She had been running for a while now. Something was chasing her. She knew it. She could still feel the beasts breath on her heels. Hear them yipping and darting around her. She was sure they were still after her. They'd cornered her and run her into this desolate place, surrounded either side by water. No where to hide. The painted monsters would surely catch her if she slowed or couldn't find a place to hide. The child was desperate.

The meek figure was running with everything there was left in her frail body. Her red pelt was dull and dirty and barely disguised the ribs that were beginning to peek out from her sides. She was far to small to be on her own, and any that saw her would likely be taken aback by seeing such a young cub on her own. But she didn't have a choice. One thing that was not dull or broken yet was her eyes. The magenta and yellow hues still burned with the fire of a fighter. Roxanne would never give up without a fight.

Panting heavily, her eyes finally saw towering stones in the distance. Thank goodness. She could probably find somewhere to hide there, so she could stop running. Her legs throbbed and paws ached with each step they dug into the sand. Just a bit further, and she could rest. Somewhere to hide from the beasts chasing her. Somewhere she could be safe for at least a little while.

BIG PINK HEART

Fionn hadn't wanted to see what he saw.

But that was most definitely a little cub, running through the sands, wretched looking and frightened. His heart thudded against his ribs and his body wqas tugged towards the little red creature, chuffing as he came toards the babe.

"Little one!" he called, concern in his soft vocals, sand dusting behind him as he trotted towards her, rosy pink cloud floating over the shore, "Little one, please - come here. I shall not harm you."

The Sovereign didn't like it, but he intended to place a claim upon her immediately, so as to avoid the situation that had unravelled with little Sweet Pea. Should the little cub grow larger and healthy again and wish to go, he would not stop her. There was always the lagoon or cove she could go to as well.

Small claws dug into the sand when she heard a voice. Wild eyes looked around until she saw it. Another monster. The biggest monster she had ever seen. It probably had bigger claws and teeth too. Roxanne's sides heaved as she panted heavily. Her mind was foggy from expending as much energy as she had to run as far as she did, but that didn't matter now. Now she had to defend herself.

His words fell on deaf ears. Words never meant much to her anyway, they were usually only said to get what someone wanted anyway. And most of the time they weren't true. The ball of fluff let out the most ferocious snarl she could muster and she crouched low, tussled red fur standing on end to try and make herself look bigger. She still paled in comparison to the pink giant. Roxanne spat a hiss at him, eyes flicking from him and where she had come, hoping the painted monsters weren't still after her.

BIG PINK HEART

Fionn hadn't expected such a strong reaction from one so young - but it matched her petrifie visage. So rather than pursue, he stopped a few metres short, and did something quite unbefitting of a King his size and status.

He became a picture of surprise and terror, tail snpping straight and fur frizzing up. He jumped a few inches to sell it, his fear not genuine of course, but enough to convince the little maroon coloured babe, he hoped.

"Oh no!" he gasped, theatrical and fatherly, tumbling onto the sand bar like the great floppy mess he was, bliush mane billowing in the sea winds, wild and everywhere. For added dramatic flare, he swept his great spade-like paws to cover his eyes as though he were truly terrified, quivering. "Please don't hurt me, little one!" he called, "You're very ferocious!"

Well that was... odd. No monster had ever reacted to her that way before. But it was about darn time! The cub watched the monster closely as he rolled into the sand, covering his eyes. Perfect, this could be her chance. Roxanne let out another growl, as ferocious and terrifying as she could muster, and then she turned on her heels and ran as fast as she could towards the closest rock formation.

Her legs were throbbing and weak, but she couldn't stop now. She had to get into a hiding spot small enough that this monster couldn't get to her if he changed his mind about how scary her threat display was. She needed to find somewhere safe to stay for a while. She was so tired. She needed to sleep. Her legs began to fumble under her, but she would not give up until she made it somewhere safe.

If it wasn't for the sounds of someone playing in the beach - he wouldn't have come closer to see who it was. But by the sounds of it it was not really..playing...was it? Vasilis marked his buttocks across the beach - blinks his eyes when he finally got a moment to find out who or what was making the noise. And sure enough, it was his pink birdy pie - Fionn - rolling in the sand and dirt as if someone had just stabbed him. What in the world?

Vasilis crouches down, watching with subtle interest to join them but instead wanted to just watch. His face would soften at the fatherly display of the large pink man leaping and rolling around and the little growls and roars that left the child's lips. His head turns and leans one side of his paws, he was content laying at the beach dune watching the two not far from where he was, his tail flickering back and forth.

Fionn may have caught the scent of Vasilis on the wind had he not been so preoccupied with the little red cub. Her reaction to his fear was truly cute, but the intended affect hadn't happened that he'd wished - she instead vanished to a little nook to hide. Sometimes his size truly did work against him - he wished Aarani were here.....

The pink giant could wait until she slept - it was undoubted that she must be exhausted, just looking at her. But when she awoke they would be faced with the same problem he had now. Fionn sat up, thinking.

Struck with an idea, he sauntered to the edge of the waters, wading in slightly, keeping a side eye trained on her nook should she decide to dash - if she did, he would hoepfully see her telling flash of red.

With that in mind, it didn't take long for Fionn to catch a wee fish after wading in the salt waters. It looked like a saltwater loach of somekind, nothing too large, maybe the size of his paw.

He struck it and pierced its head under the water, reaching down and grabbing it in his maw.

Ever so slowly, he crept towards where the babe his. He dropped the fresh kill metres away from where she hid, before backing off and turning his back to her and the fish. Should he hear movement, he would chance a glance over his shoulder - surely the smell of fresh fish would coax her out? At the very least, he'd given her a meal which would aid her appetite.

Vasilis knew that @Fíonn was a gentle soul, that he would never harm anyone. he stretches from the hilltop to get a better view of the pink man dropping his food and getting a fish, even going to try and give It to the babe. But she rush, he could feel the exhaustion from here. Then his mind skipped - it overlayed a child from his home running from the fires of the woodlands, their body cloaked in fire and the smell of death. Then the child running body turned into the babe on the beach heading to the rocks. He didn't give a moment's thought about it anymore, instead of observing now his body screamed at him to rescue the running child. The exhausted child didn't take long for him to get to where they were. Like wind chimes against a gentle breeze, he arrives at where she nearly collapses. He provides a fatherly-like shelter, gentle ease of his body to stand over @Roxanne. As Fionn crouches down to see where she goes, Vasilis stands over it.

He dare not speak, she was already so scared. Instead, he looks at the scared child. A sweet smile touches his eyes. A gentle hum leaves his lips. He hums a soft tune his body sways like that of what he could recall of his mother doing to him. He hoped that the child would ease, to allow her eyes to float to sleep. To give her a sense of safety if he could.

"What is it with you two and finding cubs together? Are you having a competition?" Aarani teased as she arrived on the scene, her stomach still swollen with milk for her own cubs back home. If there was anything she radiated, it was mother.. and healer, but that was different altogether. The palomino lioness gave the cub and her would-be fathers some space, settling onto her haunches with an amused grin. The two of them were ridiculous, really, always skulking after these cubs and trying to woo them over the other. Her eyes narrowed on the golden lion in particular, finding his interest in cubs rather concerning and inappropriate. There was fatherly and then there was obsessive and needy, and she was positive which one he was. The lagoon man needed to fix himself before trying to tend to children, but that was neither here nor there. "Are they frightening you, little miss? We can make them go away so it's just us ladies, if you want."
