the natives he had met were kind, peaceful and kept to themselves. he wanted to know more about them. he wanted to be friends with them. they had been here longer, much longer. if Scilla was to survive under his reign, Oberon needed to seek out more allies. so he chuffs at the border for the woman who led them, having seen her before but never spoken to.

though he was also here to speak frankly about the attacks - if they didn't know - Oberon could do with another alliance. he had no obligation to warn them, but he would feel terrible if something happened to anyone in the Brook. it was bad enough it happened to two in his pride. waiting, he sits. he could have brought Orca or Tobin along but... he needed this done fast.

Tobin was thankfully going to handle gathering information. Orca needed some time to adjust to the Lagoon. he did not want to pressure them, though respected their skills as ambassadors.

toes flexed against the soft earth below while the woman pondered, her heart heavy and mind running amuck. poor ygritte seemed to have wandered off again, and while nymeria reassured herself that her daughter was getting older and was more independent than she had been all those months ago upon the beach, it did little to help soothe the mother's worry.

her only salvation was in the arrival of a visitor upon her borders, who's unfamiliar voice roused the woman from her resting spot and sent her off towards the edge of the grove. nymeria's senses were heightened, finding herself to be a bit more cautious than usual due to the new cubs running around the brook -- it was the first litter in the valour family in so long, and, already, the three of them were incredibly and utterly spoiled. and soon, they would not be the only ones. "hello there," she called out towards @Oberon as she emerged from under the canopy, her tones soft and inquisitive, as she loomed forward a few more feet. hovering only upon the edge of the invisible line, her eyes would settle comfortably upon his visage, before asking: "how can i help you today?"

"hey" he says casually, though not rudely. a soft smile touches the man's lips as he looks at what he assumes is the Brook Queen. he raises a paw to his chest "my name is Oberon, High Sovereign of Scilla Lagoon" introductions were in order, yes? he had never met her, but had seen her around some challenges "I've come to, ah... well, I wish I was coming on better terms." he shuffles uncomfortably against the cool earth.

an alliance would be welcomed, but he was not here to talk politics. at least, not yet. Oberon sighs softly. "there have been attacks on women" he tells @Nymeria "I thought all the prides should know" in case there were more victims or people being scouted as victims "it seems to be happening near water sources or victims just find themselves washed there. Stygian Shore and the Flamingo Pond."

the Brook was a bit close to that secondary location. "that's at least two locations we know to be frequented" Fionnuala at the pond. Titania, Jewel... the shore "one victim was able to identify her attacker. a man named Vermier Dieudonne" but it was not known if it was a group or a lone rogue "I know it's a lot to take in." he finishes with a frown.

The new mother had taken the time to leave Morrigan within the den to look after their children so that she could get a quick meal. Not wanting to put all the pressure on the dark soldier to fetch it for her in an effort that she could stretch her own legs for a quick minute. This had been an opportune time for a call to sound and instantly, Talisa needed to go. As an Heiress it was her responsibility to help where she could at the borders even if she knew @Nymeria wouldn't expect her to.

The cleric had only just broke through to see the her sister and the Lagoon King @Oberon standing there when she heard the news. Her heart dropped, knowing and feeling everything in those few words and how they affected life in Amaryllis. I'm sorry to interrupt; Talisa Valour, Heiress. Nymeria's sister. She was somewhat quick to introduce herself to be polite while dying to ask, is it just women? Morrigan, she felt, could handle herself well enough (she doubted she could but she didn't particularly leave the Brook very often lately) but it was her children she was concerned about.

though nymeria would not go as far to say that she was naive, she certainly had not been expecting the words that were quick to fall from @Oberon's mouth. her ears pricked forward at first, eyes cast upon his form lightly, until there is a macabre shift in the air, and her expression fell almost instantly. the fact that there were now heartless vagabonds running around and attacking without reason was the manifestation of all of nymeria's fears -- the emotions swelled within her chest like a flood, and while she attempted to conceal them from spilling out onto her complexion, there is the detectable furrow of her brows and the slight downturn of her lips. "thank you, oberon, for the news. my name is nymeria valour." a formality that needed to be covered, regardless of the fact that this news was as disheartening as it was frightening.

thankfully, @Talisa was soon at her side, her presence offering a silent sort of comfort that her sister appreciated. the question was valid as well, aiming to lean slightly into the brunette's flanks, before tagging on an inquiry of her own, "i am unfamiliar with the name -- but who was attacked? if you don't mind me asking." her head swarmed with the names and faces of all those that she had met in the past year, and she could not help but be worried for them and their well-beings.
