Several more lions would arrive, the sudden influx causing for Keir's heartrate to rise slightly. Him and certain public situations seemed to cause for his body to tense up and cause for the thoughts of leaving to be alone were more and more common as he aged, but he knew that a hunt needed bodies; the more bodies there were the better chances of taking down bigger, better prey. With each appearance would the yearling give a nod, showing that he acknowledged their presence.

With another thought would he start to do what he did before: grabbing some mud with his paws and rubbing it against his body. Even if the others didn't mind their scent wafting in the air to potentially spook of their prey, Keir wanted to at least practice this on his end. After he was finished would he focus back upon the tracks, moving slowly next to them once more before ears caught the sounds of grunts, looking back at what their prey was going to be: a hippo calf. The ebony lion would backtrack slowly until he were back with the group, catching the words from the berry lioness hushed tones, laying out the plan to achieve a takedown. With that would he wait a moment, eyes watching her before he decided to follow her lead.

Keir's sides were heaving heavily as he panted, nostrils flaring. His lips were covered in the sweet metallic red of blood, clamping down a part to take his share. He'd never been apart of a hunt that included a prey as large as this one and the wave of confidence seem to overwhelm him... And so would his hunger. Stomach would grow mightily as he removed his share, and with a nod of farewell would he take off, in search for a place to wash off the mud and to pig out in peace.

They wouldn't be alone for too long as it seemed that whatever their prey was going to be were attracting others. First would the strawberry lioness arrive, @Cleopatra a known figure to the Viking even though they only met once. She were apart of the natives and that made her important just like the rest of them. He'd give her a curt nod, golden gaze glancing over his figure before they flitted to the next to arrive. This one seemed a bit... odd. Valhalla would watch him with watchful eyes, ears pricking forward as he seemed to be speaking in his direction. Far away from home? "All of Amaryllis was my home until unfortunate events happened." That was all he would say, tail lashing slightly at his heated temper. His attention would then settle upon a spotted lioness, watching as she seemed to feel at ease around them; did she know some of the others that were here? She would come up on Valhalla's side and a brow would be raised at her question. Did she want to make chitchat before they went after whatever it is they were going for?

When it seemed like nobody else was going to arrive did they finally see what their meal was for the day. A hippopotamus calf, seeming to have strayed a bit too far from mother's peripherals. What a shame... for the calf, that is. Ears would hone in on @Sarabi as she hashed out their game plan, a nod being given in acknowledgement before he sprung into action.

Sweet victory would cause for the colossal to let out a satisfied, rumbling noise. He were crouched low at the carcass, watching the others a moment before he dug into to take his fill. Valhalla wouldn't waste any time afterward, slipping away and heading back toward the Oasis to eat his dinner in peace.

As a yearling, he was clawed over the scruff by an elder in the pride for relying too much on his nose. As an adult, he stalks his prey with his eyes gold and wide, drinking in views of his prey and not just the scents it has left for him to follow.

Black feet carry him forward as a lope toward their spotted prey and thankfully, it is not much of a chase - an infant hippopotamus can't go far - but it is danger they face in the place of an exhausting sprint. "Carefulls!" he calls to the party, slowing at the edge of the water to calculate the best approach; the kind that will avoid the animal's jaws "gentle creatures these do not being!"

With stained lips, Balathet draws nose up from his earnings and tells a brief albeit solemn tale "Lucky are we being today. Saw once when cub was I, crunched lion be by hippo."

With a full belly he says his goodbyes and begins the trek home across to the Oasis.

Settling down to wait for others she looked at @Valhalla and gave him a nod as he noticed her. Soon more would arrive and some of them wouldn’t shut up. Idle chitchat was one thing when not hunting, but was these outsiders trying to give them away? Prey has ears. They can hear a noise lion. It mattered not it seemed for soon enough had arrived and the other strawberry woman was giving orders. Following them was simple enough and in the end they would take down their prey. A prayer of thankfulness to Maua was given and than Cleo would grab a piece. Nodding at those still there she took her food and left.

All in all, it's a successful mission. They find their prey, work together cohesively as adults do, and come out victorious. Admittedly, Narcissa is a bit disappointed that she has to share now, but she supposes it will have to do. It is better than going hungry entirely, after all. With blood-stained jaws, she pries free her own share of the kill, hefting a leg between her teeth and turning back in the direction of her home, her tail flagging high and casual behind her. She has no need to stick around for pleasantries, after all.

Gawain sat quietly, listening to the chit-chat of the other lions as they waited for the hunt to begin. He noticed the tracks belonged to a young hippo. The scent was almost overwhelming anyways. Sad to kill something so young, but hippos were dangerous as adults, so he didn't feel too bad. Besides, to hunt is the nature of the lion.

Soon enough, the hunt was over. He took a moment to stretch his back so that he wouldn't be sore later, then he approached the hippo, paid his silent respects, and tore a large enough chunk for himself and the cub he was hiding. With that, he nodded goodbye to everyone and loped off into the bog.
