Ismae was rather determined to keep Firnen in good health, and in order to do that, she knew she needed to keep a steady supply of food coming into the pride. Prey was scarce during the Winter, it was a fact most to all lions knew, and because of this the huntress knew she'd have to be even more focused as she scouted.

Lucky for her, she manged to catch the faint scent of prey.

A hare perhaps, and as Ismae neared closer to the smell, she let her yellow eyes focus in on the prints left behind. Nodding to herself, she confirmed her thoughts- but judging by the prints it seemed to be more than just one hare as well. Ismae lifted her head back up, and allowed herself a moment to think, breathing in the air and looking at her surroundings. Soon enough, her paws began to move, following the tracks and the scent, determined to bring some type of food back home.

while making one of her many trips back from the coastal region, nymeria found her stomach rumbling with low, yet persistent, bursts of hunger. it had been a long day of travel, and, while she would be unable to bring anything of large value back to her pride's catch, she figured that it would be just as good to start with feeding herself, and then go from there. she did have extra mouths to feed now, after all, despite the fact that she was still rather early along in her pregnancy. but it was a good excess to sneak in another meal, and for that, she would not complain!

moving towards the watering hole, nymeria was quick to pick up on the scent of prey, wafting across the still, winter air. it heightened her instincts almost instantly, shoulders rolling forwards and strides growing wider the further that she went, until her eyes caught sight of tracks splayed against the earth. hares, if she was not mistaken. after only a few more strides, the druid noted the presence of another woman nearby, who seemed to have similar intensions as herself, which prompted a low chuff of acknowledgment from the valour. "want a hand?" low, quiet words were spoken in @Ismae's direction, pausing for a moment, to ensure that she was not intruding upon the other woman.

Ismae had been absorbed in the scent and footprints, following them with a keen focus in her eyes, attentive and aware of her surroundings. So, when the sound of another came Ismae halted; head lifting slowly until she found herself looking to another lioness, one that smelt heavily of a pride. She didn't seem hostile, nor violent by any means, and her words were spoken in hushed tones that implied she was knowledgeable enough with hunting to know not to scare off the prey.

"I'd enjoy that." Ismae replied just as softly, accepting the company and rather relieved to have it - her days were usually spent alone despite being a ruler to Firnen, she was just so busy adjusting and providing that she hardly got the time to truly talk or enjoy the presence of others.

"This way, I believe," She motioned with her head, limbs carrying her after the scent of prey and following the footprints, hoping the woman wouldn't be too slow to join in.

there was always that moment of pause, of uncertainty, while waiting for the response of the other party. turth be told, nymeria was just as likely to be shooed away than she was to be welcomed with open arms -- but thankfully, today, it would seem as though she would be graced with the latter. eyes watched @Ismae's form as she accepted the druid's offer for assistance, skull bobbing in a brief nod, before she looked to fall in line beside the huntress, allowing her instincts to lead the way across the plains. and while she typically would have liked to indulge in some chit-chat and pleasantries before getting down to business, it was hardly worth risking losing the animals' trails, or missing out on the meal altogether. so, this time, all that would need to wait until later.

following the footprints left behind by the rabbits, the scent of the prey grew stronger, and stronger, until she was finally able to spot them, there, off beneath the shade of a nearby tree. slowing her pace slightly, nymeria would look to twist her maw in the other woman's direction, tones remaining quiet and hushed, as she hoped that they would soon be able to fill their bellies with a meal. "i'll go in from the left, if you want to take the right?" nymeria suggested, shoulders pushed forward as she dropped her hips closer towards the earth. surely, the two of them were strong, capable women - the hares would not stand a chance, if she had anything to say about it!
