The water was cool this morning. A cold, bitter night had dropped the temperature and although the rising sun was beginning to usher life and warmth back into the landscape the water would take much more energy to warm up. It chilled her gums, ran slick and cool down the back of her throat as she leaned downwards to take a few drinks from Glacier Lake's refreshing shores. The morning sun was cascading down upon her white fluffy fur, bleaching out the grey speckles adorning her. Her lifted up her delicate head, glancing down the shoreline to her left she began to pace along aimless and gentle towards a shaded area of the lakeshore beside a large rock that cast a shadow down the stony and rough landscape. Just enough space for a white lioness to sit herself down and take to grooming the night's sleep from her face and cheeks.

The cold night was pleasing to her and now that the night was over with and she had gotten a full night's sleep, Astrid would move out from the cold cavern she called home and out into the open where the sun was beginning to shine on the land and therefore life will begin again. That didn't stop Astrid as she walked towards the Lake where she'd find herself not alone. Which wasn't strange to her anymore even though she was one that stuck to the shadows, so even with another nearby grooming themselves, Astrid ignored them and went to the Lake for a drink.

Astrid approached with a seeming confidence that was unfamiliar to the white lioness. Her motions all slowly ceased and she left herself frozen in time and space save for her eyes watching, tracing along the Viking's movements until she reached the lake herself. She chirped softly and had a brief flurry of motion- winding and undoing the stillness in the air about her. She flighty moved around to the back side of the rock and then came around the other side- her fluffy face peering outwards with one good dark brown eye towards @Ástríðr. She was already beginning to creep out again, one paw reaching forwards for a long but slow and tentative step back in Astrid's direction.

Perhaps Astrid should've stayed inside today and venture out later or go in a different direction but she had been staying in the more warmer areas more lately and it was time to get back to her ice. So after a drink, granted she had seen the white girl move off of the rock and behind it, Astrid would turn to face the rock slightly. She could pick up that this one was shy and fleeting like most birds and that was what she was reminded of. So, proudly, Astrid would sit down and watch her closely. I do not bite, Vit fågel. She would give this one a nickname. One that would fit her for now.

I do not bite. It beckoned the white bird closer. She took those same sorts of long but careful strides out until she was entirely exposed again. Her one eye turned from looking cautiously to looking curiously at the powerful woman, her poise graceful but solid. She would approach @Ástríðr from the side and softly chuffed, keeping her posture a little low but with fluid motions. She leaned inwards to sniff at the air between them and the Viking maiden's scent. Something about it all seemed to make her feel secure and so the flighty woman smiled and flashed a friendly non-verbal greeting to her.

An eyebrow would raise as the white girl seemed to draw tentatively closer towards her before she was finally sitting down near her but not really next to her. Interesting. Ears twisted as Astrid would watch her sniff the air between them and it had her curious. What draws you here? She was pale. She had extra fur. Was she a relative? She was uncertain and as far as she knew, none of Astrid's relative's lived here anymore. They had all left Amaryllis before the new comer's had come along.

The detail and intricate patterns adorning @Ástríðr like a cloak seemed to catch the pale speckled woman's attention. She was flittering her vision down Astrid's side when the viking woman spoke. With her voice Songbird's atteniton was warped back up and she jerked her gaze rapidly to the palomino woman. And then it traced over to her side, looking out over the lake's rippling surface and cool presence. Water. She indicated with a slight tilt of her head that would jut her nose in the direction of the Glacier Lake's cool center. Her expressive face would then glide back to Astrid and her lone good eye would get wider with curiousity, her head tilting like an exhuberent puppy- You?

With the silence came the perfect time for Astrid to properly study the woman before her. She took note of the lone eye, of the scars on the other and it caused her to be slightly interested if not concerned as well. Teal jewels glanced over the white woman's form before seeing the bobbing of a head towards the water, indicating that the woman wanted water. Moving over, Astrid would give her room to walk to it. Then come get some, I do not bite. Hard. Okay maybe she did. Don't judge. Same thing. She was thirsty, and hungry.

@Ástríðr gave her room and a spark of the woman's flightiness seemed to return. She lifted a forepaw and it hovered backwards. For a second her brain thought about taking a step backwards and moving away from the viking. Her body reacted in the name of flight but paused before that single paw ever touched back to the ground. She shifted it forwards instead. And then another. Until she was beside Astrid and lowering her head to take a drink. The cold glacier water was familiar and delightful in the back of her throat, it brought a smile over her face and while wearing that she looked up and over at Astrid to make sure her company also got what she came here for.

She saw the hesitation in the silent woman and Astrid would glance away so that her gaze was not to uncomfortable on the hesitated woman. Ears twitch on her head as she would hear the paws hitting the ground got closer instead of further away, and soon they were at the water's edge and Astrid glanced over in time to see the white bird to give her a smile. A twitch of her lips before a chuckle would come from her as she'd wait for @Songbird to finish her drink before Astrid would move a few inchest away, enough to be comfortable, and would get her own drink.
