skarde should be kinder. he should be sweet and full of valor, even chivalrous. perhaps when his goals are met and his family is put back together, but until the he remains an outlaw, a ward of the state, a wanted criminal and a lone wolf. this female, this... creature understands him, though she doesn't know it yet. skarde can smell the empathy wafting off of her like the fresh scent of a lioness in heat. you're like me, he thinks, teeth shimmering in the glow of the moonlight hovering above them. perhaps likeness is what skarde is after, though he can't admit that to himself just yet.

the brute enjoys his prey's cry for mercy, and takes even more bliss in leaving her unfulfilled for such. blood fills his nose, and stings his eyes, but still he watches the bobbed femme struggle for one last punch of energy in their personal war. i will, he seethes. i will. i can have anyone i want. what he will do with her? heaven only knows, but skarde isn't the type to love and leave. though his terror is unmatched, for the time being he will leave his new prize alone, and perhaps fuck her another time.

her bite lands with force, but it just barely breaks the skin. skarde can feel blood trickle between the webbing of his toes, and with a downward slash he rips his paw from her mouth and slices into her face and over her eyes, claws pressing fiercely against her skin as he attempts as deep of a cut as he can fashion. i don't like ugly women! skarde snarls with a blasting laugh, but i'll take what's left after i cut them up.

I will, he breathes unto her, and Avaneira recoils at the harrowing intensity of his words, I will. I can have anyone I want. What would have Arsynia done, what would she have said? Certainly, she would have had the strength to unearth the man from under his paws, years spent forging and waging wars offering her a strength far unlike her daughter. She had spent her entire life conquering the whims of lesser men simply to feel the thrill of a fight and exercise power over others, something Avaneira once saw as a weakness, but now realized that perhaps it was simply for survival. And Dresden? Would he have commanded respect simply because he was a man, wisened and aged and independent?

She had been truly ill-prepared for the ilks of life, the brutality of men, the whims of a godless, lawless place.

The thrusting of his claws against the corners of her eyes left small rivulets of blood that let down her cheeks, mixing with the tears that prickled in the corners of those same eyes. While her face would not scar from this experience, the pain that seared through her jaw to the fringes of her lips and her ears could not be understated. She wanted to scream, but as she opened her mouth, she could managed nothing more than half-whimpered gasps for air that could scarcely fill her lungs. I don't like ugly women! he snarled, and Avaneira choked out a single, decrying sob, but I'll take what's left after I cut them up. Would Avaneira bare these wounds, become wretched and ugly and bound to this man simply because she could hardly fight back? And yet, as the pressure of his paws pinning her to the ground began to slip her into a loose consciousness, Avaneira could not help but feel the last of her will falter, fettered. Finally, she relented and surrendered, falling limp under his intense grasp.

skarde can't believe his luck. the lioness collapses before him, in too much pain and stress to continue the fight. he doesn't even bite back the sneer that rips along his lips like an unhatched zipper. his beauty. all his, and he doesn't intend to waste her. when the struggle finally ceases, skarde releases his grip on the maiden and lifts his paw. he takes a step back and inspects the damage, then cocks his head to say you are mine now. no harm will come to you as long as you remain loyal to me. the rage and hatred melts away, and the scars on skarde's face now tell a different story. there's a soft blink as he opens his mouth and pants, a sliver of bloody saliva dripping from his teeth. she hates him now, perhaps, and the next step will be building loyalty. a tricky, tricky thing, but skarde is ready for the challenge. i will not ask anything more of you today. but come with me, and we shall find a medic to heal you. briskly, skarde turns his back, tail twitching as he pads in front of her and towards an open clearing past the tall coconut grove.
