Under the ledge from where she stood, she had a perfect view of particularly unlucky bush pig getting a bit too excited over its own feet and tripping straight into the water. The splash sent several other animals scurrying, but her spot stayed nice and dry- nevermind that she was by no means close enough to even imagine touching any bit of the water. Call her sentimental, but Jester wasn't really on friendly terms with large bodies of water lately. If anyone asked, she was just superstitious. The way they made her face scrunch up when she saw them was unrelated.

She'd been having a lot of free time lately. Lots of time to think. Didn't really have anywhere to be. Jester was itching. She couldn't remember the last time she had spoken to someone that wasn't herself, and she slept either too much or too little. She was, as her father would say, an utter mess, darling. Thankfully her father was not there and so she would not wallow in self pity even if she was a pitiful sad useless creature.

Anyway. No self pity.

Or she'd have tried, really, except literally the same goddamn moment she stood with the full intent to walk away, the aforementioned now-wet bush pig zoomed right past, droplets and nasty pig stench spraying her right in the face, and Jester slammed back, head hitting the ledge, ledge returning the hit, and whatever happened between that and the following moment was entirely lost time time because next thing Jester knew she was on the ground, dust all up in her eyes and skull ringing. Because every other thing going wrong in her life currently wasn't enough, apparently she also needed a killer headache.

"Ugggghhhhhhhhh."

Well it sure sounded like someone was having an issue of some sort... The shadows beyond the stranger stirred with silent curiosity. In the form of a mottled head rising above the brush, draped with a rather flat mane that covered all but one of a young male's hazel eyes, staring off in the general direction of what appeared to be a little leopard.

She was so... Curiously colored. He had never seen a dark leopard before though he had heard of them. They looked more like lions than he expected them to.

Either way, she seemed pretty distressed currently. Writhing on the ground like a little worm. He had no idea how close his master was to him at the moment so he'd cast a gaze behind him to look, before beginning to slide from the brush and into the open- taking a few loose twigs with him. They unceremoniously dangled from his stringy hair, lightly waving in the breeze.

"Little leopard, did you hit your head?"

Jester's ear swiveled around a full second before her head did, and even then her temple gave a sharp stab at the movement. Ugh. What was she, a bumbling infant? Might as goddamn well. First speech would go, then balance, and before she knew it she'd be back to looking for milk or whatever. Then she'd die, because no one would nurse her grown ass.

Assumedly. Probably. Focus, Jes.

She didn't correct him, not because he wasn't wrong because he absolutely was but because some part of her kind of liked the way it sounded. It was funky. Or maybe she had just hit her head a bit harder than originally expected.

"Yep", she replied very deadpan, popping the p. "What, never seen a grown woman have a fun self-inflicted little concussion before?"

Walthari smiled, but in such a way that it was obvious he wasn't completely getting her little joke made at her own expense. "No... Not until now I suppose." And with that, he stepped a bit closer into the light, pointedly looking her over- namely, her freshly bonked head.

"Perhaps you shouldn't sleep for a while... A comatose leopard is easy prey for an opportunistic scavenger. Say, a pack of wild mongrels." But that was likely obvious to her, and he was no medic with qualifications to really say anything beyond that. Simply a piece of helpful advice. Moving on from that though, he sat back comfortably on his haunces.

"What is your name, maculosa puella?"

Large bodies of freshwater like this always attracted prey and predator alike, mingling them together into a single mass that more often than one would think would play nice. It was as if nature itself had set a truce, or at least that was what he had been taught as a child.

Speaking of, he could have sworn Walthari's scent was coming from somewhere nearby. Perhaps the yearling had returned to the fields to do work on his scentwork some more or was gathering herbs, but this close to the watering hole he imagined it was more sociable than that. Usually unless there was a reason not to eat it the plantlife around such places as this was kept short and trim by grazing herbivores. So, it would be either those passed over plants or exploration he would be guessing.

As the angel drew nearer to the source of the scent he could hear the murmur of voices, one of which being that of his disciple. His eyes finally caught up, landing on Walthari and a dark furred lioness who seemed to be 'woozy. Had the younger male poisoned someone?

Padding forward, Faust let his cruor gaze sweep over the scene before speaking.

"Is there something the matter?" He cared not which replied, only that some light be shed on the situation. If she was poisoned then Walthari would need a quick lesson on body disposal. You know...for holy reasons.
