Summer
With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! The days are warm, though comfortable, and peeter off into more mild evenings while the humidity remains low. It is the perfect inbetween until things transition towards more sweltering temperatures, so best enjoy it while it is here.

She needed some sort of release, and what better than to try to find someone to engage in a battle with. Although she was wanting to feel her claws slice through heated flesh and for her teeth to tear at muscle, Valkravn knew that battering herself up in a simple practice wasn't the smartest thing to do. So instead would she bellow out a call for anyone who wished to practice with her, standing in the center of the all too familiar pit. Periwinkle gaze would narrow slightly as they began to observe her surroundings, waiting to see if anyone would oblige her request. And as she waited would her body slip into their defenses with ease: her ears pinning to her skull and her shoulders rolling forward as neck tucked. Her claws would unsheathe and her limbs would spread out to even her weight. Tail would hang limp behind her and the hackles along her spine would slowly rise.

She was long healed since her fight with the red bitch thanks to Sabine's quick and skillful action. She had spent her days gradually increasing her exercises and making sure she felt strong enough. Though, she knew she could only spend so much time running the rainforest borders or hiking up mountain paths. Rivia sought out the large pit where she would hope to find someone willing and able to dance with her.
As she neared the area, it would seem someone else beat her to the punch. The call rung in the air and beckoned Rivia's pace to quicken. Her eyes looked over the edge to the soft pink of the form that stood at the center of the arena. The dark cat made her way down to her and settled in her stance across the way, dipping her head towards her. Rivia leaned and shimmied her pelt cloak off of her to rest in a heap on the floor.
Rivia took a couple steps closer as she set herself before her, shifting her body to put herself in a lowered and ready position. She narrowed her eyes and leveled her head with her shoulders, squaring towards @Valkravn. Her tail was casually limp at her hocks, tail tuft swaying softly. She was ready as she'll ever be, nodding to beckon her to take the first move.

She would wait patiently, taking this time to calm her loud mind and to inhale and exhale slowly. It was easier said than done to clear your mind of everything that had happened recently, and with how fast they had occurred. Almost as soon as she found out about Valhalla's death did the challenge for the Brook happen, and her world seemed to have flipped upside down within a matter of minutes. But right here, right now... Nothing but her and the need to clash bodies with another was the only thing she would allow to take over her mind.
Movement would catch her attention, periwinkle gaze watching as the darker lioness headed in her direction. Brow would subtly rise as she watched the other shake off a pelt she was wearing; that wasn't something she saw everyday. No talking would come from the woman, only her positioning herself head-on and seeming to wait for the Brynmawr to make the first move - and she would not disappoint. With no time wasted would Valkravn charge forward, unsheathed claws gripping into the ground for traction and her tail flailing out behind her to help in balance. She would attempt to clear the distance between them before moving toward her right, her body making itself perpendicular to the woman's left shoulder. With the push of her hindlegs would the Viking outstretch her forelegs, attempting to wrap both of them around the lioness's neck. All the while would her jaws part and attempt to grab a hold of the other's left shoulder, not wanting to sink teeth into the meat but just to grab a good enough hold to where the pressure would be uncomfortable and cause for the skin to grow tight. Her tail would continue to lash out behind her and her hind legs would shift and move to keep her as steady as possible.

With her body's defenses set at the ready, she knit her brows as the petal-coated woman took charge towards her. Her right legs skidded out of their place a bit on impact, grunting as her legs wrapped around her neck and her teeth came down onto her left shoulder.
To counter, Rivia would aim to let her body fall to the ground, but not limply. Her goal being to fall to the right and use that momentum to get on her back underneath her opponent. Should she find success, the sea witch would tuck her hind legs in and attempt to kick them up into the woman's stomach - claws kept in their sheaths to avoid serious injury.

Her front legs would wrap around the other's neck just as her jaws gained their hold on the left shoulder. The feeling of satisfaction would wash over her but the feeling would be short and fleeting, for when her opponent countered it was something Valkravn was not expecting. The lioness would fall onto her right side, causing for the pink woman to follow suit since her limbs were wrapped around her neck still. A rather startled snarl would be released as she felt paws kicking at her underbelly, causing for her to release her hold and scramble backward so that the other was no longer underneath her and given access to her underbelly.
As Valkravn did this would she attempt to lunge her jaws at one of the lioness's hind legs, attempting to grip a paw by the ankle and jerk it toward her. It could be seen as a similar action to dragging a piece of prey by its own hind leg, and it was the only idea she had to do in the moment. She wasn't trying to pull hard, but just enough to cause it to be a little more difficult to upright herself. Her Ears would stay pinned and her claws would grip into the ground while she did this, her tail lashing out behind her.

CAUGHT THE AIR IN YOUR WOVEN MOUTH
The other lioness didn't remain atop her for very long until she scrambled off of her. Before she could roll back to her paws, she felt the pressure of her hold on a back paw. Her nose wrinkled with a snarl, flashing ivories in response.
For a moment, she was puzzled on how to move forward from this position. Her front paws were curled to her chest, looking around a brief minute before letting her sights fall back at the pink lioness. Reeling her free hind paw, she would attempt to send it forward to into her opponents face in hopes to push her out of her grip.

Her hold on a hind leg was successful as well as seeming to puzzle the other lioness on what to do next. It gave Valkravn a couple more seconds to think on what she herself should do next, so when she felt the other hind paw smack her on the side of her face would she growl and release her hold. She wouldn't let it deter her, though, and instead would lunge forward once more, this time attempting to place both of her front paws down on one hind leg to try to keep it from moving while her jaws went after the other, attempting to gain a grip again. She still really had no plan, and at this point maybe she was just looking for the other lioness to call out 'Uncle.'

She didn't find enough time to move away from the blush lioness as she managed to knock her off of her hind leg. Rivia felt the force of the other's weight hold one of her legs down, grasping onto her other one with her jaws. A frustrated growl emits from her, feeling her energy starting to fail her. Perhaps she wasn't quite healed enough to fight as well as she had been able to. With her best efforts, Rivia tried to curl herself towards the other.
The dark cat reached her front limbs out in attempts to grapple them onto her shoulders. Her sides burned and Rivia recoils away from her attempts and falls back to the stone floor. "Alright, alright!" she called out, waving a paw towards the other. Her previous injuries seethed and she let out a heavy exhale as she yielded.
Rivia is forfeiting to @Valkravn.

It was a rather bittersweet moment to see her opponent forfeit their spar, but with how they were both positioned it seemed as though Valkravn had the upper hand while the black lioness laid before her and struggled. As she saw the waving of her paw would the Viking release her hold from the ankle and remove her paws from holding the leg down, shifting so that she were a couple paw steps behind the woman to allow her to have ample room to right herself.
@Rivia
That was... interesting, she would begin with a rather bemused tone clinging to her words, lips curling into a subtle grin.
I never tried to drag a lion by their leg before. She had done many different types of unique and unusual moves and counters throughout her life, but that was the first. There was always a first time for everything, though, right?
I'm Valkravn Brynmawr. Her ears would prick forward as she introduced herself, watching the woman with an observant gaze.

Frustrated with her bruised pride, Rivia pulled herself away from the lioness who introduced herself as Valkravn and stood up. She brushed some loose dirt and pebble debris from her shoulder haphazardly. A lazy chuckle bubbled up from her silence as she shrugged at the comment about their battle. "I always seem to end up in weird positions," she said thinking about the time sabine climbed over her head like a monkey and Rivia had to rear backward and land on her to get her off. Must be nice to be small.
Letting out a defeated exhale she sat down before @Valkravn. "Rivia Cindervale," the dark cat gave her name in return, not often divulging her last name, but felt like mirroring her anyway. "Well, thanks for the fight, any way," she remarked, "Clear I still need to practice after healing from my last one." There was a sheepish, breathy chuckle that came from her. Though, beating that woman was definitely worth it.
