This is a strong reminder that Amaryllis has a minimum word count of 100 words. We have a word-counter plug-in installed that can be used when writing posts; please remember to check this before posting. We expect everyone to be hitting this threshold and, like every other rule, this is one that needs to be followed and respected.
As of this announcement, posts that have under 100 words will not count towards leadership requirements (i.e. the minimum of 5 posts per week), and will also not count towards pride buffers (increasing the cost for pride challenges). This is to enforce a level-playing field across the entire community, and to ensure that we are all adhering to the rules.
Repeated disregard for this site rule will result in additional consequences, for all characters. The Staff team is currently discussing the best, and most fair, way to handle these situations, and will provide an update once we come to a conclusion.
Explicitly trespassing on pride territories (i.e. crossing the borders in your post) will now result in your character's PVP going up by one level for the duration of that thread.
- Example: if your character is listed as Red PVP, but chooses to trespass in Obsidian Hollow, their PVP will be considered Yellow for the duration of that thread.
This is to prevent exploitation of the PVP system and to minimize characters avoiding IC consequences based on their PVP level. If you are unsure about a trespasser in your pride territory, please come to a Sr.Staff member for clarification, and we will be more than happy to help!
Note: Pride challenges are exempt from this rule due to the size of these threads, and the amount of characters that are typically present.
As things start to speed up on-site, we have decided to implement some additional caveats for taking absences in relation to IC fights.
As of this announcement, the new guidelines are:
- If an absence is posted before the fight has started, the fight will be paused until the member on absence has returned.
- If an absence is posted after a fight has started and is 3 days long or less, the fight will pause until the member on absence has returned.
- If an absence is posted after a fight has started and is more than 3 days long, the fight will default automatically.
After a fight has been initiated against one of your character, you can only go on absence once during the duration of the fight (within the above limitations). Taking more than one absence during an ongoing fight with result in an instant default.
We understand that there was some questions about requiring exits for joining prides, receiving promotions, and so forth.
We understand that threads can sometimes drag on and characters can fall into limbo, which is something that no member of the Staff team likes to see. However, we also feel that joining prides are significant IC events, and that there should be incentive to finish these threads for logging, petal, trade experience, and Staff purposes.
- At this time, exits are still required to join prides. Exits are also still required for any promotion into the leadership tier.
- As of this announcement, exits are not required for a character to be promoted to a new rank within their own pride (non-leadership rank). Explicit agreement of the promotion is required between both characters before requesting the rank switch.
We would like to flag that, after numerous discussions, we will be making changes to the site's size charts. This will take time, and so we ask for your patience while we determine the best course of action, and how we would like to steer the site forwards.
We will provide updates as needed and as we work through the details. We anticipate that this will be a large and time-intensive project for the Staff team, and we hope that you can all understand why this change might move slower than others we have done.
Due to a lot of comments and confusion, from now on, your discord name has to match what is on-site, and has to clearly identify you. This is for clarity for Staff and members alike.
If you want to change it up to have some puns, jokes, etc., that is fine, but please keep the above in mind when doing so. Staff can ask you to adjust your name if it is found to be causing issues.
