though nymeria was not quite sure what sort of hunting party she would be afforded upon such a warm, summer evening, the one that she received exceeded every and all expectations that she made have had. one after another they filtered in, a mixture of familiar and unfamiliar faces -- though still, each is welcomed with a smile and a nod of the sovereign's crown, chest rumbled in sounds of satisfaction as she looked to make brief conversation with the group of hunters. "good evening, everyone. of course, the more the merrier ~" a warm acceptance of their company, tail flickering idly behind her frame as she rolled her shoulders forward, offering a few more moments of idle chit-chat before the hunt would begin. "my name is nymeria valour, for those who don't know me. it's a pleasure." she offered the introduction towards @Sahara, @Caligula, @Elijah, @Watson, and @Zulema, passing her eyes over each with intent and idle interest. @Demetria, @Heloise, and @Talisa were regarded with the same warmth, though their's was paired with a knowing glint within her moonstone gaze -- after all, maybe this would be a good opportunity to mingle with some of the newcomers, and perhaps forge relationships that they otherwise may never get the chance to. at the bare minimum, if nothing else, it was a good excuse to fill their bellies and share bliss over a hard earned meal.

after giving everyone a few more moments to socialize and make acquaintance with one another, should they wish, nymeria would turn her attention back to the target of tonight's hunt -- a lone, wandering oryx, beyond the protection of their herd, oblivious to the threat of the hunting party. taking a moment to process the setting and the best strategy, the druid would finally look back to the group, confident in their capabilities and the plan that would be set forth. "thankfully, the overcast and the waning sun will help us stay hidden while we get close. i'd like the women to follow me, to the right, and for the men to follow my sister, demetria's, lead up along the left side. if you can corral the oryx in our direction, we will cut it off, down by the edge of the water." she explained, looking to her lead huntress for approval, along with any other signs of disagreement from the group, as the words fell from across her tongue. considering their size and sheer numbers, however, it would surely be an easy feat. assuming that no one had any complaints, the group would swiftly and fluidly fall into motion, instincts and prowess pushing them forwards towards the promise of a meal.

by the end of it all, nymeria stood above the carcass, her chest heaving in rushed, heavy breaths of air, her entire body coated in a thick layer of adrenaline. just like that, success had found itself to them once again, unmatched and almost all too easy in its arrival. her gaze would dart around the faces of those gathered, all of whom were equal players in the fortitude of their strength and victory, as she intended to thank them all for their hardwork. "good job everyone -- please, take your fill." they had all earned it, after all!

Heloise would have felt bad for Nymeria if she knew the woman expected her to mingle with the strangers. That... wasn't her thing right now. Sure, she'd be polite to them, but she wasn't going to be hanging out with a big group of them like this.

Hence why once they had brought down the oryx she caught her breath and then headed back towards the brook, though she lingered out if sight in case Nymeria or the others should come back dragging whatever remained of the carcass for their stores. Then she would pitch in and help them haul, but otherwise she would simply return to their pride once it was clear others had headed out.

With some fair amount of luck between all of these strange inhabitants of Amaryllis, they succeeded in the fall of a singular Oryx. As it were, Zulema didn't much care for sharing in a nice meal with the others but once the adrenaline wore down she casually gravitated to @Elijah's side as she hadn't noticed him beforehand. Those that surrounded them were mostly from the native pride but very unfamiliar to her personally. A few of them didn't quite smell so pride-ish but today was not the day nor was it the time to recruit. Instead, she nudged Elijah with the first goodbye before looking to those gathered. Thanks for the hunt. Was fun. A simple wording for those that had come as Nymeria Valour - leader of their little hunting party - addressed to eat their fill. Seeing as she wasn't hungry and Elijah was capable, she simply pursed her lips and turned to leave. No use staying where it was a little crowded and awkward. exit zu

More and more continued to come. It went from a small hunting party to a rather large one. It reminded him of the pride hunts he used to participate in. It felt like ages ago since he had done that. He missed that feeling. But this didn't have that feeling. He didn't know most of the populace here. There wasn't that easy camaraderie as there was in pride hunts.

The maneless male listened as introductions were made and then instructions were given. He followed along after the huntress he was instructed to and did his part in herding. He was appreciative of the task. Caligula had always done better with chasing than he had with a take down.

Once the oryx was killed Caligula waited his turn to grab his portion. "I thank you for letting me join but I need to get this back to my cubs." He gave his excuse before grabbing his piece of meat and leaving the group behind.

the cream-colored huntress introduces herself and a few of those at her side - cornflower blue gaze lingering. there's a moment where he wants to say something, exchange his own name in return, but they get down to business far too quickly to accommodate his weebling. any disappointment is brushed aside as elijah listens intently, keen to take instructions to heart. their target was a lone oryx, who'd wandered too far from its herd. a small mistake, but one that would prove grave. easily elijah does as he is instructed - happy to help herd the cow where it needs to go. he is not strong nor particularly swift, but he does well enough and soon the smell of blood is thick on the air - and a job well done is in order. thank you for letting us join you - it's been a pleasure, he murmurs softly - mostly for nymeria's benefit, as she had been the one to summon them all, but he glances at all those in attendance regardless. only zulema is a face he recognizes and when she seeks to leave, elijah does as well - dipping his head in respect to those who care to see. with that, he seeks to depart - following in the red-pelted noble's path, though lingering far enough behind that his presence would not be unwelcome.

she would let them hover, or eat, or leave as they pleased -- and all-the-while, the woman would stay paused, her eyes grazing over the shuffling faces, both familiar and new, until the hunting party winded down to a close. instinctively did her stomach lurch with a quick jab of hunger as she stood there, rolling quietly through her body in longing fashion, before it prompted her to push herself back onto her feet and move towards the carcass. sparring a quick look to her present pride-mates, the druid would look to pluck a piece of the meal for herself, intending to bring it back to the pride's catch before feasting. she was thankful that so many had shown up to partake in the quick hunt, even if most of them would still leave here as strangers -- but, nymeria supposed she couldn't be too picky. waiting a few moments more for the other vermedans to be ready, it was only then that she would look to remove herself from the watering hole, dipping her head a final time towards the group, before departing. exit.

The two sisters would not be alone for long. @Sahara, @Caligula - a face she recognised from the successful giraffe hunt from not so long ago - @Elijah and @Watson would each receive a nod in turn. @Heloise, being a pride mate, would earn a somewhat warmer greeting; a chuff, and a brief smile. @Zulema - another stranger - and her beloved sibling @Talisa. They would all be welcome as far as the wheat-pelted huntress was concerned; the more the merrier. As instructed by her sister, she would seek to guide the men of the group along to the left of their quarry. When it was all over, the woman would slump down in the long grass, waiting until she'd caught her breath before rising to her paws and taking her share back to the Brook.

They were a very lucky bunch that was able to take down an Oryx. An unfortunate number given how many lions were present but Talisa was never one to be dissatisfied with what Maua provided for them. So the cleric arched his neck in a bow and delivered her solid prayer. One that she had never failed to procure and refused to do so now.

Talisa didn't much care if anyone outside of her family or the Brook heard her as this was not meant for them. Meant to soothe herself and give thanks to the prey that had fallen to their claws, as well as to Maua who had gifted them this so that they may have full bellies. Once all was clear and well, she awaited for those to grab their fill before listening to her sisters and their directives until following Nymeria homeward. exit talisa!

She was not the only one that heard the call and was not the only one to respond, many faces she did not know came and could not help but feel wary of all these lions and lionesses. Her ears flattened against her skull as she debated on whether she should still join this hunt or disappear into the background as the mayhem began but then instructions came and her stomach grumbled in answer. So she was to stay and do her part.

It did not take long, this many in a hunting party and the driving males did preform quite well for she and the girls moved on cue of their leading lady. All had gone smoothly and she remembered after a few bites why she had been searching alone and hungry. Her siblings were here or at least her sister. With a dip of her head she grabs a small piece that would not take too much from the other hungry loins and left without a word.
