynamic changed? What if one wife was favored over the rest? Pistis was worried of the tensions that may come with the change. Any competition that may come with it. A part of her thought she’d definitely be the weakest, therefore becoming the scapegoat.

But she said nothing, didn’t tense up or anything. Doing her best to make sure Gwyn suspected none of her nervous thoughts. “Alright.” She responded simply. Closing her own eyes. It was not time yet, she was alright for now. She still had Gwyn to herself. It would be foolish of her to walk back on their promises now. They were both allowed to have other female lovers. That had been their agreement. Pistis couldn’t let the phantom pettiness get to her. Women were scary, though.

Pistis was very different from the one woman he had once considered his equal but, in truth, the pale lady was becoming a very close second. She was brave and fragile, spunky and quiet, loving and shy all in the same breath and he enjoyed her confidence growing. He caught her smile at the promise of action later on, his own lips curving upward. She was patient with his insatiable appetite. Enjoyed it or so she said. However the man all but missed her fear. Her worry about the others that would join them. "good" he rumbles softly to her alright. Completely unaware of the panic she was feeling; at least until she brought it up later on.. if she ever did.
