There were rare instances where Ida found herself outside of the Cove's boundaries. Today was one of those days. Her hunger and curiosity drove her to the fields, moving further through the tall grasses until the land began to transform and become bare. A soft chuff was sent for @Cassidy as she moved, knowing it would be plenty easier to have her brother's brawn to help her bring down whatever prey she managed to find. Meanwhile her green gaze would continue to scan her surroundings, inhaling and exhaling as she observed the many different trampled tracks in the ground before her. Where there was water there would surely be prey animals and so she intended to move forward in order to find something for herself and perhaps others. As she moved forward she continued to let out a few chuffs in case any other individuals within the vicinity would want to join her on the quest for food. Who would want to turn down the opportunity to have a full belly anyways?

The scent of prey was what lured Keir to the watering hole. He had caught scent of it on the breeze not too far back, and with a rumbling stomach his instincts took over and body began to track down where the scent was coming from. It wouldn't be until he heard several chuffs that he realized he wasn't alone in stalking down what he was smelling, and soon enough blue gaze would land upon a lioness. She smelled of Caladan and he tried to remember if he'd seen her at the pride meeting; most likely but the yearling was a bit bad at noting lions when crowds grew large. He wasn't a big fan of them, so instead he had focused all his attention on Avaneira.

A chuff would be released in reply to her own, the ebony lion stalking forward until he were standing at her right side. "I hope it tastes as good as it smells," he would say in a low tone, lips curling in a soft smile.

5 years - Ranger lvl 0 - No Bonus

This land was new to the golden playboy and that delighted him. It fueled his lust for adventure and the thrill to make a name for himself. A name outside of his adopted family. Don’t get him wrong he’d die for the Valentines, but he too wished to be the big boss one day. Maybe not the boss of the mafia, but of his own gang. Free to roam around a land, perhaps even this new land creating havoc with his gang of beautiful and desirable trouble makers. Prides had never much been his thing after all. Who wants to be bothered with keeping borders marked? Just roaming around a land fighting for the hell of it was more fun.

Though as he roamed around this new land he heard the call of others gathering fora hunt. Excellent. This was a chance to get to know the locals a bit and hopefully snack a bite to eat. Making his way over to @Ida and @Keir he gave a small smirk as he looked them both over. {“Newt.”} Was the only word that left his lips. It was given in a hushed yet playful tone before he settled down to wait for more to join them as he scanned the area for prey.

Absolutely ignoring the fact that she was heavily pregnant, Talisa moseyed down towards the watering hole for a good bathe. The Brook could do the job usually but she had been intending on rolling around and going for a swim which was usually more fun in large bodies of water. Though, the aroma that led her here quickly changed and her senses led her to other lions who were seemingly out for the hunt. Hungry as she was - as always - Talisa was eager to participate and get something out of it. A quick meal for the growing babies was all that she needed and would surely satisfy her for a few hours. At least until dinner.

The watering hole was a large exception today to exactly where she needed to be even if she knew everyone else would be, too. The heat scorched the open land around its body, leaving little shade but otherwise the grass and the mud would be perfect to take a snooze in for a little while. At least until the mud on her body became too cracked and dry for the afternoon sun. The appearance of others alerted her immediately to something else going on, and being one to be on their toes she lifted herself up and carried herself in their direction. Following one of them closely before setting her sights on their prey. Food, of course! If it wasn't a nap to be had, it was a snack!

four years, no bonus It was her wife's scent that drew her away from her path and toward the watering hole, wondering what had possessed her to leave the Brook so heavily pregnant. Food, it seemed was the answer, so even though things might have been a bit rocky of late, Morrigan was still content to try and do whatever heavy lifting @Talisa would allow. She would come to stand beside her, happy to participate in anything with the native woman as often as she could, and trying hard to ignore the rift that had been opened between them. Only time would tell if it could mend itself.

She didn't know the rhythm that led the herds to come and go from the watering hole. But she did know that this many lions gathering tended to lead to food, especially when the lions all smelled like different places. Most of the ones here smelled like the ocean but it wasn't exact. So this wasn't a pride thing that she might be tromping into, but a group hunt that she could understand. (Understand didn't mean she was good at fitting in, it just meant it was familiar.)

Panting, her reddened tongue throbbing in the heat, the variegated lioness ranged up toward the others. Some of the others were content to mill around, scenting the wind and looking for tracks, and Walpurgis had full faith in their ability to find something. This many lions usually did. But what she wanted to do... was kill something! There was nothing to sharpen her claws on but her claws were plenty sharp and deadly. She needed to disguise herself so she could get real close to whatever they found. Keeping an eye on the lion group, Walpurgis waded into the shrinking water hole and got her paws nice and muddy, making sure the stinky places between her toes would not betray her trail. She also dipped herself up to the chest, bobbing up and down in the water so the mud-mix would penetrate to her skin. She was usually a pretty stinky lioness like let's be honest and this wouldn't help her condition once she dried off but at least for the duration of the hunt, she would smell like an inviting water hole instead of a walking trash heap.

Parvati understood the sound. Someone calling strangers to hunt for dinner. Parvati wished they could be so confident and competent one day. How would they be judged if the hunt failed? Even the thought made them nervous and the dry savanna felt a little more damp between their toes. Nonetheless they forced down the feelings and decided to approach anyway. They were hungry enough, right? At least, they thought so. It didn't matter. They'd be hungry eventually. And they would not be ruled by fear.

Coming closer, they smelled the familiar salt and sand of the cove and this made their stomach do another flip and possibly settle. At least not everyone would be a stranger. But, would they be expected to hang out with... Cove strangers? Parvati didn't recognize the first female who had called, and the dark Morrigan (though distinctive) wasn't someone Parvati was comfortable talking to. Their lips crinkled and they shied away from the group, quick to busy themself with staring at tracks in the mud. Most of them were old. Or maybe the lands dried quickly at this time, the height of the dry season.

Parvati ringed halfway around the watering hole and found a place where the water diverted off into a small stream. It was truly small, just a stagnant trail of puddles, but it was a narrow path that was nearly enclosed by savanna grass. It would be quicker to make a jump for the shelter of the savanna and there were also many tracks along the creek. Parvati studied them from the shelter of the reeds and stretching thorns, feeling a little safer under cover.

She scented the members of Caladan and trailed to follow, her skull lowering as she approached. JEwel noted a few familiar faces, but gravitated towards @Keir, a smile touching her lips before she sought to gently bump his shoulder in silent greeting. She spotted the yearlings of the Cove - as well as the young @Ida, glad to see the girl had remained.. though she had noticed many of her family were no longer around.

Perhaps, the once queen thought, she could mention to the new rulers that the girl might do well in a lead role - she certainly was taking the initiative. But, that was no longer her place..
